Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

That is impossible but I have the same hope as you that Fellaini will soon follow Moyes. Him and Young give me headaches when I see them playing for us.

With the mess we could end up dealing with come the summer as a result of Moyes alienating and disillusioning so many players, ones that we really could do with staying, we might not be able to deal with the Fellaini situation. Manage to convince Nani to stay though and we could afford to let Young go.

There is something very uncomfortable about the resemblance between RVP and Strootman. Did they grow up in the same neighbourhood? What did the milkman look like?

Those were the parts of him being just shit and having low ambition (although probably he was trying to manipulate our fans the same way he did with Everton fans for the last 5 years). But him blaming everything except David Moyes was something I really disliked on him and goes against his reoutation of a nice bloke. He has acted on this year worse than Mourinho in any single year (without the results of course).

That's very true, his worst quote has to be the one about Sir Alex would have struggled, this despite that fact Sir Alex has not taken us out of the top 3 for 2 decades.

I hope this is getting lost in translation? There is simply no chance that Moyes has ever behaved worse than Maureen.

John from oxford is pleading the board not to sack moyes (mutv)

27 Million, and a 5 year contract is an expensive mistake.

You can sell Fellaini easily for £15m, more than enough teams will be in for him at that price. Makes it perhaps a £12m waste. Moyes was set on a £6m a year contract for 6 years, from which we'll have to payoff the remaining 5 years (£30m) if we want to get rid of him and has caused alot of damage in the process, first and foremost he was the person resposible for signing Fellaini for £27.5m (so it is mistake and his failure in fact). On top of that he lost out on the CL which could easily cost us around £40m of revenue next year and he is responsible for signing Rooney on a 5 year deal worth £78m in wages, not to speak of the image damage he has cost us, because right now we are seen as a club in shambles, that can't play for shit and is in need of a massive rebuilding job.

But no the affroman is worse...

if it's true, then there was obviously a clause in the contract saying he had to get top four, seeing as it's only now that it's mathematically impossible for us to achieve it.

My first thought too. Can't say the board didn't do all they could.

Strootman looks like the rugged younger brother. Their little duo could rival Juan and De Gea if he were to join ;)
Is he out for the World Cup?

Plus he was left with egg in his face with his comments last summer about Everton in that they were blocking the careers of Fellaini and Baines, even though we now sit 12 points behind them.

I was behind him until he blatantly showed he lacked the balls to drop rvp or rooney when necessary. Now? hoping and praying that it is true

I fail to feel sorry for someone on so much money, this isn't an underprivileged bloke losing his livelihood.

Money isn't everything to be fair, he's been given the chance of his dream job and really blown it. As a pride point of view it'd be a horrible feeling for him and one where he has probably limited his own career.

Yes it's a nice pay out but I'm sure he'd rather be a success than have a massive pay cheque for failure.

He's a decent enough human being so it's not nice to see someone do so miserably. The problem with sports is people have a habit of taking it personally when something doesn't work out it can get nasty, it's not nice to see people fail in my opinion and it's a shame it didn't work out for him, both for the club and also the person involved.

I might just be watching a different sport to the rest of you; but Mourinho: "I am the Special One". Moyes: " We must strive to be like Manchester City".

How does he think hes gods gift to earth?
He said something along these lines:

'Man United was right to chose me'.
'Everton'z achievement this year are because of me and the squad I left'.
'If I was an Everton fan I would have appluaded David Moyes' when they gave an applause after his last game there.
'Player's weak mentality cost us'.
'Phil Jones' stupid mistake'.
'I sent United on the quarters of UCL'.
'Our squad isn't as strong'
'We need 6-7 world class players to win UCL'.
'The schedule of EPL is deliberate against United'
'Kagawa ate too much so he can't play'
'With all due respect Pep got the champions of Europe so he had an easy task compared to me'.
'I wasn't 15 or so points worse than this year, I was at Everton' when he was asked is it because of him why United are so much worse than last year.
'Sir Alex would have struggled with this squad this year'

Etc, etc. In fact, when Moyes get sacked it would be a great thread to put all his quotes there (similar to B20' thread about Hodgson).

Huh? What has Mourinho ever done that is worse than trying to deflect blame on the Sir Alex for this disastrous season?

That was probably the point I started hating Moyes the person.

This is going to turn out to be bollocks isn't it? Just as I've gotten my hopes up that the club will correct the mistake they made last summer and appoint someone who has won things and has modern ideas on tactics.

He'll still be manager at the start of next season and well 'try' to do a bit better and aim for 6th.

No not happening we have seen it with other teams not ours for a long time, its nailed on he's getting potted ,send the signals out to the media and pot him the next day, its not nice but its how its done.

Louis Van Gaal.

The players...those highly paid athletic professionals who should have pride in the shirt and play for the shirt regardless of who the manager is? No sympathy.

The club...who are under seemingly intense fan/media pressure to make a decision when they appeared to have made a long term one last year? Some sympathy, they're in a tough spot.

The fans? No sympathy whatsoever. It's football, not life. A disappointing season is a miniscule problem.
And you pity Moyes because? He's not earning as much as the players granted but he also does not need to keep fit and motivated to perform on the pitch. He's being very dishonest by discrediting our players (saying even SAF would have struggled with this team, a team who just won the league title not so long ago).

He signed Fellaini and got Rooney a lucrative weekly wage and dare not sub him nor left him out when he's injured and yet to recovered. He's not being honest nor capable from start to finish, by bringing in his own men to replace experienced united coaches even it's not Sir Alex's preference he wouldn't.

He's not giving his players confidence by constantly projecting man united is a mid table team by expressing zero confidence in the media. He kept breaking records for United within 8 months and looked he's not having a clue how he could deploy his players properly. And he's not working for free. Why would you feeling bad for him? He's deceiving the club, the players and the fans by not delivering and yet keeping the job knowing long ago he's out of his depth in the job!

The unhappiness of Giggs and now Welbeck might have caused him problems. Both players are loved by SAF. Insisting Rooney gets a big contract also, after SAF was ready to ship him out the door.

Nope. I meant exactly what I said. Mourinho's press are much better than how Moyes was this year.

SAF is partially to blame. There, I said it! The midfield. The Rooney situation. The choice of successor. The midfield.
