Club ownership | Senior management team talk

Agreed on Tuchel, and also whoever else is seemingly available at this point. But if their vision is to get someone better in the summer, they should seriously also consider an interim ASAP, as ETH isn't working at all right now.

Don't disagree

One of the best? Didn't you say "the best"?

Thank you for proving my point by already backtracking. There are always other options and there never is a single "best" candidate ;)

I said best in class, being "the best" is subjective. What we know is none of the managers available now are in that class, including Tuchel

Weird thing about Tuchel for me is that the reason floated about for his lack of interest was that we effectively wanted an International manager. Just someone to motivate, pick the team and coach.

But he’s literally taken an international job, so it can’t have been a huge problem for him working that way

Well... I agree with your clarification of what you mean and can agree on that, but you said it and caused this bit of confusion

Yes the best in their opinion obviouly

I am really divided over them so far. I very much liked them during transfer window. I don't like Ugarte signing but nevertheless they really did every transfer by the book. Good fees, normal wages, age of new signings....they were very competent during all that.
But they seem very confused over manager which is not good. Talking with other managers, thinking about change, rethinking about change and sending mixed messages.

They haven't had a good week with the Fergie stuff, can still turn things around by somehow making this club an attractive proposition for managerial candidates.

Usual story where a terrible defeat were followed by a couple of reasonable results and the pressure has eased off, followed by an international break where it eases off even more.

The next comfortable defeat sets the chain running again, and we'll eventually act 6 months after when we should have done.

That Brailsford bit is cringeworthy. Up there with Woodwards Disneyland stuff.

Pretty worrying read.

But we've anointed him "best in class" and banned Fergie from the dressing room, so it'll all be fine

Really bad stuff if true.

Initially, I was stoked to see a change in ownership and management of football operations, but there are a lot of red flags. The handling of the redundancies, rescinding SAF ambassadorship, retaining Ten Hag ostensibly for financial reasons, not footballing reasons after the FA Cup and even now. To be fair, I think they handled the transfer window quite well.

After the FA Cup and the drama surrounding the retaining of Ten Hag, I said it seems like INEOS are sort of smelling like Glazers 2.0. I was roundly criticized for that post. And yet, here we are. Sad.

And even lacking in class more than the glazers, which something I never thought I'd say. INEOS are acting as if this is a normal business that need some cost cutting here and there to reach profitability. All the cost cutting is doing is creating a negative sentiment towards the club from staff to players, and it's insignificant compared to money wasted on recruitment. I can't stand Ratcliff really.

Why is it worrying?

Did you expect everything to go perfect? Jim has already admitted he's taken a back seat since his new executive hires have come in.

the Brailsford bit is funny, but we know he has no control on the day to day. Moreover, why weren't these articles coming out when they first came in?

Typical sensationalist journalism and trying to stir shit up for clicks. Bin.

Did you read it? I think it's obvious why it's a worrying read.

Jeez, that is indeed a worrying read. They sound as incompetent and out of touch as the Glazers.

These lot are just as shite as the previous ownership. Match-made in heaven.

Are INEOS/SJR incompetent or worse has SJR conned us all that he cares and in actuality he is just like the glazers? I know that's tad out there but I'm starting to have my doubts

ETH may not have been their man last season, but he is now, and the longer they continue to avoid the massive elephant in the room, the worse they come off looking in all this.

Too proud to admit making a mistake in the summer, instead we're going to waste a whole season and start from scratch, again.

Not impressed with how they've handled the ETH situation at all.
Lets see who they actually pick as their manager first

Although I get the skeptism, especially during summer. But if they can land the right manager Id prefer they take their time than bow to pressure and rush to hire the flavour of the moment.

So these former Man City, Blackburn, Newcastle and England football employees who are now being payed a kings ransom to guide Man United - Are they actually trolling us and being payed for the privilege?!

They did say so many managers have failed to meet expectations and they want to correct that, so it would involve seeing how it unfolds first hand. Could be a test run to see if they can get an uplift trying to improve other aspects, right now we're tanking lower than before though.

If we do bring in another manager you'd want to have the house fixed up beforehand.

As bad as ETH is right now, he did win all the group games convincingly in his last season at Ajax with an unremarkable squad against Amorim's Sporting and Marco Rose's Dortmund that had Haaland and Bellingham.

For us he's been a car crash in Europe. So much money spent for each manager, new set of players, trainers, yet we can't play football.

Really hard to point to a good decision they’ve made at this stage. The only positive I can see is, it at least looks as though they care about what happens on the pitch more than the Glazers did. For that alone, I’ll give them time but they need a ‘win’ pretty quickly.

What? Glazers sacked managers the minute top 4 was in danger or out of reach. These clowns game a new contract to a fraud who finished 8th.

I'm puzzled how they can't be worried for future of the club. We are dogshit to watch and ten Hag can't get a consistent performance out of the team, tactics are terrible. Quick transition crap.

We can't control games we can't hold on to the ball for more then 5 mins.

I'm bored watching us play.

Thier fecking PR Team churning out the Ineos Team is ruthless, efficient and swift. Also, they claimed to have best in class football people. So far it's all "empty drum"!
