Cuadrado

Cuadrado reminds me more of Neymar than Ronaldo, he's got super fast feet and likes a trick or two, also he looks pretty tough, been kicked all over the place in the world cup and he just gets up and gets on with it.

My only real concern is he's 26 and only just come onto the radar

He's looked class in the world cup to be fair. I think we lack pace - and he certainly has that. Also, could play right side in a 5-3-2/3-4-3 as well, if Van Gaal wants to do that.

He might have been but it doesnt say much. He's so frustrating - strong, fast and you just want him to get after the full back like he used to. Instead he seems to lack the confidence he had and just plays it safe.
Perhaps true, but I feel he offers far more than Nani and Young, yet people in this thread are harping on about Valencia being the one who needs to go. I'd prefer Nani go, personally. Valencia offers us more. He was awesome in that CL game where he got a smashed up eye/cheekbone. When was the last time Nani had an awesome game for us? I genuinely can't remember.

Am I the only person who felt that Valencia was arguably our best winger out of Valencia/Nani/Young last season? Nani the worst, surely. Would sooner offload a guy who seems to have lost his ability to impact a game entirely than a player who will play his heart out and can be used as an emergency right back to boot.

I agree, Valencia is definitely better to have around than Nani and Young.

But he still should not be getting anywhere near our starting eleven if we're to get back to the top.

I wouldnt be bothered if all three went providing repalcements were brought in, but obviously that isnt going to happen. To be fair, for me he offers teh most of the three. Nani is a talent but doesnt produce often enough. Maybe Van Gaal things he can do something with him.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Valencia moved to right back next season, with Shaw on the other side we would have some serious pace down the flanks, stick one of Cuadrado, di Maria or Sanchez in front of him.

And just ignore the fact that Valencia is poor defensivly? For the sake of pace? We would beed to radically change the way we play to make sure Valencia has very little defensive duty. Like Alves used to be for Barcelona, but then again Alves was great going forward, Valencia isnt anymore.

Apparently the club made a bid of 20mil in may and then this time 27mil.Both allegedly rejected.

Bit of a scattergun approach with the fees if true. 7 and 13 million pound increments? Or is it euros?

Bild saying United have upped their bid to 40mil.

i'm hoping this is bullshit

seems very hasty for a player who has performed well in a relatively poor league and in a few world cup games

I'm not sure you could call him established talent which is what you would expect for that kind of bid

Karol Poborsky......

If it was true that the club made a bid in May .This player must have been scouted before the World Cup.

He's been one of the best wingers about this season & has been playing great for the past 3 years, just stepped it up this year, he's certainly established.

I'm guessing our interest is bollocks anyway as Di Marzio says his suitors from abroad are Bayern, Barca & Arsenal and if GdS knew anything then Di Marzio would too so it's probably more to just start a bidding war from Fiorentina. Roma are now interested aswell though apprently and have spoke to his agent.

Good and dangerous crosses in a constant way is the minimum i expect. If he can also contribute successfully in other ways, much better.

By the way, when playing on the right, Cuadrado style is very similar to the on form Valencia style back in the day (they even share a typical dribbling...). Cuadrado is the better shooter and can play on the left. Wouldn't say they are completely different...
Look at Cuadrado's dribbling skills, technique, vision, something Valencia lacks badly.

Cuadrado usually plays like Nani without any attitude or ball retention question marks.

Today he's played the first 25 minutes like Nani on a bad day

So 20 minutes of football and he's shit ehh ? Some embarrassing posts floating about today.

We need a sure thing for the prices quoted and I think he's far from that. You can look at players like Gervinho and see the affect different leagues can have on your performances.

Well maybe not sure things but at 26 his name has come from no where.....

Exactly. And especially for that money. You want a proven player at the top level.

The post clearly said he is shit thus far v Brasil.

Any excuse for a Barney you lot.

I reckon Sanchez wouldn't even cost 40 million. I'd much rather have Sanchez or if not Sanchez i'd even take a punt on Depay for 15-25 m rather than Cuadrado for anything over 25 m. And then there's also the likes of Griezmann, Di maria, maybe Shaquiri etc.

He's got quite a poor first touch I think. He isn't the most intelligent, pretty linear.

But he has got a good engine and is lightening quick.

Only seen a few matches of his but he looks quite brainless and another brainless winger is the last thing we need.
