Cuadrado

Would be a good back up target for Sanchez but with Barcelona interested we wouldn't have much chance.

I'd only seen highlights of him before the WC, been as impressive as James apart from the finishing. Imagine if they had Falcao as well

I really do like this guy, exactly what our wing okay needs. Strong fast athletic skillful tricky you name it. And every time he picks up the ball he is always looking to run at his man. Something we have missed for a good few years now.

Actual transfer news and nobody talking about it

No news at all on Vidal and that thread is busy

I think he's far more likely to go to Barcelona or Bayern.

Di Maria, Sanchez, Cuardrado all possibly on the move surely we have to get one of them. If we don't and continue with our current options I'll cry

I doubt there's much in it tbf but would be happy if it was genuine, been great all season and at the World Cup too, massive upgrade on what we have.

Is this lad even anywhere near as good as Di Maria or Sanchez?

He's had a far better WC than Di Maria and has been just as good as Sanchez. He also came off the back of a very good season at Fiorentina.

If it does turn out to be true that we've put in a bid, I think it would be the clearest indication yet that van Gaal intends to implement his 3-5-2/3-4-3 system from the World Cup here. Cuadrado would be possbibly be the most perfect player available for a right wing back slot, in that he is rapid, works hard both offensively and defensively, he's a good tackler as well as being fantastic going forward, essentially he's the next level up from where Valencia was 2 years ago IMO. I'd have had him down as a £20m player before the World Cup tax was added on, but to be honest I'm not a person that looks at transfer fees much, I just mainly focus on whether the player would help move the team on, and if they do then they're value for money.

No. But his much better than what we have. Going into the season with our current options will be risky. They've been collectively dross for two seasons now.

He's fecking rapid, like even for wingers he is really fast, also very skilful, you can be sure to see him take players on at ease. My own only issue is he has his head down a bit much. I'm not sure if he's just a run up and down the wing type of wide man or if he can over that other stuff that Alexis and Di Maria can.

with sanchez and di maria could be available we should just go for either one of them. cuadrado seems to be a very good player but i rarely watch him, so even if he is that good signing him would not be as exciting as getting alexis or angel.

Good point

Lets not sign a player because you have rarely watched him

Played on the left a bit and scored half of his goals from there last season too. Can pretty much play anywhere.

Aren't Barcelona after him to replace Alves?

Tbh for £40m I'd rather we spent that money elsewhere.

Would much rather sign Sanchez or di Maria. He's an excellent third choice though, so I wouldn't complain if we got him. Just prefer Sanchez and di Maria since they're better and more exciting players.

I'd have him over the others simply because he's quicker. But out of the 3 Di Maria would be the best choice. There all around 25-26 years of age.

Alves has changed his tune in the last week or two and apparently is staying at Barca.
I think PSG didnt want to pay the wages he wanted.

Where would he play for either of those though?

Why move to sit on the bench and be sold at a knock down price a few years later?
Right back at Barcelona, probably the same position for Bayern.

His pace would be frightening from right back. He'd overlap anyone.

It'd be an awful waste playing him at RB, I reckon. Never seen him play there, mind.

He'd be wasted at right back for the most part, he'd get away with it at Barca though as their full backs are hardly defensive, looks likes Alves is staying now anyway. Suited Fiorentina well when they played him at wing back but he's played further forward for the most part and even up front when Gomez was out. He's lightning quick and will take players on all day. Great player.

His ability to slot in there might be why United are interested (if they are). If Van Gaal wants to go with a 3-4-3/5-3-2 formation he'd fit in on the right.

He or Sanchez are exactly the type of winger we should be looking at, for some reason I feel as though we have a better chance of landing Cuadrado than Sanchez.

We've bid €40m according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Haven't they also claimed we've made bid or been given figures for a bid on Vidal as well? Any Italians here on how reliable they are? With our latest spending we seem to be linked with everyone whose looking for a contract negotiation or leaked by every club looking to ramp up transfer fee.

All they said regarding Vidal was that we're interested and we're going to open talks. It was bollocks from twitter that claimed they said we made a bid for him.
