Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

I feel kind of sorry for Moyes, it's not nice to seem someone lose their job. I couldn't imagine how he's feeling right now. Ruined his reputation by taking a job too good to turn down.

But he has to go, clearly hasn't worked out for him. The reports suggest he lost the dressing room very early on, it seemed like he was doomed from then.

And he is now despised at the place he spent 11 years. He has nowhere to turn to.

P.s I knew after listening to his comments in the summer that he would never have the dressing room. He got rid of everybody(coaches) and followed up by insulting the squad before even playing a game. He was a dead man walking very early on. I just wish we didn't have to wait this long. he should have been sacked in October(at the latest).

Yep, but I suppose the money he will get from United will help him get over it. I wonder what his next managerial job will be.

I feel sorry for him too. You always wanted to be the guy who replaced the guy who replaced Sir Alex. Not the one replacing him. I think Moyes will be ok though. He'll lick his wounds and get a job somewhere. He's still capable at a lot of EPL sides. Other clubs would be foolish to ignore him.

He can turn to 4.5 million pounds, how unhappy can anyone be with that kind of money.

I think Moyes would gladly turn in that money if he could regain his reputation.

He is only 50 years old. He still had a long future as a manager. Now he will never coach a big club again.

I think Geoff Shreeves might get the worse of enduring Van Gaal, so much that Geoff would ask his bosses to be sent elsewhere. To show the best of Van Gaal, here's some for fun:

He is awesome. We need someone to give the players a bollocking when the perform gutless. Add to that the fact that Van Gaal actually is tactically astute and makes his teams play tactically intelligent football, I won't mind him. The fact that he was close to getting appointed as our manager when fergie decided to retire in 2002 adds weight.

Where do you think he could go though? I know people are linking him with Spurs but I just don't see it, I think if he takes another Premier League side it would be a side like Villa, Swansea or West Brom.

What's Van Gaal like in the transfer window?

I've read a fair bit that he doesn't like to spend. I think one of the German guys on here said the board at Bayern basically bought Toni, Ribery etc because Van Gaal wouldn't.

You could argue he never warranted a job at a big club in the first place.

? I'm talking about the video of him as a pundit. Seems like an obvious skit to me.
I know. But if you know his personality, you wouldn't even think about it.

He is really that way. He's known to have poor relationships with pretty much everybody (star players, boards, press, ...).

The good thing is that he will finally put to rest the nonsense about our squad being shite.

Having seen this Dutch team, I can't imagine Van Gaal going too far in the WC.

Spurs won't want him. It'd be a midtable side. Maybe Villa or someone. Not sure Swansea would, conflicts with their philosophy.

He can coach Newcastle or take his family and live a millionaire's life drinking pinacoladas on the beach and play golf. 4,5 million is a lot of money, meanwhile you and me can go back to work and real problems tomorrow.

Not a bad shout that actually.

I know his personality. It's still an obvious sketch to me. Seems very scripted. All it was missing was the laugh track.

4.5 million is not that much money for you to live a "millionaire's lifestyle"(maybe for a little while). That really isn't that much money.

Surely he had to go "up" after the job he did st Everton. The United job may have been 'too big' but what else is there. Spurs? Arsenal, City, Chelsea? Or abroad? International?

To be honest, if he does get sacked then I think the decision will be a very fair one. Seeing as how it is the end of the season and after 35 match days in the Premiership, 8 games of Champions league football, a few FA Cup matches and a poor showing in the League Cup, we still haven't a clue what the football philosophy of the club currently is. I said it many times before, if we can see something developing, such as a style of play or a specific philosophy coming into fruition I would be inclined to say time was needed. However, after nearly 9 months of football I still cannot see any clear cut direction our football is going in.

I'm sure we all expected to not be challenging this year given the changes at the club, but i'm also sure we expected some sort of competitiveness from us this year. We have been turned over by nearly every half decent team we've come up against.

He just hasn't done enough to prove that he is the right man for the job. It's time to move on. No need to feel sorry for him, this is part of the deal.

It would be 4.5m + the 4.5m he has had from this year + any signing on bonus he may have had + his earnings from Everton + any money he has got from doing TV appearances.

He is a very very rich man and he never took me for the kind of party boy anyway, so I doubt he would spunk 9 million on cocaine, hookers and gambling.

He'll probably do some tv work, maybe write a book, take a break and then go to work at another club.

We should not be feeling sorry for him because of the money. I do feel sorry for him for the whole worldwide humiliation and embarrassment though.
