And just ignore the fact that Valencia is poor defensivly? For the sake of pace? We would beed to radically change the way we play to make sure Valencia has very little defensive duty. Like Alves used to be for Barcelona, but then again Alves was great going forward, Valencia isnt anymore.

nonsense on every level!

I haven't watched him for Florentina, from what i have seen in the games he's is talented but very raw and he's 26 already and the prices being thrown around of 40 million euros, if we do sign and lets pretend he irons out the nani moments from his game, it will atleast take him two more years to work out his flaws and he's 26 already, and we would only get 2 to 3 years of him with him being in his prime, and if he doesn't work out as we usually persist with players and give them a proper chance, then it would be another nani or anderson like situation, only worse cause the money we will receive it will be even worse cause he won't have re-sell value. So its better to actually spend the same amount of money on Di Maria or Sanchez rather than him.

Di Maria is 3 months older and Sanchez is 7 months younger. All a similar age bracket so you'd end up getting a similar amount of longevity.

More talk about our interest in him today, he's an exciting player despite his flaws and I'd rather see a winger that beats players than puts in a shift like Valencia.

Maybe if we dont get Di Maria we'll move for Cuadrado?
Di Maria is operating at a higher lvel at the moment but I'd be more than happy with Cuadrado.

So with Sanchez at Arsenal and interest cooled supposedly from Barca,we really should be testing the waters for this fella.

Could be a great signing given the skillset he showed at the WC,and his previous seasons form at Fiorentina.

Youngs a definate for me to go and Antonio and Nani have hardly been reliable quality and consistency wise, nevermind their futures.Lingard i like the lookof but Zaha im not so sure.

Basically are wingers apart from Januzaj are looking more than a bit toothless,so i reckon we should at least try and get in there for this lad.

LVG will asses Lingard, Carrick, Jones and Smalling over the next week or two to decide who is not up to it and what other signings will be needed so may be another week or two before we show interest in anyone else

Going for Cuadrado and not Sanchez seems dumb. I hope its a fluke. If we're to buy from Italy, only the top-notch players will do; Vidal, Pogba, Strootman, Sciglio etc.

He's nailed on to go to Bayern...I'd bet my house on it...Bayern will ease him into the team and eventually replace either ribery or robben with him down the line.....Why would he go to Barca? - Neymar, Suarez and Messi will be the front 3 three there

yeah he's not really a fullback, a wb at best, and honestly, he's really just a winger.

For the money they'd be paying, I'd imagine Pep would shoe-horn him in at right back.

He wouldn't start on the right ahead of Robben/Muller, and there's no chance if Lahms at right back he plays there, so I'd imagine this would signal a permanent move to midfield for Lahm.

He'd be great for us as he's cover both right wing and right back.

But if Barca/Munich are really in for him we should move onto someone else ASAP.

Skysports seem to think we are in for him as well, reports from Italy suggesting he's available for 37m euros not sure how I feel about this one, but if he suits lvg system then who am I to complain

I am pretty sure, that bayern wont go for him. I think that he is slightly overrated and not worth 37m, but he would suit van gaal´s system; wouldnt be a decent transfer for United.

If United sign him it would make Valencia's role in the team rather limited to say the least. Not that I'm complaining...

However, if van Gaal decides to convert him to a right wing-back on a full-time basis, he really wouldn't be worth the outlay when it remains to be seen how he'll perform in that position. Very hard-worker defensively and has good energy, but doesn't have the defensive attributes to perform the role, even though his defensive responsibility is lessened in a back-five. I also think Valencia could prove a competent back-up for Rafael as a wingback and I still have plenty of faith in the latter to fulfill his potential.

For that money we could've had Sanchez, if the figures are accurate. Kinda mind boggling.

Only knowingly seen him once and that was at the WC where he was pretty much shit. Obviously there's more to him considering the clubs seemingly interested in him.

This is true but I don't think Sanchez wanted to join us.

Lack of CL football this season is going to harm us in relation to player acquisition unfortunately.

Lol @ people calling him shit based one on game against Brazil.

He topped the assist charts and had a very good tournament overall. He's a very good winger.

I did acknowledge I'd only seen him once and say there was obviously more to him.

Valencia could be the one kept as a back up to rafael as rwb and cuadrado could be the new right winger for the team, but alas I don't think we will get him, just seems a bit expensive is the reason I'm using

If we're willing to spend that kind of money on a winger, I'd rather we pay a little bit extra and get Di Maria.

Not as simple as that. Di Maria's wages would be much higher and also he might not even want to join you.
