Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

I'd be relieved for Manchester United but a bit sad for the man. He clearly got a job much above his station and has his managerial reputation in tatters as a result of it.
Or, alternatively, he got an opportunity that the vast, vast majority of the world's population can only dream of and he fecked it up.

What? He got once in a lifetime opportunity for someone of his qualities.

Adrian Durham just announced on TalkSport that they "have been in touch with United and the press manager said 4 words to them re: Moyes - Definitely not been sacked."

Because people have had enough of him and he represents everything that has gone wrong this season, and because he has made a lot of damage to us.

In all my posts about him (more than a thousand) I think that I have only once him a 'clown' (After yesterday's game when he thought that we have played well after a debacle) which is the biggest offense I have made to him.
I m not referring specifically to you...but I ve seen a lot worse than "clown" - someone even expressed his personal hatred. Mind you, I don t think that he s the only one to blame for this disastrous season.

I just hope that the Board's decision is based purely on footballing issues and not because a section of fans wanted him out (some of them from day 1).

Exactly. And also got a shitload of money to basically do the worst possible job.

Can't say I'm surprised.

Without meaning to sound self-congratulatory (not sure what kudos there is in being in-line with the Glazers anyway), There were quite a few of us who had always been prepared to go along with the logic of keeping him, but got to the point yesterday of saying enough is enough.
I kind of felt that if he had become untenable to me, and to others in my position, he couldn't be far from becoming untenable to the owners.

Sad business all round. He'll go with my best wishes for his future endeavours, but he dies need to go.

4 words? Either he can't count or the 4 words were Moyes has been sacked.

It will probably be announced as "mutual agreement." So it's true, he hasn't been sacked. Even though he effectively has.

Collymore says United have said he's definitely not being sacked.

This is ridiculous.

One question which springs to mind is what Fergie thinks about this. Is he (and Sir Bobby, for that matter) on the same page as the Glazers? I certainly hope so. If this leads to SAF distancing himself from the club it would be a bloody tragedy, whatever one may think about his recommendation of Moyes.

Well if he isn't, and indeed he distances himself from the club that is his prerogative. He is the former manager and a non-executive Director, not the owner nor indeed the Chief Executive. The board were happy to accept his recommendation, and they have been patient whilst providing large funds to support that recommendation. He has failed spectacularly and if indeed they are now making the correct decision Ferguson will have to swallow his pride and accept it.

Same applies to Sir Bobby. They recommended their man and it hasn't worked out, now the decision is out if their hands. I'm sure if Moyes had at least shown he has a clear handle on the job he wouldn't be under pressure, but businessmen protecting their primary asset can't tolerate someone who is so out of tune.

Ok, this is starting to feel like the Herrera thread. Probably three impostors convinced the Telegraph.
