Would be gutted if this went through. Not because he would improve their team (well, he would, obviously, but you can't polish a turd,) but more because it would be such a shame to see a great player coming to the best league in the world and playing such a no name club.

Chelsea were a no-name club a few years ago. Now you get the likes of Essien and Shevchenko signing for them

Not exactly no name. They had been in and around top 4 since late 90s and during that time won an FA Cup and a Cup Winners' Cup too. When they had the likes of Vialli, Zola, Poyet, Petrescu, Di Matteo etc, they were quite exciting to watch. Unlike Man City.

Chelsea then was definitely more attractive a place to come to than City. I doubt Kaka will go to City anyway.

With the crunch hitting Abramovich they will be back where they belong in no time. In fact they're already close to their initial place, a couple of years and there will be hardly any difference.

William Hill's odds on Kaka's club after the Transfer Window

City 4/6
Milan 11/10

http://williamhillmedia.com/index_template.asp?file=11594

Was parked up in town last night picking the missus up (or if I'm being honest curb crawling) - saw odds of 25/1 being advertised in the window of Willy Hills next to the Midland Hotel.

That just happens to be the same bookies I saw Sven coming out of when he was manager of City - this was the day after the got beat in the cup bacause of some balloons on the pitch.

here's hoping we've judged his character right. I hate it when players I like play for teams I hate.

The only players I like play for the team I support.

I couldn't care less about what happens to players like Kaka, Torres or Messi. I admire them all as footballers but I genuinely couldn't give a shite where they end up playing football. Obviously, it concerns me when our rivals sign quality but other than that, who cares?

Always find it weird when people have strong feelings for players at other clubs. Reckon it's a new phenomenon. Kind of like boy-bands.

Top post.

All that concerns me about this whole situation is how it's going to effect us. Ronaldo, for instance would take a look at Kaka earning 500k a week and say "Hang on, I'm the fecking world player of the year, if he's on that"... It'll force prices to ridiculous levels, and the fans will be the ones who suffer. I reckon the credit crunch could just prove to be the kick in the teeth football needs. This, and more so next seasons attendences will be very interesting...I'm already finding it easier than kast season to get United tickets for most games.

This transfer has a lot of legs left yet - I'm sure Madrid will be sniffing around him, its a big decision for a player of Kaka's status - if he goes I reckon City will find it easier to entice others, which is why they are prepared to pay so much money for him.

As I said before, buying Kaka alone, is an investment twice the size the Arabs initially invested in buying the complete club.

They could've bought half of Liverpool fc with the money they are offering for 1 player.

shh. don't give them any ideas. they don't need money, just FAHCHTS!

:lol::lol:

What a comparison.

Well both SSN and the Times are saying Kaka has rejected citys current offer, good news. So will they increase it in attempt to find his 'price' or will they go for the next player nearest in quality willing to go to city: Scott Parker

They were a champions league club which is the main matter, besides Essien was not a big name when he went to Chelsea, a big talent but still only proven in France, Shevchenko joined them when they were premier league champions

Top Red.

Sorry, I just wanted to use that term.

Gerrard will agree to move, shirts will be burned, and then he'll change his mind... dive a bit and pretend nothing happened. Again.

From BBC's website:

Brazil star Kaka says he wants to stay at AC Milan despite talk of a transfer to Manchester City.

A City delegation has been in Milan and reportedly made a bid in the region of £100m, with a weekly wage of £500,000, for the midfielder.

However, the 26-year-old told the website of Mediaset, a TV company owned by Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi: "I want to grow old at Milan.

"My aim is to become at some point in the future the captain of this team."

Kaka would only move to an ambitious team that has a very real chance of winning major titles. At this moment in time Man City are not what he expects them to be. In the future this may change if they can add more big name players to Robinho.

He'll only move if Milan say to him he's not wanted there anymore because they want the money.

SSN asking a Brazilian restaurant owner whether he thinks the deal will go through.

Kaka 'turns down Manchester City's £91m offer'

Kaka appears to have turned down Manchester City's £91m offer, by claiming he wants to "grow old" at AC Milan.

The Brazilian playmaker was the subject of a world-record bid yesterday, with Sheikh Mansour, City's billionaire owner from Abu Dhabi, reportedly willing to offer Kaka around £13.6 million a year after tax.

However his latest statement, which has appeared on the website of Mediaset, a company controlled by Silvio Berlusconi, the Milan president and Italian Prime Minister, may now bring an end to City's hopes of completing the deal.

"I want to grow old at Milan," Kaka said. "My aim is to become, at some point in the future, the captain of this team.

"I know there is a pecking order, with (Paolo) Maldini at the front at then (Massimo) Ambrosini, but after that...

"I have already turned down some major offers."

Officials from the Barclays Premier League club met their counterparts from the Serie A team in Milan yesterday, however, yesterday Berlusconi, the Milan owner, attempted to play down reports of the offer.

“I don’t know anything about any offer, but I do hope Kaka is not for sale and that he stays," he said.

Summed him up as a player with loyalty and faith in the club! Credit to him! And Feck Shitty!:lol:

shockingly overpriced... All very well City signing all these players but they have no Manager to manage them right. Robinho was average and always will be. Never lit up Real Madrid. Kaka is a good player but not suited for the English Man Marking he will get....

City would be better off buying quality Premiership stars rather then paying big for a Superstar and hoping they come good.

The Charltons picking games to watch based on which excellent player was playing where would rather give the lie to that assertion.

I find it unlikely at the moment that they'll hang onto Robinho, let alone bring another superstar in. They won't even have Uefa Cup football next year.

Bluemoon has been down since the news broke, I fear for some of the people on there - songs had been created, a proposal for part of the ground was to be named after him, some were even over the fact that they had signed him and moved there attention onto the next target David Villa.

They also ban any newbie on there if they use the word Massive - think a lot of the RI lot have been wumming over there.

 They really are small-time. I thought Kaka had snubbed them anyway? Would be absolutely hilarious if he had. There'd probably be mass suicides on Bluemoon.

I wouldn't find fault in Milan accepting 132m for him but I would have to really access Kaka's reasoning... purely financial which is a shame and would certainly lower my sentiments of him.

He could still go and frankly I think it is likely he still will.

City IMO have to approaches. Lure in a couple more superstars to grease the pot for Kaka.

Offer Milan so much they can't turn it down. Kaka has said he will leave if Milan have to accept an offer for him.

This is a win win for Kaka now.

He has come out and rejected this contract and stated his undying love for Milan. If City come back with a bigger bid and Milan say "We have to sell you because we cannot in good conscience reject this" then he goes and doesn't look mercenary at all.
