David De Gea

That was an absolute fluke though as we had effectively sold him before things screwed up. Hardly backs your point.

Agree on hindsight, but the point is that the media are going to link players away for any reason. Even the best clubs can't stop the media.

feck off De Dea! We've got Romeo! Far better!

This is very unfortunate if we are letting De Gea go. Romero is in good form but we have all seen his previous performances and he's certainly no world beater. Funny thing is Real would never let their world class players come to us easily, but we are letting De Gea go so damn easily.

He's as good as gone boys and let's face it can you really blame him?

He's been awesome for us whilst we've had him. We've regressed and he's remained the best keeper in the world with a chance to return to his home city

Pretty much this...

This gets brought up so much but it really is a myth (as far as his performances for us are concerned). He's been brilliant.

Yeah, this is it. At the end of the day, he's already wasted some of his best years, post Fergie, on us, instead of competing for trophies at the highest level, which is obviously what a keeper of his calibre should be doing. Would be ridiculous to hold any grudges towards him for leaving after that, especially as there is nothing to indicate that we'll match his level in the near future.

What's wrong with the liberal mentality of this fanbase.

He did try and move in 2015 the only reason that didn't happen was because of the fax machine fiasco. Maybe comparing to Rooney wasn't the best comparison but he does want to leave the club according to reports.

He gave us years of good service I am not denying that but isn't that what he is paid for? To give us good service. I don't see why him giving us good service merits him having to play farewell games or gives fans the right to say he's being treated unfairly which was the post I originally replied to. He wants to leave so feck him why should we give a shit about him.

I don't hate de gea when he plays for us? How could I? He's a Manchester United player and i would never hate any player that puts the shirt on for us, but when a player wants to leave or when he does leave why should I give a shit about them. Same goes for Ronaldo.

There is a big difference with ronaldo leaving when a team is at the top and you have won everything there is to win and de gea leaving when the team is struggling.

I don't wish bad on de gea if he leaves and I've never wished bad on ronaldo but I couldn't care less how there careers go as they don't play for my club anymore.
I guess I am biased to De Gea because I dread where we would have finished without his heroics these past couple years. I'm being deadly serious. perhaps my memory is hazy but we could've dropped so many more points and be further down

I don't know if people in this thread have kept an eye on Navas, but he has outperformed De Gea this season. By a decent margin.

If he leaves, good for him and best of luck (as long as he doesn't start taking digs at the club). If I were in his shoes, would have run far away from United too after Van Gaal's first season.

Not really, he's had a lot more to do this season though.

He's a professional lad with aspirations to play on the biggest stage. In the four years since SAF left and he won his last PL medal, he's seen the team finish 7th, 4th, 5th and probably now, 6th while bottoming out of the CL on two occasions.

I wish him well and don't blame him in the slightest for wanting better than we're able to provide.

That really drives home how bad we've been...really need a big year next year!

He's done well in the europa league this season. Considering how he played during the De Gea transfer saga, it's safe to say he's not brilliant. He's a decent second choice, nothing more
You keep mentioning Romeos performances during the last de Gea transfer saga, that was three games two years ago, let it go chap.

thought it was strange even before kick off tonight the commentator on sky mentioned he might have played his last game for united

If he goes to Madrid I hope he does shite and gets bood and hates it. I'm bitter like that, but atleast I'm honest. It's not all the best like people say, I hope it goes to shit, if you don't want to play for United then Tara

With the good last months of Navas, the hype pro David has lowered some points for the Spanish press. Let's see how they convince the fans that they have to get rid of him and spend 70 or 80 on David.

Marca should make a poll. ASAP, while his performances are still fresh

It has nothing to do with who he wants to play for. He's Spanish and at a age where he's thinking of starting a family with his Spanish Fiancee who lives in Spain. He wants to be closer to his friends and family, he's given us more than enough years of great performances. He's stuck around when we've been fecking dire. He obviously loves United and has nothing but appreciation for the club, but he's not getting any younger.

People wishing him to fail and all that rubbish are just being bitter imo.

Are you thick? Did you even bother reading it? It takes into account the latest transfer window.

Coming from a poster who quotes the Daily Mail with such conviction though, it shouldn't be a surprise.
I'd love to ask the same question but it'd really be rhetorical given your ability to be uninformed about the topic, clueless about the flow of the thread and who's posted what source and the smugness to go with it. Do yourself a favour and update yourself, luckily for you, I've posted where you can find the latest info in this very thread.
