Ings and Kane could be a great partnership
And with Eriksen behind them they would both get lots of opportunities
Would be a good move though all the reports are he fancies Liverpool

Liverpool lighting up the transfer market this year!

RAWKites must be frothing at the gash

If you combine their two signings so far, you get a pair of right Mingers.

2 good signings. But you need to think whether these are signings Chelsea, Arsenal, City or United would make. Probably not.

Top 4 must be a minimum for Rodgers next season.

Brenton Rogers is hell bent on buying average dross....last year he bought half of Southampton's cast offs and now he has added Milner and looking to buy ings!

I think these are signings that will bring a greater level of consistency for them. And consistency is what you need to finish top 4.

You serious...i can't see Ings scoring enough goals to get them anywhere near the top 4.

With the loss of Suarez and crock Sturridge, not forgetting the imminent departure of Sterling the chances of finishing in the top is virtually zilch.

Ing's hasn't exactly been a consistent performer though, he had a purple patch around the end of last year/beginning of this, but has been a bit pants for most of the season.

On the plus side for Liverpool, they are strengthening weak areas of their squad without spending any of their transfer budget. Means they can really splash their (limited) cash on one or two WC players. Maybe. If they can find any WC players willing to sign for them

Yeah but it's having someone better to come in when Sturridge is crocked or needs a rest

Neither Milner nor Ings are "average dross". They are both very hard-working, energetic players and have a degree of talent. Both are good signings for Liverpool and will improve their squad.

Borini, Lambert, Aspas, Balotelli... Origi, Ings.

I see a pattern:)

Indeed. We need a first choice striker, as right now we only have one... And he's always in the medical room, anyway.

Borini, Lambert, & Aspas can all go. Balotelli, too.

The type of players Spurs would buy?

Ings would fit well within our squad currently, but Milner less so. As to the type of players Spurs like to buy, think Gascoigne, Ginola, Berbatov, Bale, Modric, Carrick etc.

Quality player, with the right platform and used correctly can develop into a great player. Should be going to spurs though imo, him and Kane would make a nice partnership.

Why is it always nailed on Liverpool to buy some average British player from a relegation team thats had a half decent season. Charlie Adam, Crouch ( although I do rate him), Lambert, pennant, im sure theres more.

Just the type of player Liverpool and Spurs battle it over, and he flops at either of them before going on to be decent at Stoke or Swansea.

Again, I completely agree with peterstorey. :nervous:

What is with this resurgence of overrating English players on here? Just recently, Milner, Cleverley and now Ings.

Looking at this through a Manchester United point of view these are the type of signings you hope Liverpool makes.

He has scored 13 goals at a club who's scored like 30 in total, something you have to look at things in perspective. He's 21, and has enough time to improve, he's fast, quick with the ball, can score, can dribble, is energetic, dynamic, and has a drive towards the goal. Might be the 2nd striker Liverpool could need, big name players are no guarantee, think some of you should notice that especially after this season.

Wouldnt be a bad signing, if they add a wing forward(to compensate for losing sterling), someone like firmino, a good centerback and rodgers stop playing his best wingers as wing backs.

This is the level pool have to shop at atm as no top player is going to move to them. They had half a chance last season and they blew it spectacularly.

No chance they can get someone of firmino's quality atm.

Ings is underrated, but the key for me is keeping Sturridge fit

They're both overrated. A set of forwards containing Sturridge, Ings, Balotelli and Lambert is getting nowhere near the top 4. Very glad they're getting Ings.

Some other talented number 10 then, fekir?

They have a quality no 10 in coutinho though. What they need is a striker. Not many good ones around. They'd need to take a punt on a foreign player but then again, lack of CL football and participation in the near future looking bleak means they'll have to shop at a lower level again. The vital thing for them is to keep sturridge fit. Ings is a very good 2nd choice.

Sturridge is very good. Ings is good enough to be 2nd choice but they need to keep sturridge fit which was their biggest problem this season. Lambert and balotelli are a waste of space.

I dont think they can count on ibe just yet so have countinho as one of the wing forwards in the 4-3-3. Someone like vietto would be perfect for them but doubt he will go to them. Agree with you there, if he keeps fit they have a very good chance of making CL.

Ibe should get games now with sterling gone. Depends on how much they trust markovic. Lallana should have 1 flank sown up. If they don't, then they should go for a winger and keep coutinho central Imo.

I wasn't suggesting they'd get into the CL though even if they keep sturridge fit. The gap between them and the current top 4 will increase substantially this summer I reckon. It's great because it makes their blunders last summer even funnier :d
