City open talks with Milan over Kaka!!

Exactly. You can build a stadium for that amount. Reading between the lines, it's upto Kaka and his advisors to thrash out a deal. He'll have some clauses in there no doubt. City'll turn into a freak show. Interesting nonetheless, though. (Just when we saw off Chelsea.)

Their plan seems pretty obvious to me, but I reckon they're making a rod for their own back that even they won't find sustainable: Buy Kaka' and couple of other top class players to send out a message of intent; once established rein in the big spending and hope to be a viable option for any of the world's best players.

Basically Chelsea Mk II.

It'll backfire because they're going to have a much harder time (see more cash) to get players there than Chelsea had, who were at least in the CL and are in London.

They're also going to end up fecking up one of the best academies (their own) in the process.

I reckon the 500k a week thing is bollocks, but the initial outlay to get his club to say yes, is not.

He'll probably be on £200-£250k if they can get him there.

Still madness, but not unprecedented (Beckham)

Madness indeed, considering the global economic crisis has even hit the likes of Abramovic. £500K is probably bollocks. . .I reckon he'll want some clauses in there ie a promise of more signings and the CL. Wouldn't surprise me if they went for Messi in the summer. That'd be insane. Must say, if this happens, it'll cement the PL's position as the biggest and best league in the world.

Was just sent this. Hope it's not a repost

Below is the apparent transcript that has been leaked of the telephone negotiations between Kaka and Manchester City. Unfortunately the transcript is only from the City end of the call.....

"Hello, is that Kaka? How do you fancy becoming the supply line to Craig

Bellamy and Darius Vassell this winter?

"No, your fellow countryman doesn't like the cold and will be out until mid

April - but you will play alongside Stephen Ireland"

"No, Kaka, Ireland is a person not a country"

"yes, I fully appreciate that he is not Ronaldinho, Pirlo or even Beckham

but many fans have him in their fantasy football"

"I know you are currently the richest man in Italy but we can double it!"

"erm, well, we have had a bit of a slide recently and we are currently 15th"

"erm, out of 20...... but Mark Hughes once won the double for our

neighbours"

"Hughes"

"Ex Blackburn boss"

"Blackburn, Blackburn Rovers"

"No, Blackburn......Black.....Burn"

"HUGHES man, HUGHES!!!"

"He once scored a good goal against Spain"

"No, that's Gerry Armstrong..... anyway, are you coming or not?"

"Usually about two thirds full but if we play a big team it really rocks"

"yes I know, but we don't even have a car park cos all the fans walk to the

ground they are so local"

"Relevance? well, I suppose its all they have to brag about whether its true

or not"

"Only the one to be fair but its called 'blue moon' you will love it"

"Blue"

"yes, definitely blue, always has been"

"No, no, no, they are in Trafford"

"yes they are, steeped in it in fact but what good is history to you my

ambitious friend?"

"erm, 1976 I think"

"it was the er, the er League cup if memory serves me right"

"Well, the plan was to get in the top 4 this season and then....."

"yes, I realise that but....."

"Aston Villa? What's it got to do with them?"

"Yes, I know but we have been down this history route already"

"How the heck does a Brazilian playing in Italy know about Nottingham

Forest?"

"Yes, yes, and Leeds United also made a final but you are missing my point,

this is all about the future"

"Give me strength......HUGHES!!!!"

"yes I know he did and he was a legend there but he is a changed man"

"forget them, they are falling apart"

"But all those trophies were won last year! They have won nothing in 2009"

"I have told you.... 1976!!!!"

"How the heck does a Brazilian playing in Italy know that Virginia Wade has

won Wimbledon since then?"

"Yes she probably is in her 60's"

"I don't know, probably about 10 league titles, 2 European cups and countless

domestic cups what has that got to do with it?"

"76,000 why?"

"yes, every game, even minor cups I suppose, but where is this getting us?"

"Yes, the league cup is considered a minor cup over here why?"

"I know, I know, I know, ok perhaps they won the FA Cup in 1970 or something

does it really matter?"

"look, Kaka, we will treble whatever you are on now, buy you a mansion in

Alderley Edge and give you a helicopter for your front lawn....are you

joining us?"

"NO!, its owned by the council - what has the ground got to do with

anything"

"well, officially its the City of Manchester Stadium but most people call it

Eastlands"

"EAST!, not Waste"

"You will be adored there"

"No, not there, here I meant"

"No, that's Old Trafford, I meant adored here at Waste....erm, Eastlands"

"Anderson??? what does he know?"

"Ok I hear what you say, but other than Pride, Ambition, Achievement,

History, Passion and a large car park - what can they offer you?"

"what do you mean no credit left in your phone.....I phoned you"

"Hello, Mr Kaka,...... Mr Kaka are you there?............................

:lol::lol::lol:

He gives a fair % of his salary to whatever Church he is associated with apparently. Wouldn't be surprised if they're on to him at the moment giving him the Jesus guilt trip about what "good" they could do with the extra money etc. As blindingly ridiculous as the thoughts of Kaka in a MASSIVES shirt is - it's not a total impossibility !

It would say a lot about Kaka if he does agree to this.

Manchester city ffs :lol: He should be out there playing for the best, not this shower of shite. No matter about their potential, they are worlds apart from top European clubs, and always will be.

Yea, I reckon something audacious is on the cards for the summer. Something like a move for Messi or our Ron and it's probable they'll be trying to hijack any big deals that are going down over the summer as well.

