Can't stop smiling......
As much as this is necessary, this is hardly something to be smiling about. He is still a Manchester United manager and regardless of whether he is shite or not, we shouldn't be smiling. It's embarrassing that this has happened in the first place. Feeling relieved is fine in that it shows club is not blind to the crap but I'm hardly smiling because this is a man that was hand picked by the boss to succeed and retain our success. He has failed abysmally so and I think that's something more to be sad about than happy.

It is embarassing but if anything it has taken a bit of pressure off the next guy to come in.

I've been sad about it for months, it's time to be happy that it's over and we can be excited about the future again.

So when Hitler died people should have been more sad about the failings of the German system than happy about his death?

Sweet. First Moyes-Hitler comparison of the day wrapped up and it's not even 5am.

This really. Feels like it's the end of the season when you get all excited for next season and the potential, even though there's another month. Go back 24 hours and our future with moyes looked depressing really. Now we can look forward to winning again, playing good, attacking football, and back to normal United basically.

Agree. There is nothing to smile here. I was in support Moyes camp but the disastrous season both results and performance wise means there can be no complaints about his sacking and it is probably for the good of the club. That said it is actually sad to see a manager fail this way and a manager we all know is good but probably it was a step up too much for him. That SAF had handpicked him makes it even more sad.

Sorry but I can't be this relieved and not let a smile out.

It's like you're losing 2-0 away, and then in the last minute you score a goal! You don't just smile, you fecking celebrate! Because even though we still lost the game, there is still a lot of hope now that we may succeed!

This really should have been over yesterday. It hit the press an hour before the exchange opened so that's no excuse. It's just cruel now.

Same. We're just heading back to work after a week off (Easter break) and this has made going to work no problem at all!

I went to bed smiling, too, but when I got up nothing had happened.

Is vivaronaldo a girl? I can't believe a simple "Can't stop smiling" post got so many and such elaborate responses. I have posted about having ecstatic feelings on this news and nobody gives a shit! :D

It'll be official at about 9.30am, I'd guess.

Well, yeah I'm sad, but you know, from the beginning when fergie said, I'm leaving. And we were, like.. Oh shit. And he said, yeah don't worry here's the new dude and we were like, OKaaaay, and he was like, yeah trust me, he's gonna be good, and we were like.... Well... If you say so. Then he came in and we were like shit, no, really shit and he was like, yeah just... Dunno... Need some time like, and we were like, Okaaaay, then he got this expensive dude, but was shit, then and even more expensive dude and then played him all over the place so he looked shit, then he was like, it's the squad, they're too old and our biggest rivals beat us, then they beat us again and we were like Okaaaay, but we were told he needed time, then we got beaten again and then again, and we looked preetty stoopid and our mates laughed at us, but we were told to still give the new dude time so we sai, well, maybe, then we got knocked out of europe and well we're not getting back in, then we got beaten again it's like, who really is this dude and whats he doing here. Then they said, don't worry, he's going! And we said, yeah!

Then they said, Van Gaal dude will be coming in, trust us he's gonna be good and we said, ah shit!

I need to go to bed now, i think I'm drunk.

Anyone else think we should give Warren Joyce the lead for the rest of the season? I really like him and wouldn't mind seeing him take over at another club to see how he does.

Or potentially on a intensive scouting trip paid for by the Dutch FA?
I think so too! Imagine all the people he's meeting at the world. Up and all the watching of top players playing for their respective countries and maybe having a chance talking to then even. It's occasion. Like that where you do the network and get business done as well sometimes!

Well I hope, if it is true that he is going, that there are no senior players that come out with negative comments that try and justify their own performances.

Apart from DDG, there is not one player that can hold his head up this year. They have been shocking. The effort against Everton was disgusting. Lost every 70-30 ball in our favour because many couldn't be arsed.

Never thought Moyes was the right person, but always supported him through thick and thin. But, when I see $300K a week spoilt brats not giving a shit it pi*ses me off more.

I'm beginning to think this isn't going to happen and we'll see a statement to the contrary.

I'm beginning to think this isn't going to happen and we'll see a statement to the contrary.

As far as I have read, the Independent and the Telegraph both have said that Moyes would have to take the morning training session and then the formalities would be completed. So I would suggest people to have patience till about 1500 hours today. 1500 uk time is the start time of NYSE and is also well beyond the end of the training session to complete the formalities. After that, we would have to wait till 2100 uk time again for the NYSE to close. If the news doesn't come by then, let's panic.

Too many papers reporting this as a done deal with no word from the club. If he was safe the club would have made it straight. Exactly the same as the fergie retirement thing. The club will talk and sack moyes in the morning and then make a statement. It was Easter Monday yesterday so I imagine the staff where enjoying the day with their families.

That will be really awkward. What's the point?!

My cock is out and ready. Today is the day the nightmare ends.

Is there any truth in the stuff about the NYSE having to be informed first?
Not really, according to the NYSE website, the rules state that any major change should be reported immediately.

I think this is more of an issue of getting a statement together and the relevant people having time to go over it and send it out. Also, I read this morning that apparently, the players knew Moyes was getting sacked before the Everton game and someone has leaked this information, which may mean that they were planning on letting Moyes go at the end of the season, not now.

Anyway, once they go public Moyes will no longer be in charge, as we know, these things take a while to ensure everything is in order. We'll get a statement around lunch time today, just watch and wait.

It was probably just a set-up to get Ferdinand. They told him and he leaked it the bastard.

Probably to say the final few words. Surely we would have had an off day for the players on 21st after having played on the 20th?
That would be interesting to see.

Moyes: "We had some good times, didn't we?"

Players: "........"

Moyes: "Okay. Bye."

Players: "........"
