Darmian to Juventus?

Id like to see the stat of how many 90 mins he managed for us without a booking.

I bet we're talking fingers on one hand material

He's actually only had about 12-13 bookings in his United career. Though to be fair it's not easy to pick up that many bookings when the majority of wingers get around you on a regular basis with little effort.

Only? That's quite a few.
And how many games has he limped off out of.
Hence my question...how many full 90s has he played without.a booking.

I really would be surprised if it's more than 5

In all competitions it's 45 games where he played 90 mins and didn't pick up booking.

Well it averages out to 4+ a season which isn't too bad i suppose. Though to be fair 9 of them were in his first season.

Why we don't sell him and buy a proper full back is beyond me. But we have to keep him if we aren't going to sign another full back.

Seems pretty straight forward that Jose would hang into him until he figures out what he has in Dalot, especially with Tony getting older and not arriving in satisfactory condition. In a crisis he can also deputise on the left so we don't have to rely on Shaw.

I struggle to believe that. Have you gone through every game to check subs/limping off?
Or have you just taken starts and subtracted yellows?

Easy to check in transfermarkt site

We have got 4 full backs, Valencia, Dalot, Young and Shaw - the first three are not available for the first couple of weeks of the season - so makes sense to keep him until the end of August. After that we should have move than enough cover, especially when you add in the two youngsters.

Mourinho is a masochist

FFS he's not even good in defence Jose ! Let him go.
The problem is the injuries we have at RB. Both Valencia and Dalot will miss the first month of the season and Young may not be match fit for the first game (or so). So, we may need Darmian for the first few games. Even if the English market closes, there will still be a few weeks for foreign clubs to buy Darmian afterwards (should we decide to sell then).

I had a look and there's only starts not subbed or injury stats.

There's no way he's lasted 90mins so often.

Then you are checking wrong. Go to performance data, select season. You will get how many mins he played in each game and whether he scored, assisted, got yellow or red.

People do realise both of our other RB’s are injured right?...

Keep Darmian for the first 2 games and then sell him when Valencia is back. Transfer window ends later for Serie A.

He is half decent at right back Darmian but he is the worst left back I've ever seen. And I've seen Daley Blind at left back getting skinned by Bristol wingers.

He would have been sold months ago if only for the fact United are the only club on planet earth that seems to think he's worth more than a few million.

If we got realistic about his price Juve, Napoli or Inter would do us a favour and take him.

Jones, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Bailly, Young and even Smalling at a push can play right back. We would be fine with those options until Valencia gets back, Darmian isn't being sold simply because no one wants him at the prices being quoted.

He can attack slightly better at RB but woeful defensively on both sides. There's no way he should stay after this transfer window.

Maybe he's not confident that dumb will be able to replace him? Which might also explain why so many players overstay at United.

We can sell Darmian after Valencia is back fit, he wants to leave so i'm not worried.

I know it's irrational at this stage given Val situation and Dalot recovering from his injury but I would be happy if we got rid of him asap. I'm just sick of the sight of this guy, so painfully out of depth at this level.

Redcafe general consensus on Darmian: "He is woeful"

United asking price: 20£ millions

I actually agree.
If we hang onto him until Valencia returns, I do worry that somehow, he'll get a stay of execution and won't be sold.
I'd bite the bullet and try and sell him asap. we can play a CB at RB, until Valencia returns.

Yes, I agree, but Jose is hanging onto him for dear life.
I think Jose is worried about trimming the squad and not being allowed to buy new players, so in his head, he'd rather hold onto a poor performing player, than have no player at all.

I don't know what the heck is going on.
It's very clear to see that Darmian is no where near the standard of player that we should have, so why we insist on keeping such players baffles me, injuries or not.

We can keep him until end of August. We are not going to use any of those players you mentioned at RB apart from maybe Lindelof.

Possibly not but i'd have every one of them at RB ahead of Darmian at this stage even if he does stay.

Who else remembers those first few months of his first season where he looked absolutely quality ? I was convinced he would become one of the best full backs in the league. Maybe it was my Italian bias.

Redcafe is the definition of knee jerk. He is hardly an awful player. He is an okay player, but nothing more.

If he was awful, he wouldn't be playing for United, starting for Italy and Juve, Inter and Napoli wouldn't be trying to sign him.

United is asking for more than his true price cause every club is doing the same for every player, and because we are short on his position.
