At the very least, and I mean the very least, his level is higher than Burnley. It was clear throughout the season that he was a level above his team-mates.

oh i agree with you he's better than that level and at only 21 he has got room to improve as well. I think a few are posting negatively because LFC are favourites to sign him

Absolutely agree. Burnley is his level.

The second from bottom PL relegated club is his level?

He's easily a very good premier league striker and with the exception for the clubs trying to challenge Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern etc.. to be among the biggest clubs in world football he could do a good job for any other top team. He'd be great for Tottenham, Southampton, or even Liverpool for example.

The only teams he'd struggle at are the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City, who are all looking for the likes of Diego Costa, Aguero, and other world class strikers to lead their attack.

Wow.

Part of me thought the whole liverpool connection was a bit of a joke and just his agent being a knob.

There can't be any way, surely he is their only striker purchase this summer?

Why is brenton just buying everyone English? Has he not seen the national side?

a good signing for them. Him and Milner are solid signings, better than what they already had.

Another banker for the scousers. Seems when they are linked with mediocre players, the transfers generally come to fruition. He doesn't look anything special to be honest but he's free, I guess that's a thing.

Isn't it a bit early to say yet?

Lambert and Ings upfront with Henderson and Milner supporting them from midfield.

What a time to be alive for the scousers!

He's an upgrade on balotelli, who most likely will be loaned, but he can't be the only striker they'll get this summer.

They're on a mission to sign all the most uninspiring players they can.

Next up, Micah Richards to replace Glen Johnson.

The shirt sales will be through the roof!

Yes of course. I'm just not sure where liverpool go from here with strikers. They need a top striker to replace Mr Glass, but it doesn't sound like he's going anywhere.

He's nowhere near Balotelli level of talent, and that's coming from someone who likes Ings and would of took him here as back up.

This is shockingly like Rafas last seasons.

They'll have to throw a few million Burnley's way, as he's under 24. If they can't agree on the fee it'll go to a tribunal.

Think they were talking about around £6m.

Is Ings actually better than Borini? I mean Borini had a very similar scoring record during his loan season at Sunderland. I don't think he's an upgrade, to be honest. Better than Lambert and will be a better fit than Balotelli, hardly a better player, though.

Meh, he's free, so what's the worst that can happen?

It's uninspiring for them - but I imagine they have plans to buy at least one more striker.

Though F365 did ask if he's any better than Jordan Rhodes... which is a fair point.

Neither are we. The assumption is Lambert and Borini will be sold. Possibly Balotelli too, though knowing us it will be on loan somewhere.

As it stands we probably have Ings, Origi and Sturridge - obviously his fitness is a worry.

I still think, hope we will bring in someone else.

Aye, I thought the mentioned tribunal fee was around the £3m mark? Paying £6m might turn out to be poor business, could go either way, I guess.

Confirmed on the official website
Do you think Liverpool will go for another striker now that Origi and Ings are already coming?

If i was a Liverpool fan i wouldn't be so sure Origi and Ings could solve the goalscoring issue.

The most sensible thing for brendon to do would be too feck sturridge off and build the attack around balotelli. People underestimate him but he could be brilliant. Ings would make more sense as a second striker to balo.

As I said above really.

Yes we still need another striker.

The signing of Ings will surely make Sterling think twice before refusing to sign a new contract for Liverpool...

I didn't know that. Can't see Burnley being happy with £3m but yeah, we'll see. I think they'll agree on a fee myself.

Don't think he's a 'next level' type of signing.

Yeah I have no idea how these tribunal fees work, to be honest.

No he definitely isn't, he's really only better than Lambert which isn't saying much.

That's irrelevant, balotelli has been a complete and massive failure, he doesn't score goals at all, which is what strikers are for, ings in that regard isn't just an improvement, he's a massive improvement.

What's wrong with buying young and success hungry striker who already has decent PL experience?

The precedent in this would have the compensation closer to 3 than 6m

Brenda messed him around. Balotelli is good for about 10-15 a season easily if managed properly.

Nothing, I think it's a good signing personally.

I just hope he doesn't get left on the bench like Aspas and Borini. I think he could be a good partner for Sturridge.

I think he fits them better than the Balo and Lambert and will do better, although that isn't saying much.

Could be a good squad player for them, but do they need more squad forwards at this stage? They need someone as good as Sturridge, or as close to that level as they can find.
