On another note. City threeaten to destabilize the market place more than Abramovich did with their recruitment drive.

A lot of truly big clubs are going to be held to ransom by their players who want to talk wages off the back of any major coups City pull off in the market.

City are the drean destination for greedy agents and clubs 'reluctantly' looking to sell.

Good point. Fecking bible bashing weirdo.

And it is very odd.

I think he might struggle in the PL, fwiw, but time will tell.

i don't think he will but i'm not really sure what city will play now. they need to strengthen their midfield and defense with steel and tightness. i think they'll need someone like santa cruz as well.

probably play santa cruz uptop with kaka and robinho supporting him and a midfield base of three. if that is the case, then swp has to be dropped and can ireland play in a disciplined tight midfield three? he's had a bloody good season doing what he's doing and attacking. i haven't seen enough of him to know if he can keep things need and tidy and tackle consistently.

hughes doesn't seem to be the most tactically innovative and daring manager to get the squad right either imo.

This transfer has a lot of legs left yet - I'm sure Madrid will be sniffing around him, its a big decision for a player of Kaka's status - if he goes I reckon City will find it easier to entice others, which is why they are prepared to pay so much money for him.

As I said before, buying Kaka alone, is an investment twice the size the Arabs initially invested in buying the complete club.

They could've bought half of Liverpool fc with the money they are offering for 1 player.

The Stephen Ireland conundrum is interesting.

He's basically been playing the "Kaka role" all season and has been their best player too.

Just from the interviews I have seen with him and his general attitude towards life, I can't see him being attracted to City for the money.Obviously I am just going off my opinion and could be way off, but I'm much sure he would rather win the Champions League again then be on £500,000/week. There's only so much money a person needs. I know if I was a footballer it Kaka's position I'd stay at the club that is likely to win trophies.

And I hope for the sake of football it doesn't happen. £100m for a player is ridicolous, no player on the planet is worth that much. Never mind £500,000 a fecking week. Where will it end?

You do know that the shit that ronaldo pulled in the summer, was exactly the same as what kaka did two, three years before him. the only difference between them was that kaka was made the highest paid player in the world for his efforts.

he's not exactly a saint, you know...

£500,000 a week is £130 million over 5 years + transfer fee of £100.

£230 million.

If football wasnt already silly, it is now.

 fecking hell. If Citeh really do go ahead with this, and bring several players along the same line in with the same wages and fees, then football will be changed forever. It's already getting out of hand, but that's utterly stupid. Other teams will compete by having to raise wages and fees, and that will ultimately price average-earning fans completely out of the game.
Slippery fecking slope.

And people doubt that he would be keen on such a move. I mean, compare this to what he earns at Milan and over 5 years the difference is... well, MASSIVE.

Does anyone actually believe this is gona happen? I cant see it personally. Its fecking Kaka after all, Kaka playing for Man City it just plain crazy talk.

I'd have said the same thing about Robinho, tbh. Plus, £££. What man could possibly turn down a million quid a fortnight?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Robinho and Kaka play in the same sort of position? How would they accomodate both?

Obviously with two players of that quality you make room, but maybe it may backfire on them.....

Kaka going to city would be a victory for everything thats wrong in football

Can't remember if they were top 3 or not but they were a better side than City, that's for sure. Still, we've seen over the last two seasons that the bitters are capable of looking like a decent side, every now and then. Some good young English/Irish players there. Bit like Chelsea when they were taken over.

Wasn't that the season they just pipped Spurs to 4th place, as some of the spurs players conveniently got food poisoning for the last game and lost, or something like that anyway.
Even if I am wrong, as you said they were certainly a lot better than City
are now.

Robinho plays on the left side of attack mostly, from what i've seen. Kaka plays between the midfielders and strikers, so they'd probably fit in alright.

Do you think they give a shit about that?

This signing is about a statement of intent, it's not done for footballing reasons.

It was Arsenal who beat Tottenham to 4th, and Chelsea won the league that season.

i disagree.......they made the statement by outbidding chelsea for robinho and trying to nab berbatov.......that made people sit up and take notice.......now after getting robinho other big name players might fancy it too (or the cash)

its now turned into who has the biggest cock and theirs is MASSIVE!!!

Anyway, do you think City are capable of signing any more players on wages like that and for fees like that?

While their owners are extremely rich I don't think they can spend billions on a football club. I can't see them surpassing £1.5bn of investment and Kaka would already take a good share in that.

Yeah that's my point, Mr Robinho will want a new contract of similar means if they give that to Kaka

Well if he is sensible there should be a "matching" clause in his contract to keep him level with the top player at the club.

** Unfortunately Mr. Robinho has already showed us he is not sensible by signing for Citeh in the first place.

Never under estimate the depth of Arab pockets. These guys have 100 million yatchs and homes all over the place that they never use.

When they decide they want something they usually get it.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Abu Dhabi crew are leaking them. To these clowns, spending money is a bit of a pissing contest. All about making a statement of intent.

Well if those figures are to be believed then Kaka will sign. Its not has if Milan at this moment are going to be winning European trophies and even the Italian league . Lets face it there the Arsenal of Italian football , close but no cigar team. 4th best team in Italy at best.

I've still got a glimmer of hope that we might see Kaka play for united one day.

This could be ruined shortly ><

What the worry here is if Kaka does arrive, more stars heads shall be turned. With the open cheque book more stars shall follow. Christ what is to stop them getting Jose has there coach.

The positive is I cant see Sir Alex retiring soon has now he has another challenge to deal with , bring it on.

If, and that is a major IF, Kaka does join them, the question will be: just how good will he make Citeh? We all know he's a fantastic footballer (maybe a bit of an understatement), but will he alone be enough to make City a great side? They have some decent players in their team but Kaka, and possibly Robinho, would be the only maybe world-class players in their team. How far could they take them?

Kaka's adviser has warned Manchester City that they must prove their ambition if they want to sign the AC Milan superstar.

Widespread reports suggest Manchester City officials have travelled to Milan in a bid to broker a sensational move for the Brazil international.

Reports have claimed City are prepared to break the bank to bring Kaka to Eastlands in a world record transfer deal.

However, Kaka's spokesman Diogo Kotscho insists the player will not be swayed by money and that he will only join City if they can match his ambitions.

"To accept Manchester City, Kaka wouldn't do a matter based on money"
, he told Corriere dello Sport. "But to the competitiveness of the English side.

"Ricky would like a strong side. He would never do something like Robinho, who, just to earn more, contented himself with not a winning solution."

Milan have always insisted Kaka was not for sale at any price, but it remains to be seen if they will be able to resist the mega offer from City in this month's transfer window.

A City delegation led by chief executive Garry Cook flew to Italy on Tuesday to put a £100million proposal to Milan.

Cook has now returned to Manchester and is awaiting permission to talk with Kaka.
Just confirms what many believed about Kaka. Interesting to see Kaka's spokesman saying robinho's a mercenary.

Two stars wont make them world beaters but what it shall do is turn those players who wouldnt give City a second glance in the past to say hold on if that club can get Kaka , Robinho then surly there going places. More of the top players will arrive thus turning City into a pity fine team.

Says they need to show ambition

City could just argue they're due to spend £xhundred million in the summer, and that could be taken as showing ambition.

Of course he's not going to say 'yes, I do that for money'. If he moves, however, it will be purely for financial reasons.
