College Football & NFL thread 2007/8

Currently viewing Sean Taylor's funeral, Clinton Portis just gave a eulogy with his sun glasses on. I really feel for the guy he is used to be a Miami bad boy, shooting guns out of the his car in D.C. doing drugs, etc, but apparently changed his life and became a good, homebody after his daughter was born.

RIP "It's hard to tell another man you look up to them, or respect them, or love them, but I would tell Sean all three if I had another chance." -Clinton Portis

They're showing it on TV?

Today might be the day those cheats lose. Baltimore leading in the third quarter.

Go Ravens!!

Stupid fecking Boller, why throw the ball when a FG was there to be had. feck.

Bollocks.

A shit holding call on a 4th and 5 that would have ended the game then a Hail Mary pass that was a couple of yards shy.

I cant wait to see New England lose in the playoffs

Sometimes you can't escape your past.

They're D is suspect IMO. They can be run and passed on. It is an aging defense and might be showing signs of a long, grueling season.

If you get consistent pressure on Brady it disrupts their flow. Dallas did that, Philly and Baltimore too, as will the Steelers (week 13) and Giants (week 16). I would mention the Jets but they could sack Brady 10 times and they'd still lose by 14 at least.

Watch them blow out Pittsburgh though.

The Tom Brady Patriots work the Brazil rule. You score one, we score two.

The pats will be up for this one big time. You cannot hold moss to under 50 yds for three games in a row. It ain't gonna happen. He had a drop last night which would've been a sure touchdown so I expect moss to be on his game against the steelers and to put up at leat 100 yds.

Tim Tebow to win the Heisman Trophy over Darren McFadden

Anybody see that DB for Pittsburgh guarantee a win over the Pats???

What is that guy thinking????

Listening to Darren Woodson (aka best SS of his generation) on the radio this morning... he made comment that gaurantees like this don't fire up the opposing team in the professional ranks. He said everyone thinks/knows they're gonna win just that same say it out loud (said he'd never make a claim like that to the press). He said this tactic works more so in the college ranks.

Well Woodson would know just about as good as anyone what effect it would have.

Hopefully he is right, they have looked beatable the last two weeks and when Pittsburgh play well they are pretty tough for any team to handle, that said the Patriots still are favorties

Good win for the Redskins today.

Marcello what do you make of the situation between Newman and Kitna?

TO is slowly starting to get pissed off in the Dallas game, we might get lucky and see his first outburst of the season if this keeps up

Cowboys defense is atrocious today. This is why they won't win the Super Bowl this year, not playing that way. Letting an average (at best) Detroit OL dominate the game. Letting two shit RBs gain yards. Letting Detroit get first downs on third downs. The offense isn't in gear either. Shit performance.

Looks like Dallas might take the lead right here

20 yd TD catch by Witten, 18 seconds remaining 27-27 prior to xp

Lateral time for Detroit this could be entertaining

28-27 How Bout Dem Cowboys

Losers in the final this year. Been good, but games like this add a dose of reality to it. Still a few gears to move through before they can seriously challenge NE.

Game over 27-28.:D

Lucky win for my Boys. That Lions player should have fallen on Romo's fumble towards the end instead of trying to pick up and run with it. Shocking finale. I'll take the win though. Romo is like a combination of Aikman & Staubach. He has the accuracy and touch of Aikman, and the agility and leadership of Staubach.
