Cuadrado

All they said regarding Vidal was that we're interested and we're going to open talks. It was bollocks from twitter that claimed they said we made a bid for him.

OK thanks, in general how reliable are they? Is there any source in Italy like the BBC/Times etc were they only print the most reliable stories.

Taught he was off to Barcelona. It would be great to have him here at United. Him, Depay and/or viktor Fischer are my preferred choice for players in the wide role this summer. He would not be another world class name thrown in the mixer, so the signing would be great for team unity.

They're fairly reliable, a lot of the bullshit that comes from them is normally them referencing English papers. This is their own story.

Fischer would be good, he's injured and could be out till next year though.

Would rather spend the money on Sanchez or di Maria.

I think if we get either Sanchez, Di Maria or Cuadrado we'll be laughing as all 3 are infinitely better than any of our current options on the wing.

Does anyone else see a little bit of Ronaldinho in him?
I'm just talking about the way he runs & dribbles with the ball - he seems to have a similar posture.

Obviously i'm not saying he's anywhere near as good or is it any indicator as to how good he will become. Just seems to have a similar technique to the god that is Ronaldinho (should still be in this Brazil squad but that's another debate).

This. Any one of them will be a massive upgrade on the current lot of wingers we have.

Is Cuadrado really infinitely better than Nani or Valencia though? Before this tournament I'd never even heard of him and it's not like he's a youngster.

Yep. Been one of the best wide players about this season.

With wingers they need to beat their man - they need pace, trickery, but most of all the confidence to try things knowing often they might fail. I can't say I've seen much of Cuadrado in the long run, so I don't know how often he meets all of these. However, one other thing I want from wingers is when they pick up the ball, they need to get bums off seats and get the heart racing. Watching him for Colombia, every time he's picked it up I'm excited to know what he'll do.

Weird that there'd been no mention of his name on this forum until he impressed at the WC in that case.

IMO his best attribute is his delivery. It's why he is raking up assists in the on going tournament.

There was a bit. We were linked with him since the turn of the year and sent scouts to watch him in April apparently.

I noticed that! Mentioned this to my mate the other day.

I'd love it if we sign this guy.

It's so good to hear about United's interest in quality wingers. I really don't know how Moyes couldn't see a need for one with skill, pace and nice shot.

We still have free numbers 7 and 11 for world class magicians and if this guy will happen to be our player than it's a proper upgrade for the team. Someone from Sanchez, Di Maria, Cuadrado plus Memphis and we have great wings for next 10 years with Januzaj as the one already for the future.

He's pretty much everything you'd want in a winger, complete with the ability to play on either wing and either keep the width or come inside as he's intelligent enough to take part in central linkup play too. He has a record of scoring and creating goals and a good attitude working up and down the pitch

Can play Right Wing,Right back ,Attacking center midfield and left Wing. What's not to like.

I heard he hasn't quite progressed as everyone expected and had a very bad season for Ajax. He didn't impress in the CL, certainly.

Just found out he is 26. I thought he was about 22. How has he been for Fiorentina this last season? I certainly wouldn't buy him off the back of this tournament and the money questioned is too much. Do all players cost 30M+ nowadays?

Must say I really enjoyed his performance against Uruguay.

Been their best player and one of the best wingers around.

He's very good, and versatile, and has had a better World Cup than Sanchez or Di Maria. We should definitely be looking for a pacey wide player; our quality options for the forward positions (RvP, Rooney, Mata, Januzaj) lack outright pace, and our quickest players lack overall ability. Cuadrado, Sanchez, Di Maria, Moura, Depay - they'd all be good options.

Whats Sanchez's playing style like in comparison to Cuadrado and Di Maria?

He's very exciting talent but I feel that of them three (Cuadrado, Di Maria and Sanchez) he's the least impressive and doesn't match the potential of the other two at the minute. Also, he's going to cost a lot.

Would rather have Cuadrado than Sanchez or di Maria because we have already have three world class attackers in Rooney, Mata, and Van Persie. We would need to balance those three or two out with players who is willing to work hard or has the enthusiasm of youth to improve upon their ability. Moreover, with Cuadrado, he may not demand a starting role in the same fashion of Sanchez or Di Maria, which will give more gametime to Januzaj, Welbeck, kagawa and perhaps some of our younger players. Like Van gaal, not a fan of having a team of superstars, but a fan of having a unified starting eleven.

what people forget is that Fiorentina just bought him last year for 20m €. It is normal (in todays market) that they expect 30-40m for him now. He made a huge step this season.
Just like Roma with Benatia or Strootman, they buy them for 10-20m € and sell for 30-40m.

You have defined Di Maria, to be honest. I'd take one of Di Maria, Cuadrado and then Sanchez, in that order. We have to shift a few so-called wingers though.
