Italian sources (La Gazzetta as the most prominent one) claim that De Rossi has decided to not renew his contract.
Worth a shot?

Hell yeahItalian sources (La Gazzetta as the most prominent one) claim that De Rossi has decided to not renew his contract.

De Rossi, Nasri on the cheap, Young, Jones and De Geea would be just the ticket.
Let's not deal with Levy or with God this summer. We will only get ripped off.
No chance. Let's just hope we sign one proper CM player to replace Scholes, I can't see us signing two. Maybe one player to replace Scholes and some other young unproven talent, but I really really doubt that after buying Jones, Young and De Gea we would still buy two expensive central midfielders.
Nasri won't be expensive.
Well, but he's not highly likely to sign for us either, let alone De Rossi, who's completely not the type of signing Fergie would go for.
I will get shot down for saying it, but Fletcher and Carrick are not the world class dominance we expect.
I agree 100%, but unfortunately I find it hard to believe we'd buy two first choice midfielders. I know it's supposed to be a busy summer and all, but still...
And personally I can't see De Rossi leaving Roma, not at all.
Not going anywhere.
This would be a good time for him to move as he's nearing his sell by date.
De Rossi would be a great signing & i'm amazed his name hasnt been linked with anyone since the season finished. He's a class act, gets stuck in & cant dictate games. He's had many troubles in Rome over the past couple of years - hence the rumours during the season he wasnt hanging around much longer!
Would be the perfect signing for us IMO, I just don't see him leaving Roma, or Italy for that matter.
Daniele De Rossi would be a great signing, but I don't think he will leave Rome for the benefit of an English life consisting of frozen American pizza, rain, and an unknown language/culture.
This pretty much.
Lots of talk this last year that he's finally ready to leave but I can't see it myself. Just like I could never see Totti leaving either.
In fairness man, Totti would have left Roma years ago if it hadnt been for the fact that Totti couldnt find his way to the airport & he hasnt a friggin clue where England or Europe is either....
Tottie is the "Prince of Rome" and De Rossi is the slave of Rome.. Both wouldn't leave. Just playing a bit of hard ball.
Makes about as much sense them buying another holding midfielder as it does for us to buy another centre-back or a winger.....so looks like they'll probably get him!
In all seriousness he's a very good player and I think he would do well there. Would probably be a marked improvement on Barry, but not sure if he is better than De Jong.
If he goes there I hope he takes their penalties for them.
Replacement for Patrick Vieira I would think.
city wreck player's footballing careers!
Ok the money probabaly makes them for life but still i can think of many players whose careers have dipped or gone completely after moving to city. I hope for England's sake Adam Johnson is not one of those like wright phillips, jo, santa cruz, lescott, boateng, adebayor, etc etc etc
I would be un happy if they ever got De Rossi. It would be a waste
