Damn.. Love the guy, but it was the worst Gk performance in passing, I've ever seen in my life.
I know I was wankered on Sunday but even I have no idea what I was trying to say here.Pathetic performance, absolutely performance.
Heaton could do better.
Clearly you were that it was an absolutely performance. I completely agree.I know I was wankered on Sunday but even I have no idea what I was trying to say here.
I was referring to that specific mistake where he opted to pass to an area with several opposition players and he completely ignored the left side, its obvious the way he aimed that pass he didn’t see the Betis player.
Yup. You can’t have a player on big money who is a hinderance to playing the way you want to play. There may be teething problems but the sooner we make the change the betterAgain it’s not his composure. He is afraid to take a second touch to turn around and change sides. He simply can’t kick the ball, it’s as simple as that.
His passing ability is atrocious, and his shot stopping capability is above average at best these days.
He is currently on 350k a week with talks of him getting 250k a week. I say he won’t get any other team to pay him 150k a week and for good reasons.
We need to let him go!!
I think you have to accept him being here with his contract. There is no way De Gea agrees to a move so any incoming transfer will just be to bench him, which can be easily justified.Again it’s not his composure. He is afraid to take a second touch to turn around and change sides. He simply can’t kick the ball, it’s as simple as that.

I swear, there was a 10 min period where he wasn't even close to passing to anyone. In such cases, you would safeguard that by booting it up far up the field to someone, but kicking it only 10-30 yards is unbelievable. Looked like he was sabotaging the side.
Oh, if that's the case then it's all good. His contract is coming to an end this season and United won’t take the 12 month extension.
There are talks of him being offered 200k a week contract with max being 250k a week if he plays half of the 60 games a season….
This is the best time to let him go for free…. Yes he has been a great servant but heck he also made 100m in gross income in these 5 years….. I think club has done their part as well….
Thank him for his services but time to move on..!!
His team-mates didn't need to give him the ball much in the 2nd half because there wasn't a need to. It's not De Gea's strength to build up play nor was there any incessant pressure from Betis. No it's not.
He stopped playing bad passes because he didn't get much of the ball and even when he did he played AWB into the corner once or twice.
When your own teammates won't even give you the ball out of the fear you're going to feck up. You may as well just give up.
No , just no OK I can accept we need a new No1 but it's not these two, mot even close.Surely now is the time to give a run of games to either Heaton or Butland?
When does his contract run down?
Wasnt there a report he'd be ready to take smaller wage?End of this season. Team has an option to extend for another year but no chance they do it on his current wages.
Oh my.Surely now is the time to give a run of games to either Heaton or Butland?

He did what he could much better in the 2nd half. Keeping things simple and not fecking up traditional goalkeeping stuff. Yes, sweeping up, closing angles and kicking accuracy are traditional goalkeeping skills.
All I've been saying is - considering the 1st half where other keepers would crumble he did well to recover no matter how simple his tasks were. I'm not talking about the wider topic of whether he should stay or go or the rest of his deficiencies which I and others (yourself included) have beaten to death. He literally had feck all to do in the second half.
They just completely ignored him when the ball was back there for most of the second half. It was obvious.
And that bolded bit is a big reason why he just had to go.
First thing he did second half was to put Martinez on a horse, passing to him surrounded by 3 Betis players in close vicinity. I think he did this so that Lisandro could show off with his technique, but any other player and there's a high chance of losing the ball on the edge of the box.All I've been saying is - considering the 1st half where other keepers would crumble he did well to recover no matter how simple his tasks were. You what?Club legend? No.
You what?
He's not a legend. Just because you managed to pull a decent 20 games a season while everything else is on fire doesn't make you a legend. In fact, whenever he's had the opportunity to make legend status he's had a shocker.I don’t consider him a legend. I think legend gets thrown around far too easily. I’ll explain it in an FM way, I think there’s 3 tiers
Legend
Icon
Cult hero
I’d say DDG falls into the icon section. Legends are the likes of Charlton, Cantona etc

He has the record for clean sheets as a Man Utd player. He won player of the season three times in a row, albeit when we were shite. He has produced some of the best goalkeeping performances seen in England. Yeah he's not suited to playing out from the back, but he is a club legend and is loved by match goers. He's not a legend. Haven't Real won loads of Champions leagues with Thibaut Courtois? Isn't he renowned for being poor with his feet?Maybe a bit harsh but i unfortunately have a hard time seeing us winning the league or the CL with De Gea, he just gives the ball away too easily even against a mediocre opponent such as Betis, Against better teams that press even better he panics often and goes long and gives the ball away all the time. Lets be real here now days you're not winning the PL or the CL by relying on countering footboll which is what we're pretty much doing against most good teams at the moment. i'm seriously nervous every time he has the ball at his feet and planning to go short, because you just know he is gonna feck it up somehow.
It's clear as day that Ten Hag wants to play possession football and play out from the back against most teams. I just can't see us doing that anytime soon unless De Gea massively improves somehow. Like yeah he is a good shot stopper probably up there among the best right now, but that's just isn't enough now days and you need the whole package if you wanna win the big trophies. For me he is a legend of the club but he is unfortunately very flawed, so if he is still here next season i hope he can prove me wrong.
Makes up for it by being a lot more commanding than De Gea.Haven't Real won loads of Champions leagues with Thibaut Courtois? Isn't he renowned for being poor with his feet?
Because he's had zero competition for his place in an era where United have been dogshit. Someone has to play in net during that time and United have only ever gone out and got goalies on a free since money needed to be spent on the rest of the squad more urgently. He's got away with playing this team for years despite not being up to it.He has the record for clean sheets as a Man Utd player. But this idea that you need Beckham back there to win things is tripeMakes up for it by being a lot more commanding than De Gea.
Neither an all time great nor a legend for me. Rashford has a bigger shout, but he has a way to go yet. From the last decade he’s the only one who has a shout to being an iconic / legendary United player. For me personally he’s one of those who is an all time great for us but not a legend.