I'm glad we've got such a great squad because their shite is going to affect a lot of the top clubs.

Fecking Shitty.

The reason why I think it may backfire, is because they're not building any foundations. Shevchenko was probably the highest profile player to join the PL, but he flopped. So, there's no guarantee buying megastars will bring in the success the Arab owners are expecting. And what happens when they get bored???? It's freak show.

How about Ronaldo and Messi?! The thing is, I'm not sure those players would move to City, they're young and ambitious, whereas Kaka is 26. That said, they may think City are going places with the likes of Kaka and Robinho in City line up.

Wh would anyone want to move to city, for reasons other than money, when everyday all they'll have o do is travel up the road and find a club of the stature they should be playing for?

It's utterly madness.

It's not that they want to move, but due to the huge trasnfer fees involved, they might have to. Could the Glazers turn down £150-200m?? Also Kaka will be a huge selling point this summer.

Imagine if they signed Kaka and got relegated.

That's true. I think their next move in the summer will be to go for a top-rated manager. Probably Mourinho to try and ensure this doesn't happen.

SSN are saying that Milan have pretty much succumbed to the offer and it's all down to Kaka..

Let's see if he's money motivated.

It wouldn't surprise me if he went.

City's going down with a Brazillian in the team...

This is crazy stuff, Kaka would be out of his mind to accept this. Then again, we said that about Robinho...Madrid must be laughing all the way to the bank for that money, I would take it if we were offered that amount for Ronaldo.

this whole saga makes me really sad. more so than the Ronaldo saga regarding Real.

the poor lad has come out and pledged himself to AC, even going so far as to say he wants 'grow old at the club'.

but that's not enough to stop City's owners from trying to bully the move through with ridiculous bids.

if the player DOESN'T WANT TO GO TO YOUR CLUB, GIVE UP!!! it's ugly to watch, and it reduces the player's will to that of a well paid whore.

if City's owners had any football sense, they'd quietly build a strong back 5 (including keeper) this season and next. and once the backbone of the team is settled, start buying flair players/strikers.

but instead, they're trying to force moves, and going after players who OPENLY don't want to go to city.

saddening to watch.

The money involved makes me sick. 500k/week.

The game will be ruined after this, especially if they succeed in buying their way into the upper echelon's of football.

Sickening.

On another note it might speed up the process of FIFA actually doing something about it though..

it'd be funny to see how fast players feck off from City if and when transfer and wage caps come in!

Citeh not taking no for an answer, and Hughes seem confident of a deal too.

I hope you are right. I don't mind a new owner trying to improve his side - e.g. Lerner (sp?) at Villa, or even Roman at Chelsea (although he was a bit excessive).

City are flat out destroying the football economy.

Can't believe this story still as legs.Shitty and Mark Hughes are having a laugh.

City are flat out destroying the football economy.

It really is demorilising isn't it. I mean we can understand a team with a rich owner paying say upto £50 million for the player and then 150k a week at an absolute maximum, but £100 million and 500k that is actually taking the piss and something needs to be done before the whole lot goes down the shitter.

Being exceptionally rich myself I may lodge a bid for Kaka then donate him to Manchester United.

What we are talking about here is A LOT of money. Wouldn't be surprised if he moves to city but wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't either. It will start worrying me as soon as they start trying to hijack OUR moves, cause we know they will try, they've already once.

hopefully he signs for them, city get relegated, the arabs feck off, city are financially crippled and put in the conference

Seriously, if you've got a few minutes going begging check out Bluemoon, they are going absolutely mental, every other thread is about Kaka, they are flinging vitriol at anyone who dares question the wisdom of paying £500,000 a week (Wenger and steve Copell are the latest) everybody is obsessed with them, but mainly us because we "envy" them:lol:Milan are absolute bastards for making them pay stupid money, and any poster who trys to calm the situation down is witchhunted, branded a Rag, and the Mods are told to ban them. Its funnier than Fawlty towers meets father Ted.

Totally agree with this. This is a slap in the face for common sense and morality, and takes the "everyone has his price" ethos to the very edge of sanity.

Salary cap related to incomes would virtually assure us that big clubs would remain big and small clubs could only change their status by success on the pitch. It's a very decent idea.

FIFA HAVE to do something, surely? The figures being bandied about (albeit by the rags) are obscene. A worldwide salary cap AND transfer cap should be given very serious consideration. We all know that these billionaires only want play things and will, in all probability, leave the Clubs in the lurch at some time in the future. If these amounts of money are allowed to continue to rise, there will be a lot of top quality Clubs going to the wall in the future.

Man City are flexing their financial muscle and im not surprised. It would take a very brave club to turn down their excessive riches and AC Milan simply cannot ignore the cash. Its up to Kaka now to make a decision and end this saga once and for all. I wouldnt rule out him joining them on a contract with many get out clauses to protect his future ambitions. He would probably want to do what is best for his club and if that involves him earning them a huge pay day then he may think its worth the risk.

If Kaka goes to City its not because he is being forced to go by Milan, its because he's taken the loot & swallowed his Religious pride!

An interesting story this one: Greed (a deadly sin) versus Soul - wonder who will win?!

If greed wins out, then Kaka cant be drumming that Jesus talk down anyone's throats ever again, nor wear T-shirts under his jersey with references to the Lord etc..

It will be a classic case of the Devil winning out again
