Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Klopp would be my first choice but it seems to be that Van Gaal is going to be our new man.

Has anybody of the press caught hold of Fergie or Charlton for comments on the sacking? Although I would like it if the press leaves Moyes alone for a few days to get over this.
Fergie has been quiet for a while, doubt he's going to comment.

I'm at work and can't fecking concentrate. Too happy, and I just have to read everything about this.

Best day since we won the league last year.

Has to be Klopp. Tactically good, good in the market and from what I see, he's extremely motivating and passionate.

Not sure I'd like Van Gaal here after the way i've heard he falls out with quite a few of his players.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Poor choice IMO. Well past his best and able to fall out with himself in an empty room given an hour or so. He will have an argument with himself and quit over the insults thrown before next summer.

Possibly.

Klopp seems to be the best option but may be unwilling to move.

Right decision. Laughable to suggest that a manager should not be judged on his results.
Upset that early indications are ruling Klopp out though.

Good. Hopefully DDG and Anders have a say on whether he stays or not, because he's obviously improved their command and confidence in the air. Such a specialist coaching role that only helps 3 or 4 people should be chosen by those 3 or 4 people, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't believe it's lack of class towards Moyes or not following our principles as a club. It feels more like a statement from the Glazers, the first in all these years since the bought the club.

I mean they could have waited till the end of the season, as we have nothing to play for. This must be a message towards all directions, something like: "Last summer we made the decision to follow blindly the instincts and the sentiments of the people whose names are synonymous with the club and by defying any business logic we didn't offer the job to some of the best managers available. We won't tolerate any more failures, we're still open to suggestions and advice, but it's our money-our call".

Best case scenario; Rooney tries to bully his way to a new contract, Van Gaal scares the stones out of him and makes him shut up.

Gary Neville dreadful in his comments. He's attempting a moral high ground speech when everyone knows he's saying "don't sack our Phil".

Lost any credibility he had previously - complete tool.

Maybe that's how he actually feels though? The managers should be given time, give him some credit he's said the same about managers previously and it seems to be his opinion.

There seems to be this thing at the moment where if Neville happens to have a different opinion on United with people he's just covering himself and sitting on the fence. I think he's been quite honest about us at times this season. He's slated us when we've played shit and said things need to improve. It does seem his view that managers should be given time. I don't agree with him in every case but he's entitled to an opinion, at the end of the day he's been associated with the club nearly all his life so he deserves the right to have an opinion on them. That doesn't make him a tool.

I imagine Van Gaal will demand respect, but will also know how much the team is hurting. He'll demand respect, but he'll restore confidence.

well if van gaal can last 2 years then pep is out of contract at bayern... van gaal to introduce more of a total football style and then pep to refine it (and bring messi) ok it probably wont happen

but if klopp does not want to move and if simeone is happy at athletico then who else is available (blanc under contract, jose under contract) perhaps van gaal is simply the best out there at the moment?

I feel sorry for Moyes. And for the club too. This should never have happened in the first place, I mean I don't think we should've even gone in blindly for him. Should have been more carefully thought out.

sorry mate i think you got it wrong. Whoever puts on a united shirt should give 100%, moyes or no moyes. They owe it to the fans
I think you have missed the point! Players who play 100% need to have a manager who deploy them correctly and form a team, strategically and technically viable to own games (it's team effort), that's why you need a team manager, who play a major part in getting result. Moyes was:
1. Incapable of Man management
2. Of Team selection
3. Not Knowing strength and weakness of his players
4. Lacking confidence at united level
5. Of Mediocre mindset
6. Lacking confidence in himself and the team
7. Constantly undermining the team when it's his own wrong doing
The list goes on...
When a CEO is flaw, the employees would never be able to shine. Is all

What is Fergie's stance in all this? I hope he does not leave because of what has happened.

Considering you bolded and agreed with calling me a "modern shitty fan", I'd suggest you not bring up insults. I'd also suggest that if you'd rather United win a meaningless game to give Liverpool the title, then you're missing out on the seething hatred that makes being a football fan so glorious.

The other poster made an assessment of you, I merely agreed. You also don't seem to understand should Liverpool not win it, then City will! Or Chelsea even, either way United won't be winning it thus it matters not. Unless you really wanted a non-united team to win it ;)

I strongly believe so too. After all, he has been there with Bayern Munich not that long ago.

The Guardian reports that Jurgen Klopp seems have hammered a nail into the coffin of reports linking him to United, saying: "My commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable."saying: "My commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable."

I want him even more now.

Was disappointed that there was no "She canee take the strain capt'n!!!" message. I thought the caf would jubiliate when Moyes gets sacked. But nothing.

That happened yesterday when the newspapers reported the news.

100 pages in less than 24 hours. That is not enough for you?

I still don't want him.

Do you feel sorry for him when
1. he sacked the back room staff who won trophies with sir Alex?
2. He signed Fellaini (not united quality)
3. Blamed the players and not himself
4. Blamed sir Alex for leaving him a bad team
5. Constantly showed his lack of confidence in himself and players
etc...

None of these were foreseen by anyone, not sir Alex! He let everyone down, particularly sir alex

I admire Klopp's loyalty so much. Just makes me want him more :(. It isn't going to happen though, unfortunately. Also, really glad Woods is staying. Think he's done well with De Gea.

Where are all the 'they will never sack him this season, never gonna happen' lot now?

Anyway, happy days. A good manager with some good signings to strengthen our squad and we'll be right up there next time. Our players have a lot too prove now!!!

The worrying thing now is, Klopp won't be coming, what if we miss out in Van Gaal as well? Who's left?

A shout out to the pro-Moyes bunch: Tough luck to you guys that not "enough time" was given to him to prove that he was worthy of your faith in him.

And to my other fans, who like me, understood pretty early that Moyes was out of his depth - I'm pretty sure, most of us do feel a little empathy for the dude for not succeeding. We have all been in tough situations in life. I hope we do realize that it was clearly not for the lack of trying that he did not succeed. It was just a role he wasn't suited for. Hope he finds a team better suited to his ideology and his methods.

When George Bush Jr was no longer president, stand-up comedians in USA said they had lost out on a good source of material for their comedy routines. Similarly, with the departure of Moyes, the caf will be a much less entertaining place...albeit, hopefully a much more joyous one under a world class manager next season! Can't wait to see who the replacement is going to be.

I don't want van Gaal to be honest. So I'm not really sure. Hopefully the club has a plan in place though.
