Prices in football are absurd and player prices are skyrocketing year on year. It won't be long before there is a 100m goalkeeper so I say get in there before the rest. Say Pep decides he can't live without Neuer this summer, how much will it cost to prize him away?
So, absurd? Yes definitely but its only a matter of time the way things are going.
 
Honestly the only reason for him to stay is for money and "loyalty". He's clearly been the only player who's been consistently good since SAF left. The saga's gone on long enough where I think I'm actually numb to losing him and won't really care either way. He deserves to play at the highest level and Madrid guarantees that and we're still in flux.
 
In fairness, if any of us look at it from his perspective it's illogical to not go to the Bernabeu. He should go, I don't think any supporter here would hate him for it. If he stayed the would be great, but if he wants to go he should go soon so we can get a replacement option ready ASAP.

Rooney criticised the team and Ronaldo said we treated him like a slave. What has De Gea said? Nothing. He has conducted himself perfectly in his time here.

He did try and move in 2015 the only reason that didn't happen was because of the fax machine fiasco. Maybe comparing to Rooney wasn't the best comparison but he does want to leave the club according to reports.

He gave us years of good service I am not denying that but isn't that what he is paid for? To give us good service. I don't see why him giving us good service merits him having to play farewell games or gives fans the right to say he's being treated unfairly which was the post I originally replied to. He wants to leave so feck him why should we give a shit about him.

I don't hate de gea when he plays for us? How could I? He's a Manchester United player and i would never hate any player that puts the shirt on for us, but when a player wants to leave or when he does leave why should I give a shit about them. Same goes for Ronaldo.

There is a big difference with ronaldo leaving when a team is at the top and you have won everything there is to win and de gea leaving when the team is struggling.

I don't wish bad on de gea if he leaves and I've never wished bad on ronaldo but I couldn't care less how there careers go as they don't play for my club anymore.

So he's kept his mouth shut big deal I know plenty of fans in 2015 wished he would open his mouth so we knew were we stood. But end of the day he wants to leave it's quite clear he's wanted it since 2015. My point was made to ur previous post were u said we are treating like shit and he deserves a farewell game. That's just bullshit he does not deserve anything of the sort. I would rather see more of Romero in these next games if he is staying next year as maybe we can asses his performances and see if we do need to buy a replacement keeper in the summer.

De Gea has been a great servant and a very good professional

my attitude is exactly the same as last summer.... if it's time for him to make that life change and move home where his girlfriend/fiance? has been waiting for him then good luck to him

put yourself in De Geas shoes

if he leaves it will be a bit blow but we will do a hell of a lot better had he left last time when he was going for 25 million

still hopeful he wants to stay or Real see other priorities- hopefully Navas has a stormer the rest of the season

Unbelievable. He doesn't deserve anything? The guy single handedly saved you for a couple of seasons.

The least you can do is give him a farewell game if he's leaving. He might have wanted to leave - but he didn't and he gave you incredible performances / points.
 
Even with Ballague calling this a done deal i'm not completely covinced Dave will depart for Madrid. I had a gut feeling in 2015 when it fell through and something again tells me he's meant to play in Manchester.

You can understand it if he does leave however, as family and lifestyle are important to all of us, especially Spaniards! I would naturally be sad to see him go but I think we're in a better position defensively this year than two years ago, and have a solid back up in Romero.

If need be I hope we're in for a young guy such as Donnarumma or Oblak who can be rotated with Romero for a couple of seasons while they adjust.

If Madrid win the CL that'll be what 3 in 4 years? I hope he stays but can't blame him if he does leave. I just hope we either get a silly cash amount, or preferably a good player back in return if it comes to fruition.

Not true. Every summer there's always speculation linking the likes of Messi and Ronaldo to various clubs. We can only do so much but the transfer mill keeps on spinning.

I'm guessing he will be going, don't think he has convinced Mourinho he is in at United for the long haul.
 
If he wants out, then at this point I'm not arsed if he doesn't play for us again.

There is only one game that matters for us this season and Romero deserves that spot.

No confidence in Romero being our number going forward though. Got some serious work to do in finding that replacement.

How many people ever thought Ronaldo or Messi would leave Real and Barca? How many think De Gea will leave...We have a bad track record when it comes to keeping our best players, especially those who are no British. One might argue that some have been sold on our terms but we are not even at the level we used to be anymore as well, so i doubt the situation is much better.
 
He's a professional lad with aspirations to play on the biggest stage. In the four years since SAF left and he won his last PL medal, he's seen the team finish 7th, 4th, 5th and probably now, 6th while bottoming out of the CL on two occasions.

I wish him well and don't blame him in the slightest for wanting better than we're able to provide.
 
You do wonder why he's out of the squad. Things seem to heat up so let's see if he's really here after 1st September

Yes. The major concern however is that his tune has changed to "why are Manchester United forcing him", with bullshit about how he was left out of the squad (when he was injured). He's not angling it as De Gea wanting to leave, he's portraiting it as us pushing him out the door.

So yeah, i'm fairly certain that he's as good as gone. If this was the usual bullshit it would've been all about De Gea wanting to leave, us trying to keep him

That's the entire point though. Even the best clubs with the best players still get media stories trying to link the players away. It's going to be no different for us. There have been points at which they've looked like leaving, Ronaldo during his "I'm not happy phase", and Messi during the Tax Evasion scandal. Truth is they were never going to leave but the media was leading the narrative.

How many people thought De Gea would leave last time? He ended up staying, and actually signing a new contract. A bad record, not really only Ronaldo I can think of in recent times.

That was an absolute fluke though as we had effectively sold him before things screwed up. Hardly backs your point.
