Danny Welbeck | Arsenal player

I've followed him since he was 16 and came on v us in an FA Youth cup tie. Patience is the word.
You might as well wait a while. I'm still not happy that we sold him to you since you're direct rival to us and any improvement, no matter how significant it is, is bad. If we sold him to any other league, It would have made be quite happy but it is what it is. However, Welbeck is just not good enough for top level and I sincerely doubt he will ever be, and certainly not soon enough for Arsenal fans.

Hmm, I think Rooney still works hard though. For instance, a few occasions last weekend he was back, clearing the ball from his box. He was also routinely showing up deep, more in midfield to link the play.

It's true though that if Welbeck restricts his work a bit more, might help him. Interesting to see if Arsene wants him to do that.

Rooney's work ethic is still good. But if compare Rooney (right now) with the old days (Rooney). You won't see him running a lot just to get the ball back and jumping a lot just to win header and more other works anymore. The work ethic of old days Rooney was great. I must say at 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 his work ethic reminds me of Welbeck. And in 2004-2007. His work ethic was even greater. I also rate him as top 3 best players in 2010/2011.

I don't know what Arsene is going to do but If Arsene is really going to stick with 433 and one lone striker then he should advice Welbeck to be more selfish, so he can improve more in his finishing. Welbeck great ability what he has right now is more a type of 2nd striker who plays behind the finisher.

If Arsenal sign Cavani then Welbeck will be back in the same situation he was at United. He needs to take his chances while Giroud is out before the transfer window in January

i would say it would be a worse position for him since he was fighting Young and Nani for the left winger position at United. At Arsenal he has way more competition in the left wing spot.
So yeah, Welbeck better convince Arsene in the striker role fast.

He's a decent footballer. Funny to see the media building him up and this place massively knocking him down now that he's joined Arsenal/left United.
I don't think that's been the case at all. In fact, most on here have been crying into their pillows following his departure and lamenting his sale.

He was always going to score a decent number of goals, if not massive numbers. It was giving those goals to a CL place rival that was always the risk.

Should have added him to my fantasy team....I initially did not want to take the point deduction, but it seems it would have been worth it. Neverheless, the Ozil/Welbeck partnership seems to be the way forward for Arsenal. It looks like they will form a good understanding with each other

I took him out before this game, and Sanchez is on the bench. Typical.

Errmmm have you actually been reading? His standing on caf has probably gone up since he left.

And............ And what? I said he couldn't really miss. Do you cry when you think about Welbz and what could have been? Get a grip.

Eh? Those are the goals he needs to be scoring. Poacher goals. Hernandez made a career of doing that.

I just think someone's obviously unhappy Welbz scored. Think you need get a grip, mate.

I put him in last week. ;)

It was a good run and finish. A strikers goal which is something he needs to do more often.

Why are you so angry about it?

It's probably you who should get a grip. You've stormed in here with a stalk on to quite purposely downplay his goal. He scored, as he will do from time to time. It isn't a big deal either way.

No, I think you do 'mate'. Are you one of the ones that would rather have kept Welbeck than signed Falcao?

I'm not upset, I just don't care about him anymore. He means nout now.

I'm just happy he scored. If you don't care, what you doing in this thread?

You should probably take a time out.

So because it's Welbeck that scored, we can't say that it was an easy chance and he would be fully expected to score? Ciaran Clark was nowhere to be seen, Weleck was completely unmarked and he scored. That's actually what happened. I guess we have to pretend otherwise because it was 'Welbz'.

Fair enough, you're happy he scored. I still find this trail of thought quite odd: He's now at a rival club; so why support him and wish him well? I personally don't get it at all.

His finish was kind of standard no doubt but that's what your average strikers goal should be. His pass for the first was very good, playing well. I find it fairly bizarre that anyone could be happy about Arsenal scoring.

This thread has taken a bizarre turn. Are we going to get more posts lamenting his sale each time he scores a goal from now on ?
