Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

I know TalkSport and Collymore are not like but they haven't said anything crazy. They've simply said that Moyes has not been sacked. He probably hasn't been sacked just yet but we're in the process of it.

yes. nice to see a rational post amongst the noise on here. i think you're right. he is being sacked/agreeing terms etc.

The exact words the club used were

"He's not been sacked"

Very careful choice of words there.

"Guys, we're 7th in the league"
"Nah, it's grand, keep him"
"... we went out of the CL"
"Nope, he's fine"
"he spent 27m on afrodude"
"Good signing imo"
"We got smashed by Liverpool, City, Everton and Chelsea"
"No no no, stop it now, we're keeping him."
"... Welbeck wants to leave"
"Get him the f*ck out right now!"

Tbh Moyes' staunchest defenders nahealai and tomalonge would probably drive Welbeck to Spurs themselves if it meant Moyes got another season to build his own squad.

There's more movement in this thread than most of United's players this season.

They're probably giving him the full hairdryer in the boardroom with a slideshow of every feck up he has had this season, with detailed analysis.

Guess we'll wait until tomorrow for the meeting to finish!

It looks like there was a clause in the contract about a top 4 finish.

He would have been gone long ago hadn't not been for that.

It would have been pretty strange of we gave the man a 6 year contract without some kind of minimum requirements. Especially a manager that has won absolutely nothing for the duration of his 11 years with Everton.

There must have been some performance related clauses in that 6-year contract that they all had a good laugh at around the table when signing.

"Finish lower than 6th, better watch out! Haha"

Somewhere in Old Trafford...

Supposedly United can't announce it during trading hours, which seems unusual. That means it will be 4:30 in NY before it can be officially announced.
Stock is off slightly. Price may not change much jf the market already factored his sacking into account.

Makes me wonder about the 10% pop in price last week. I speculated it was a short squeeze-but maybe this was in the works for at least a week.

Where is this coming from ?

We're all thinking it to be fair, it's logical.. I wouldn't think a multi million dollar footballing franchise would give a lucrative 6 year contract to a guy who hasn't won anything in 11 years without some clauses and some minimum requirements.

How do we know for sure there is a clause ?

We dont obviously. Its just people thinking about how connections. Its been speculated for a while that not getting a top 4 spot was a get out clause for us. Yesterday, it became impossible for us to finish top 4 and today him about to be sacked is everywhere.

Where is this coming from ?
ESPN said that we supposedly don't have to pay more than a year's severance.

Also, as I said at the start, it is quite 'convenient' that it's happening the day after it's finally mathematically impossible for us to get top four.
