Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Is anyone really worried? The season is almost over, we've got nothing left to play for other than an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa (would be nice, but not a major deal) and it's not like it could get any worse than it already has.

I suspect some here feared Giggs would be given a long term contract. Hence the hysteria.

Ogden tweeted "Moyes to be sacked". It's happening, no need to worry. Just a matter of preparing the statement for release I'd imagine.

This is dead certain. When all the media universally report a sacking, it's never in doubt.

Onto the next question: Who next?

Doesn't this tend to happen to most businesses with this sort of speculation - primarily because of the uncertainty of the imcumbent's position and who the future manager could be?

Is the Stock Exchange thing true? Wasn't Fergie's announcement made early in the morning UK time, long before the stock market had opened state-side?

I like Bielsa but he's far too mental for us.

Has to be Klopp, LVG or Simeone.
Bielsa actually is a more mental version of Van Gaal - whom bar Bielsa is the most mental manager around. I would like him here if those three you mentioned aren't available (though LVG likely is).

If we sack him, I'm sure they already have someone in mind. And that someone is not likely to be Simeone, who seems to be going places with Atletico.

No, I didn't. I said you had no idea whether it was true or not. Why do you have to lie?

Here is what you actually said

Spin, spin, spin. You took a baseless tweet as an excuse to have a shot at the Glazers, and made yourself look like an ass in the process. Live with it and move on.

How have I made myself look like an ass? A pop at the Glazers? You are a very strange poster. I said IF it was true. And its not a baseless tweet. Its a journalist saying that other journalists have been briefed and now we have SSN playing out the exact same scenario. Moyes 'could be sacked'. If that isn't forcing resignation I don't know what is. Strange reaction from you to a perfect normal post from me. Very odd.

We should just wait until the day Liverpool become champions. If they do, then reveal it an hour later so it trumps their news.

ffs I miss a few hours on the caf and this thread goes viral. I can't read it all obviously so would anyone be kind enough to summarize what the hell has been going on ?

One question which springs to mind is what Fergie thinks about this. Is he (and Sir Bobby, for that matter) on the same page as the Glazers? I certainly hope so. If this leads to SAF distancing himself from the club it would be a bloody tragedy, whatever one may think about his recommendation of Moyes.
Sounds blunt, but if that's the case, so be it. Everything the club does has to be in the best interests of Manchester United, not Sir Alex or Sir Bobby.

How is he guessing when he is tweeting that the club have briefed journalists? He is actually a journalist! As opposed to just a random member of the caf 'guessing'.

Forgive me for actually putting some stock in what he is saying, namely that United have briefed journalists and are trying to force a resignation. And as my original post said IF this is true its pretty poor form.

Sorry to you and Lance and Bross for allowing the possibility that the Glazers would behave in this way to be true.

We'll see, the club could announce he is sacked now if they like. They are not doing that. So the Honegstein tweet is consistent with what is happening.

I was laughed at by some on here last week when I said there was something in the Van Gaal story. Looks like was right - at least about Moyes being on the way out - why don't you all give the story time to develop and let my original IF have some space before dismissing the possibility that its true.

I swear, between the 'celebrations' in this thread and folks reactions to the idea that the Glazers are forcing resignation, I really do wonder. What sort of posters are on here anymore.

the "Celebrations" are probably sheer relief that it looks possible that the worst season in 20+ years might not be repeated next year. And that we don't lash 100s of mills away achieving it
