David De Gea

It annoys me if a player wants to stay why they wouldn't commit and say it in public? I think Martial and Shaw has given an example by admitting they will continue and fight! If players are loyal and don't think about leaving they should say it out loud, thats all, unless they are not. In DDG situation I think he keeps his options open maybe he is waiting for us to be in the C.L next season or maybe any other reason but it looks like he wants Madrid IMO. Just hoping he doesn't write us a thank you letter before he leaves and blah blah blah.

Griezmann and Joe Hart. I'm sure head and shoulders would love that.

But really no thanks for Joe Hart. All this talk of De Gea not making any saves or not being influential this season so we won't miss him is nonsense.

Just look at the beginning of 09/10 season. We had a great defence, but Ben Foster was in goal. He unsettled the defence with his stupid actions at times. That's what a bad goalkeeper can do to your team. Foster isn't bad, but he wasn't good enough. Once VDS came back, we got better.

I'm shocked to see so many comments on the fees should be 60 million, 70 million or whatever. The key point is we are not willing to sell our best player.

Just imagine if we try to get Neuer from BM. We will be told straight away to F*** off without any negotiation on whatever price we can offer.

If really De Gea was desperate to leave, then we should price it based on the price of RM's best player which is whatever the price to bring Ronaldo/Bale to Man Utd. Maybe 150 million? Even Monaco's best player Mbappe cost 110 million and he is a youngster in his first professional year.

If not, we need to stand firm even with an unhappy player in the team to make a strong statement like any big club would. Just tell them to pay up or no deal. I am sick of Madrid trying to get our best players and worse not willing to pay up.

Agreed, he's on a long term contract anyway, he agreed to it! He can't moan.

Basically,FU Madrid!

Madrid is the biggest club in the world. They have the money, the reputation, the history, the star players, the fan base, global popularity, the glitz and almost any other yard stick you may use. For the majority of players and coaches, joining Madrid is the peak of a footballing career.

They have broken the world transfer record 5x, won the european cup/cl 10x, and top the Deloitte money list for 11 (consecutively) of the past 12 years.

Several of the world greatest footballers have played for them. They snatched Figo from Barcelona, Zidane from Juve, and CR from United. You dont see a star player at Madrid being unsettled because of interest from another club. But Madrid does it to almost any other club.

This thread and the number of united fans getting their pants in bunches is the final prove of this.
Calm your tits, I was responding to the other poster that bigger club means bigger fanbase and prestige, not just trophies. Whether Madrid or Utd is bigger is subjective.

I can't see why he would want to leave though. He's more than settled now compared to two years ago and he has his best mates here, and i'm sure he can see Jose is building a dynasty here and he would love to be a part of it

His girlfriend.

Basically. This has very little to do with money or him loving Madrid, it's obvious he has nothing but respect and appreciation for Manchester United, but Madrid is closer to his girlfriend and family.

De Gea is our best player so if Madrid wants him they better send a world record breaking offer.

Dave signed a new contract and he isn't vocal about staying nor is he about leaving, so we hold all the cards.

It's either 100+ million or a group of players of our choosing.

There is only one thing worse than losing DDG, that is losing him and signing Joe Hart to "replace" him. That rumour can't be true, surely. The stuff of nightmares.

Has to be Navas and a load of cash, or nothing.
Navas has been good for them hasn't he? Can't imagine how he'd be feeling. Joke club.

Really don't want Navas. He was said to be hugely upset at being sold to us last time. You need your goalkeeper to be committed and in a good head space. The EPL also takes time to adjust to for Goalkeepers and I wouldn't like to see him come over and suffer a bit of a confidence crises when he's already in the wrong head space.

Guillem Ballache saying De Gea does not want to leave. So now we have all the rubbish papers in Spain and England saying one thing, and the spaniard whos supposed to be believable saying another. Don't really trust him on transfers either though, nobody knows shite as far as I'm concerned, best wait and see in the summer.

How on earth do you think he's more settled?

We are as far away from the title as we ever were under Fergie. Hope he stays, not confident though and couldn't blame him.

Can see him staying for another year to see if we can challenge for the title under Mourinho. It's on Mourinho to persuade him to stay for another year or so.

I think we just tell them to feck off. He has a three year contract, is our best player and arguably the best keeper in the world. He doesn't seem like the type to kick up too much of a fuss to force a move.

Just keep him, out of principle.

Way too much, feck that.

No need to pay that much when we have a very good keeper already.
Navas is a good goalkeeper and played a great clásico but I think that even if Navas is in Yashin mode until the end of the season Florentino will want to buy a new one

Marca are a shitstain of a paper. All Real Madrid transfer business begins with them unsettling the target player, so Real can get the player on the cheap.

They should be investigated.

Actually no, what we need to do is to pay the Daily Mail to unsettle Varane.

"Varane:I want to be reunited with Mourinho and I hate Real Madrid" What a headline.

Dunno why De Gea is so hell bent on joining Madrid, I know his family is in Spain and all that but Real bascially told him to feck off because of a few quid, I'd take that personally if I was De Gea. Besides we have a good thing going on here. Its clear as day we'll be back at the top in a few years with Mou at the helm and star players like Pogba and potentially Griezmann signing up.

Yeah or he could join one of the best teams in the world already and not 'hope' that things 'might' go better for United in the coming years.

Being fair absolutely no one of note so far has actually said DDG wants to leave, all the noise Zidane has made in the past few seasons is that he's very happy with Navas anyway. I think it's just a really easy rumour for the press, like Ronaldo back to United every summer, that sort of thing.

A team that will discard him at the first sight of a shiny new toy irrespective of his performances. Navas has been pretty much faultless, buying DDG makes absouletly no sense other than the fact DDG is more marketable.

I don't think we need to pay a tabloid to write bullshit headlines with no substance bullshit content stories. They do it everyday day themselves and expect the public to pay for the pleasure.

I wouldnt go that far

De Gea is probably going to give them 10 years, cant make the same mistake as did with Ronaldo. Its hindsight now, but Ronaldo was is dirt cheap for what they have managed to get out of him.

Cash and Varane, straight swap for Bale or min of 80m, should be the terms

£300m for Ronaldo would still have been good value.
