Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Autonomy yes, but money? Not really, liverpool have no way near the resources the other top 4 do and thats not including us. They were perilously close to going into administration before the new guys turned up. They'll get back to being rich with couple of years of cl football but not at the moment.

And they posted a £50M loss last year.

Maybe Jose will get sacked too if Atletico knocks them out. More the reason we should let Giggsy take the reins and see how the summer pans out.

I don't feel sorry for the man at all. He's been arrogant, petulant, and egotistical since he has been here.

The man acted like he was the greatest gift to football and is now about to be humbled.

Barcelona is a better job than us currently, and certainly last summer.

It maybe this summer after the disastrous Moyes reign, but last summer?

Both clubs won the league in 2012/13...

If Moyes is sacked, I would've thought that top managers would be fighting for this job:

  • Huge club
  • You get to come in to a situation where the expectations have been massively lowered
  • Massive budget available from your first transfer window, to spend as you like (no DOF or meddling owners)
  • Very faithful and supportive fans
well....

Van Gaal for three years, and then Klopp?
If klopp actually wants to come to us after 2017/18 then definitely. But managers don't make such a decisions in a acne nor so they make such commitments so it's not actually possible. We have to make the best possible appointment as things stand.

Stop spoiling GOT. I'm yet to start watching season 1. I ended up googling Westeros and reading things I shouldn't have read.

Who? Moyes?!

Yeah, I will quite enjoy seeing him kicked out the door. He's a joke.

I should edit that with "fans in the stadium".

Do you think the fans of Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Madrid, Barcelona et al would be still singing his name as recently as ours have?

Unlikely, surely Abramovich knows about "Jose's 2nd season"... :nervous:

Knew a guy that worked for the bank their loans were attached to he said they were 'two months away from administration'.

Different story now, but they arent completely in the clear supposedly. (Im not sure I agree with that last bit, certainly not now)

Hasn't Van Persie been seen a few times with Van Gaal, i'm sure we have lined him to replace Moyes.

I genuinely feel really sorry for him.

I feel sorry for him to an extent but he does have to go rreally it's reached a point where there really seems no improvement and that's the real worry.

As I said, I do also feel bad for him, you've landed your dream job and can't turn it down, his chance to finally prove himself and in probably the hardest job in football as a successor, he would of gone in full of confidence and despite what people are saying in hindsight about how he was outstaying his welcome at Everton he did d a good job there and prove he's a good manager.

In less than a season his reputation is in tatters, he'll get another job but I'd think he's going to struggle for a top job again due to this big failure, even with Hodgson at Liverpool he can argue they weren't that great before but Moyes took the champions and made them very average.

What's even worse for Moyes is that the club he left and the one he would of had a job for life at has actually improved without him, making his reputation even worse now. It really was a massive mistake for him to take the job really, his one get out clause could of been if Everton would be shit he could argue it's cos he's left, not even that has happened. Been an awful year for him.

Utd was a huge job and seeing as it was the first time it had become available since 86 it was a very unique opportunity that very very few would refuse.

It's still a huge job, maybe even safer now that the only way is up from here.

Yes. It surely has nothing to do with Van Gaal being the Holland coach and Van Persie the Holland captain.

Completely agree. I dont know where this 'nice guy' tag has come from.

Perhaps its easy to think that of a person that looks constantly confused with life

If that is true then my God:lol:
It was widely reported back then that Moyes wasn't sure about Thiago and his 'dithering' about him gave Bayern the oppurunity to sign him. Thiago's dad said that we didn't want Thiago as much as Bayern while Thiago denied the interest from us. However, with all those reporters reporting the same thing and De Gea joke with him makes me believe that it was something there. However, I don't think that we would have signed him anyway with Pep trying to sign him and Pep's brother as his agent.

However going for Fellaini instead of Herrera (who would have cost only 3m more) was disgraceful. There was a midfielder who would have fixed half of our midfield and then there was an another midfielder who wouldn't fix anything but Moyes went for the wrong one. And then there are other midfielders who changed sides like McCarthy, Strootman and Kongodbia who would have cost half as much as Fellaini. And the ice on the cake was our club refusing to sign De Rossi because of his 15-20m pricetag bu then paying 10m more for Fellaini. I mean, that is as insane as you can go.

I fail to feel sorry for someone on so much money, this isn't an underprivileged bloke losing his livelihood.

Very surprised to be honest, I was sure that the club would give him at least up til December to prove himself.

I thought I'd post this seeing as people are still mentioning Klopp. This is a recent statement. The guy turned down barca for feck sake.

People won't listen, they'll just think we can throw money at him and he'll come. That or if they wish hard enough it will happen.

That's true. So-called internet "fans" are another breed, especially the once who live on twatter...who will get nervous having no-one to pick on in the immediate future. Maybe they ll console themselves with Fellaini and Cleverley until they target someone else.

He turned down Barcelona. Honestly, stop living in denial.
Man United is a good challenge compared to Barca though. His job would be to take us back to top 4 and play good football. What's not to like? The pressure (and our club culture and current circumstances) is not the same as managing Barca. Never say never

Tito had underwhelmed, following him would've been easy for a good manager. The person coming into the united job would be replacing Sir Alex Ferguson.

Aye. Muppets be muppets sadly.
