Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Very surprised to be honest, I was sure that the club would give him at least up til December to prove himself.

Doesn't make sense to. In fact it'd be stupid. We need to make use of this summer with someone who we have belief in, and more importantly, the players have belief in. The next season is still going to be a settling in period, for players and manager. There's no point prolonging that. We also don't want Moyes to have that money to spend.

I don't feel sorry for him. He knew the job he was taking on. He probably knew he wasn't up to it, but took a punt anyway. Personally for him, fair enough for that, but for the club, he shouldn't have taken the job.

The longer this goes with no official word the more nervous I'm getting...just get rid of him so I can sleep well tonight!

Finally I caught up to the final page. Everytime I clicked on a new page, another one appears.
If you don't mind would you give me a quick summary? i just logged in and I am sure by the time i go through 50 pages, 10-15 more would be added..:nervous:

With the mess we could end up dealing with come the summer as a result of Moyes alienating and disillusioning so many players, ones that we really could do with staying, we might not be able to deal with the Fellaini situation. Manage to convince Nani to stay though and we could afford to let Young go.
Hope not - imo nani should move, a solution which suits both parties. It's two years now since he went Awol.

So does that mean David Moyes will still be here in 2019?
Is Gareth Bale still under contract at Tottenham and will be until 2017?
Did Cristiano Ronaldo see out his contract at United last summer?

Contracts mean jack in modern football.
None of those situations are even remotely the same in context, so I fail to see the point you're trying to make in relation to Klopp who actually genuinely loves it at Dortmund.

It surely had to come to this. That he would actually still be in charge next season after showing how utterly out of depth and out of touch he is would be the real tragedy. If he'd still be in charge next season everyone at the club would be equally incompetent.

Thank feck for some journos and pundits actually talking about the reality of things rather than take part in this emperor's new clothes fantasy world.

Who was it he attempted to blind by gouging their eye again?
He poked some guy in the eye, you could hardly call it "attempting to blind", otherwise Fellaini was attempting to knock people's heads off with all his elbowing.

And you pity Moyes because? He's not earning as much as the players granted but he also does not need to keep fit and motivated to perform on the pitch. He's being very dishonest by discrediting our players (saying even SAF would have struggled with this team, a team who just won the league title not so long ago).

He signed Fellaini and got Rooney a lucrative weekly wage and dare not sub him nor left him out when he's injured and yet to recovered. He's not being honest nor capable from start to finish, by bringing in his own men to replace experienced united coaches even it's not Sir Alex's preference he wouldn't.

He's not giving his players confidence by constantly projecting man united is a mid table team by expressing zero confidence in the media. He kept breaking records for United within 8 months and looked he's not having a clue how he could deploy his players properly. And he's not working for free. Why would you feeling bad for him? He's deceiving the club, the players and the fans by not delivering and yet keeping the job knowing long ago he's out of his depth in the job!
He is earning more than the majority of our players. 5.8m pounds a year, I don't think that more than 5 players on our team get that money. He is the 7th highest paid manager on the world, gets 2m more than Pellegrini and Klopp together.

I've heard from a friend who works within sky sports that a decision should be made tonight and that it will be in support of moyes - make of that what you will. :(

Its a bank holiday in UK today, needs to be a board meeting to make a decision. No doubt this meeting is happening tomorrow.

SAF is partially to blame. There, I said it! The midfield. The Rooney situation. The choice of successor. The midfield.
And the success we've had with him in the last 20 years...

I mean think about it, if we haven't been this successful in the past 20 years, would Moyes look this bad??

He might well, but it must grate that every summer you have to basically stand by while the Bayern Munich manager takes a look around your house like a baliff.

Yeah, it'd be kind of ironic for our fans to want Klopp to come here long-term, while in the process he goes back on saying he'd see out his contract at Dortmund. Not that I wouldn't take him if he did (he won't) but surely if we want someone long-term, then we'd want someone who stands by their word?

That is shocking if it's true

What time does Monday Night Football begin? I'd like to hear Gary's views.

He should have egg all over his fecking face! he stated quite categorically that Moyes wouldn't be sacked...he'd be given time etc.I've no idea what he saw in the man from the outset

Wouldn't worry, apparently we can't even announce something till after the NY stock exchange closes, for reasons I have no idea of. You don't get that many journos certain of something at once without there being substance.

Oh where to start? UWS, Telegraph and a lot of sources ran with the 'Moyes to be sacked' story. Presumably having been briefed by the club. Then, no announcement from the club was forthcoming, then it was assumed due to the NYSE trading and any news having to wait after 4 PM EST. Another thought is United leaked the story hoping to pressurize Moyes to sell. There are a lot of sub stories like Danny Welbeck fake tweet which caused Moyes to resign, speculation on Van Gaal and Klopp, Bielsa to Marseille and Black extending contract with his current club. We still don't have a last word yet, but Talksport and BBC contacted United and they responded with the standard 'Moyes is still manager, won't comment on the long term as they are speculation'.

Apparently staff have been told there will be some news tomorrow, nobody knows what news. It could be the tea lady's retirement.

You'll know better than me, but I like Fellaini. He is overpriced but that not his fault. If used correctly, surely he has a place in our squad?
I'm not judging him on his price. His style simply does not suit United we've grown to admire over the years. He's slow, lazy, and plays more with his elbows than feet.

I imagine Neville will be vague. "Not sure what to make of it"..."He's obviously not met expectations"..."Players are also to blame"..."The club didn't back him in the summer"..."Nothing confirmed yet so why are we talking about this"..."4-4-2 is Manchester United".
