Do you feel sorry for him when
1. he sacked the back room staff who won trophies with sir Alex?
2. He signed Fellaini (not united quality)
3. Blamed the players and not himself
4. Blamed sir Alex for leaving him a bad team
5. Constantly showed his lack of confidence in himself and players
etc...

None of these were foreseen by anyone, not sir Alex! He let everyone down, particularly sir alex

I know, I know.. that's why I said I feel sorry for the club, too, this is one crappy mess we've ended up in. But strangely yes I still feel a little sorry for him.. has been totally out of his depth here - But once he got offered the job, without even a darn interview, he'd of course take it no doubt. We shouldn't have got him in the first place, least of all without even interviewing a set of available candidates.

Be careful what you wish for.

If we appoint Van Gaal we'll be looking for a new manager 24 months from now IMO.

Any news on who will take temp charge of the remaining games?

That's not a bad thing though Carl. We need a manager experienced with big clubs to help us through the transition period and get us to the other side still in one piece. Van Gaal would be that man. It's the appointment we should have made last summer, experienced head to calm everyone down.

I am angry right now. All season, we've been saying he can't be too bad as he needs another summer. Then he goes and fecks it all up.

There was a rebuilding job to be done here. The new manager will be probably want to assess the players before shipping out the ones Moyes knew had to go by now. How's he going to rebuild when he comes in with a fresh slate?

I was looking forward to deadwood like Kagawa, Hernandez, Nani and Welbeck being replaced with proper wingers that will cross and track back. Now I am left fearing for the future of loyal stalwarts like Valencia and Young.

So f*cked up.

Might be or else his name would have definitely been doing the rounds..
He's not coming out of retirement after a treble winning season with one of the best ever squads assembled to take over a club that finished 7th and needs a major overhaul to get back to it's winning ways. He's almost 70 years old, doubt he'd be up for a job like ours.

I thank David Moyes for his efforts and his time as manager of Manchester United, however he has proven to be inept in this demanding job and there was no other choice but to sack him before he ruined the club even more. Wish him all the best in his next job, he will be more than financially compensated and perhaps a lower end premiership team or a League championship team might give him a chance to resurrect his career one day.

One thing I want to add: Rio Ferdinand is a disgusting moron. Muddled the waters as soon as he could, I bet he's one of the main reasons Moyes lost the dressing room.

I'd fecking hate it if he sticks around now.

Money doesn't restore confidence, the belief. He obviously would be hurting very much. Any failure breaks a man's heart. This was a huge failure.
Yeah true, wish I could have had the same though when I got sacked from a job in a dry cleaners many years ago!

Yey finally, that's some good news. I'm glad we sacked that clown.

Now to appoint a top manager and let him rebuilt in the summer.

we will be linked with every manager on the face of the planet now including Moyes. Will be a circus for the next month or so until we appoint the new man

From the daily mail, i can't believe there are still people who think he should be given another season.

When you read it all in a timeline it is harrowing stuff, the man was completely out of his depth.

He's the reliable journalist.

Oh how I would love for it to happen, especially to piss of Chelsea fans but it defys all logic to be honest.

I hope if Louis Van Gaal gets the job that he doesn't spend much in the summer and proves you wrong.

I am sick of all the "squad is shit" rubbish.

Fact is though he will need to spend. The squad Moyes inherited had two good players and a good goalkeeper. That's it. You take over Manchester United and all the pressure that comes with replacing Ferguson and you turn up to training and you've got to work with Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Young, Valencia, Buttner, Welbeck, Hernandez, a well past it Ferdinand, Giggs, Vidic and Evra (there's a few more I could add to the list). Ignoring the jersey's they wear but rather focusing on who's wearing the jersey, can you honestly tell me that isn't an average squad? No doubt that Moyes massively underperformed, no excuses for that, but the majority of the squad he was left should be following him out the door.

Am I a bad person for being in a happy mood this morning over this news?

I know I shouldn't celebrate someone losing his job really but atm this just feels too good, too liberating.
I have been looking forward to moment like this for months now. To say I am over the moon this morning is an understatement. I can feel more energised from now on when match day is near. It's forward and upward from now on. Best feeling in a long while if you ask me.

I'm always worried when you see a manager that only ever stays a few seasons at a club as it's not often they leave on good grounds.

He's usually sacked isn't he? Gotta wonder why that is.

What a ridiculous assessment. Three good players in the entire squad? Do me a favour, this squad won the league last season. As Liverpool have seen this season, you can achieve incredible things with a "lesser" squad by getting their belief and confidence sky high and getting them to really function as a team unit. That's something we have virtually never done this season at all

Just got up from sleep and these are the best news I have had on a while. Fantastic decision by the Glazers.

Good news? It's brilliant news :) I have a feeling we will win all games for rest of season and we really have something to look forward to in the summer. That clown can't give us hope even in the summer tour.

Like if said he'd be a good choice if available, but as a manager, he has won 2 CLs, like Mourinho and Guardiola, no need to exaggerate his managerial achievements.

Honestly, what the feck is wrong with you? Did I exaggerate anything? No. I'm saying what he's achieved. Would I like him more then Mourinho or Guardiola? No. But probably he is the most available (although all 3 are likely to be unavailable) this year.

It's absolutely hysterical isn't it?

The depths people sink to purge Ferguson's legacy is incredible. This isn't just a team that won the title last year but finished on equal points to the champion the year before. Now Ferguson was a genius but unless he was a bona fide magician, no way was this a squad with "three good players"

Hope not. I wanted him before but for the amount we have to pay Chelsea and him we may as well try again for Klopp no matter what he says publicly. Plus imagine Mata, he may commit murder. He'd get wrecked in prison.

Ooh yes, he'd be good.
