Danny Welbeck to Hull for £10m?

Are they really underrated or overrated here? Dont forget most opinions are based on last season, Rafael, Evans, Kagawa, Nani, Carrick, Van Persie, Jones have done feck all last season , while Smalling was poor on RB, Rooney is the scapegoat of England, his abuse is so undeserved.

Of course most of them are based on last season. That's what's absurd to me. Is last season the be-all and end-all for how all of our players normally perform?

Comfortably too good for Hull and worth far more than £10m.

Ofcourse not, but tbf there is a saying you are as good as your last match (not that it should be true), when you would rate Sturridge, would you rate him as the lad who couldnt get in the Chelsea side and had a decent 2nd half of the season later on or as the lad who was the 2nd topscorer, and played as one of the best strikers around? Or when you rate Suarez, do you rate him as the lad who was 2nd best to RVP or one of the three best players in the world (Or a idiot)? But back to Welbeck, he has not done enough to be seen as a top top player, he hasnt always had the chance to prove that he is, but when you look at his goals ratio in the past years, the odd chances he misses, is it so strange that many outside Manchester dont rate him?

This could be Danny's break out season. I can see him, if he stays fit, playing a lot of games up top alongside either RVP or Rooney and it will be really good for him.

Looking at some of the figures of transfers this season, Danny should, if sold, go for no less than 20-25m, at the least.

His not going anywhere. He is a good back up striker with the added bonus of being able to play on the wing. Why would we sell him?

I think he offers more to our squad than others can appreciate, and this is reflected in his valuation. He's worth more to us than 10m quid. Especially when that same figure gets you close to feck all. Or Jack Rodwell.

I'm not going to bother going through the first 7 pages because this is bollocks right? I've been out all day so I have no idea where this has come from.

No substance in this at all, right?

If we accept the bid I can only assume we are concerned about his knee.

Of course it is. Champions League clubs are queuing up to buy Welbeck.
To be fair he would walk into Arsenal's team. As he would at Spurs, though you aren't a champions league club. Still though, if we did want to get rid, which we don't, he'd be able to go to much better teams.

Oh dear, and I was nearly being convinced about him in the Sturridge vs Welbeck thread. All those posts. Wasted.

It's a nothing story.

Welbeck is a vital member of the squad who is clearly valued very highly by the manager and fans alike. Hull aren't going to replace Shane Long with a distinctly superior player while making a £2M profit. In this crazy market we should be receiving £15M for Welbeck at the very, very least with £20M being a more accurate valuation.

Of course he's not leaving. He was first choice throughout preseason until his injury. He's not even seen what LvG plans for him once RvP is fit.

I've likely been his biggest critic other than @Lynk and I'd slap woody with a leather dildo if he sells welbeck especially for the specified price.

Anything less than 20 mil with a buyback clause would be a travesty. Not to mention he's looked really good in preseason and fits with guys like mata, adnan and Herrera who we should be building our team around.

Anybody think LVG made the decision Welbeck or Hernandez and ended up chosing Herandez ?
No, Welbeck is injured...even when hernandez was on the tour he mostly made sub appearences and welbeck started every game until his injury.

True that Hull are below Welbeck's level, but we're being deluded if we say WAY below. He's probably Southamptonish, Newcastleish tier, MAYBE Spurs and Everton, though Lukaku is actually better. Only reason he's rated is because he's young and British. Pace and nothing else.

Can't see LvG letting go purely for squad reasons.

You're a hideous poster, you really are. Teams all over Europe would be taking a punt on Welbeck, particularly those with flexible attacks that are in and around the second tier. But yes, a player that has performed for one of the world's biggest clubs in a multitude of massive matches has a level that equates to a league club that sits in 13th place. Stop talking shite.
Bit melodramatic, no? I love Welbeck's potential, and for that reason would prefer to keep him. But if he wants to be a penciled-in starter/number one striker, then perhaps a team like Hull would be his best destination.

He will when he's actually played as a striker.

Really, overated for me.
In front of goal he is very inconsistent too say the least. Fact is he will never be the main striker for Man. Utd. At times he looks brilliant , at other times he looks like he has never seen a football in his life.

Nothing story this I would think. No chance we would let him go for as little as that

No, he chats shite in practically every United player thread, symptomatic of a Spurs fan in almost every way. He then went on to tell tales in regards to what I'd said. As already covered, Welbeck would start regularly at better teams than Hull.

Aye , but would he score enough goals?

Feck me so much wrong with this post. Clearly you can't have a great eyesight if all you see is pace...

If Lukaku is £28m, Welbeck is at least £20-25m with the added English player tax. Simple as that.

£10m is an insult.
Yeah 10m is quite laughable really for a player like Welbeck.

I haven't read the other posts in this thread but I'm one of the people who really rates Welbeck and think he's an important player for us. When he's on the field the whole team plays better. His pressing is unmatched by any other player on the team and his hold-up play is fantastic. And he could really benefit this year from van Gaal's 3-5-2 system as the 3rd striker or even contending for that 2nd spot. I really like Danny and hope he stays at the club for many years to come.
