Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

No problem, we all have different experiences in life. Next time you get a senior position in a firm that needs to do something different and the employees sabotage your efforts because they are adverse to change, let me know how it feels.

Fergie built a culture of "us and them", "never say die, and winning was the objective of the game". The senior players should have continued that with Moyes. Sure Moyes should have sold a vision, but the players should have backed him. I can't believe with Moyes experience that if something was proven not to work he would not change it. More importantly, the players should have done their job on the park. Too many didn't, and then they go running to board members like spoilt brats.

At the moment I am really bitter towards the players as I do feel they have let the club down in so many areas. Moyes, wasn't up to the task, but the attitude of so many players is appalling.
I agree wholeheartedly with all of that.

Good luck David, its a shame this didnt work out for you. Cant fault you for accepting a job even if it was outside your pay grade.

 So all's well now then. MU become just like every other club as they go down the road of sacking managers when things get tough. God help the next guy.

If that is true, shame on them.

Personally, I think if I was Moyes, I would have accepted that the job was to big and offered to resign. Then again, I think if the united board had balls they would have made it clear at Xmas, that it was top 4 or your out on your ear.

But players revolting as though they have anything to be proud about this year is a bit of a joke.

Why is it a joke? Is it the first time this has happened in the history of sports?

This is not the army where you have to respect and blindly follow the orders of your superior officer, even if he's the biggest bad*** mother****** in the known universe. Good man management is a major factor in any team sport. In our case the players had every right to think they deserved someone better than Moyes.

When RvP demanded to leave Arsenal cause he had lost faith in Wenger's ability to win a major title none of us United fans had any problems with that. Wasn't it then a shame? He also believes he must follow a special training schedule because of his injury problems. The best manager in the history of the game accepted his request, David Moyes didn't. If i was RvP i'd be pissed for sure.

We also have Vidic and Rio, who due to age and injuries must have special treatment. You can't just play them in each and every game just because you're so desperate for some wins and you count on their leadership skills to get them. They know their bodies can't handle so many games. I understand that Evra's best footballing days are behind him. But he's still one of the captains of the French national team. You have to show him some respect and at least have a talk with him about all these rumors that he's going to leave in the summer.

Plus there are numerous other things with Giggs, Nani (are Young and Valencia so much better?), not giving Welbeck and Hernandez more chances despite that they've saved the day for him in many occasions, calling Jones stupid the other day etc.

Last but not least is Moyes' egotism and lack tolerance when things were going from bad to worse. These players have achieved so many things by playing a certain style of football. Of course a new manager must instill his philosophy, but when things go wrong playing it safe is always the better option. Especially if the new manager hasn't won anything with his tactics and has no charisma to make the team believe in him. Why should the players continue to have faith in him when he's unproven and has led them from 1st to 7th? As Rio said back in the summer of 2002 when asked for the reasons he left Leeds: "I came to Man Utd because the have a great manager and they win trophies every year", or Keane back in 1992: "I joined them cause it seems that they'll be lifting trophies for the next decade".

Imo most anti-Moyes people here gave Moyes more than the benefit of a doubt. Honestly, i can't even feel sorry for him right now. He just seems like one of those mediocre people-in any profession- who gets super lucky and is given the job of his dreams despite the fact that other candidates are far more qualified... And he fails miserably.

Maybe you are right. It's just that he has left us in such a mire, I feel relieved more than sad. There will be a brief moment when I see him leave the Carrington that I will feel bad for him but I will immediately feel happy that he has left and we will get a better manager in.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy he is being sacked. It's the right thing to do. Feeling sorry for him would never be enough to keep him in the job.

But, I can approve his sacking yet feel sorry for what he has been through. Week in week out he goes in front of the media. He reads articles about what he has done to a giant club. He looks at the players he has contributed to being crap. He looks at the table and sees history written. It's not unfair, that's part of top level management. But separate that from being a human, just imagine how painful that must be. I don't think money can fix that feeling. The feeling you've made millions of people around the world angry/upset. That you've let them down. The club down.

Be careful what you wish for.

If we appoint Van Gaal we'll be looking for a new manager 24 months from now IMO.

Any news on who will take temp charge of the remaining games?

Now I feel bad for him! Hope he gets his health back. Seems to have aged 10 years since taking us on.

It's sad but I celebrated his sacking like we had just scored a goal.

What a relief. I was terrified that David Moyes was going to get all that money to spend on more Fellainis.

Best of luck to David Moyes. Its all part of the process, he did his best but it seemed more obvious as time went on that he wasn't the right man for the job. And to be honest, the results weren't the biggest problem for me, but rather his approach and mentality to taking over a Man United. He done a lot of things and said a lot of things I find difficult to agree with.

Wish him the best of luck, unfortunate but far.

Naah, we gave him much more time than other clubs would have. You do have to cut your losses at some point though.

I completely understand what you are saying. Maybe I was just waiting for the official confirmation. Now I actually feel a bit bad for him.
