Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Okay, yes; Ashworth does seem a bit limited in vision. Southgate! But as the Athleric said, why didn’t Mr Jim know that already? Amorim is a great choice, though. Nice to see imagination and ambition. I can imagine all those egos grinding off each other in the air-conditioned Inner Sanctum.

There are more negative scenarios than that. There are signs Ratcliffe is a rabid egomaniac who is far too hands on, like the transport manager’s son firing the train driver and taking the controls. All that penny pinching at the club, some of his interviews plus his treatment of Ten Hag at the FA Cup shows a worrying lack of respect. It might suggest that Ratcliffe thinks it’s all about him, not the club. Neither positive nor negative is fully clear yet; Ratcliffe (and the rest of them) deserve a chance. We will see.
It sounds like Ratcliffe went off Brailsford's recommendation since him and Ashworth are good friends. Hopefully he allows Berrada to pick the next director.

That's par for the course, he's a self-made billionaire.

The club is a fecking shambles. The PR damage in the last week is incredible, really.
The last week? Its been longer than that when you think about it with some of their other choices.

One thing is clear, they obviously don't give a shit how it looks.

Oh I agree it's been going on longer, but the last week alone...the amount of damage is astounding for me.

They very clearly don't. Which I find wild.

Because historically they pay big money for the best players in the world from other countries.
You use Modric as an example...he was probably the best midfielder in the Premier League when they bought him.
It is obvious that Real would have the upper hand in getting the top prospects in South America given the climate and language in Spain compared to the UK and the history of Real.
They saw him as great midfielder, we were linked to him for years and never pushed on, we could have easily bought him if wanted, Madrid valued him more than us.

You keep saying why south American talent goes there, I am not disputing that. My whole point is the identification of talents early and also identifying older players that have yet not moved to a big club and buy them. Whilst we been buying dross for years.

Trouble with all this outrage over the redundancies. If we need to bring the club into the modern times it might mean some streamlining and from has been said we had far too many people working at the club. Where I used to work we paid for our own Christmas party. Think the company paid a bit towards it, but we contributed each week to pay for the rest. It is sad people lose their jobs, but unfortunately it we need to modernise then it happens.

Can never win can they?

When bring a player / person you dont like.. "they are doing it for PR"

When they want to improve the structure "bad for PR".

So you would rather the club persist with something they dont work so that it looks good?

Do you want Manutd to be successful or PR merchants?

Considering the shit INEOS need to deal with, maybe screwing PR and getting down and dirty is the approach to take. If by the end of it all the club has come out better on the other side no one will be complaining. Of course, if we end up like Nice, which could very well happen. Not good for them.

Seriously how expensive is a damn office party compared to our regular expenditure?
Ratcliffe is pretty skint to be fair.

Cost is not the issue here I believe but something on line of

' we can't be celebrating when the main task ( winning at the club), is non existence.

' we can't be paying for celebrations while we have nothing to celebrate about in our performance has a club'

I support the club in this 100%.

We pay Mo Salah salaries to get Rashford effort and output.
We pay VvD signing Fees and get Maguire talent.

For a long time, we have been accepting to mediocrity in players, scouts, management team, and the whole setup till now it has become extremely hard to move forward.

We had a coach who after 600m said we should be patient as we are in transition. And people accepted it.

We had a DoF who apparently wanted a Southgate as his first manager appointment.

Thankfully, the top men know it's completely unacceptable to have some opinions about the club leave alone some action.

How do we celebrate anything, while we are 13 on the table, after finishing in the worst position in the league in our PL history in the previous season??

Exactly this. We can't talk about standards as fans and then when SJR wants to raise standards, we kick back at every occassion.

The people who will say.. but but we pay x players y so makes no sense. yes, we paid players wages but there has been a clear effort from INEOS to reduce salaries, just have a look at all the new players come in.

Also, there are reports that Casemiro, Rashford all want to be moved on.

This is how it should be, we cannot be celebrating 13th place.

Oh give over. The last week or so has been incredible for negative reasons. Ticket prices, this with Ashworth, issues with PSR and their decision making called into question.

Whatever anyone says PR is important whether it is for corporate or business or sporting senses. Whatever I think personally, the last week is a crazy look for them on a number of facets.

Of course I want the club to fecking succeed. And this might well be the right decision. However I'd much rather the club wasn't making a pigs ear of most things and look like they have a clue what they are doing.

The Office Christmas party is mostly for the staff though. The players probably throw their own parties anyway. Why should the office staff be held responsible for the poor production on the pitch?

Maybe this is a message to the players. My first thought was they're being punished for your poor form so what you going to do about it. If I were Bruno I'd be telling the entire first team squad to pony up some cash and throw them a bash to say sorry. I'd be telling everyone they have to attend (not drink) and serve the staff at the party.

Everyone likes to talk about this clubs staff, management...etc. but again players are getting off scot free

They carry the burden as they are paid by money generated by those on the pitch.

We can't choose when to enjoy 'United Money' and when we say it's not our input when 'United things go bad'

Everyone should know, where we are, we are not in the mood, state, emotionally, even morally to the fans, to be celebrating anything about United.

Moreso, celebrating anything that has happened in the last 12 months.

Given a chance, me, by myself withp powers, I would drain the swamp in unprecedented ways.

Are you taking the piss right now in "unprecedented ways"?
