Danny Welbeck | Arsenal player

Walcott - Welbeck - Sanchez is a frightening front three in terms of pace. They'll miss their fair share of chances but they'll terrorise most defences. Playing Ozil at the head of a midfield three (against the lesser sides, you couldn't trust him to work enough in the bigger games) to slide balls through to them and they'll flourish.

It's amazing what a move to Arsenal can do for your reputation. He's playing like he has done for years.

A lot of United fans seem unable to forgive him for that miss, even though RvP was guilty of worse in that tie.
He didn't play against Bayern Munich so he did well to even get a chance to miss.

Audacious attempt but it was a 1v1 chance, good start for Danny so far though

I don't know why he tries the chips so much, they rarely work. When he actually just tries to place his shot he usually hits the net. He always seems to want the extravagant.

That's why Welbeck is no longer at Utd. The chip is pretty on the eye but he's one-on-one that should be a goal.

The thing is he should be scoring that, he's through on goal. That's the difference between good strikers and quality strikers. I had near on zero confidence in him scoring for us when he was through on goal. That miss just goes to emphasise my point.

Last year, we were guilty of missing good to great chances and then the opposition would go down the other end and score a goal with their only chance. Those misses could be the difference between a win and a draw or a draw and a loss.

He's tried that chip a few times now. I remember it only working against Swansea, back when Moyes had managed 1 competitive match for us and won 1 trophy. Good times

He scored one against Spurs as well and a couple for England iirc.

Belguim friendly was a good chip. But LVG stated it clear as day. He doesn't score enough goals. Still hope he does well though, inside his still United.

And there we see the difference between a good striker and a world class striker. Agüero - one chance, one goal. Hopefully Falcao would have the same efficiency..

Welbeck is not what a top four team needs as evidenced by this game. Fcuk me City are good!

He's played 30 mins for them.... against City. He'll get chances and score a fair few of them. Against smaller teams he'll score plenty in this Arsenal team and with confidence etc he'll be doing them more often against bigger teams too.

LVG criticised for selling Welbeck but #AFC striker missed great chance #aguerosergiokun didn't. Maybe that's difference van Gaal meant.
Really? Missing a random great chance is what strikes him as that difference? I really thought we were the only ones overrating Danny. Aguero, on his average day, will most likely have done at least as much as Danny on his best day. The difference in class is ridiculously big, it's not even worth comparing!

This really has turned into Pogba Mk2 thread.

At the same time seeing 'Danny Welbeck | Arsenal player' on homepage is really pissing me off. I'm quite bitter about his sale to Arsenal and wants him to flop badly as I believe he'll prove to be a great acquisition in long term for them.

2 moments that summed up why Welbeck isn't good enough at the highest level -

Welbeck clean through misses
Aguero has one chance and scores

I'm more overjoyed at Sanchez terrible performances so far, utd fans wanted us to sign him me included but it seems like we dodged a bullet with him.
