City open talks with Milan over Kaka!!

I refuse to believe those wage figures. If true, it will completely ruin their wage structure and give new signings a license to demand huge inflated wages.

Every 'big' signing they'll make will now demand parity with Kaka.

Just doesnt sound right.

Wonder how Madrid feel about this situation, a team that has tailed Kaka for several years - gave him the Ronaldo treatment for at least a couple of years.

I reckon that if Madrid get a bid accepted by Milan then the player will jump at the chance to move to these Spanish fecks, no matter how much money city throw at him.

Man City in talks over Kaka deal

Kaka has been with Serie A giants AC Milan for six years.

Manchester City have opened talks with Italian side AC Milan over the transfer of their Brazilian playmaker Kaka, BBC Radio 5 Live understands.

A report on Mediaset, a website of Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi, says City want Kaka "at all costs".

A City delegation has reportedly met with their Milan counterparts with a bid of £100m and a weekly wage of £500,000 on offer for the 26-year-old.

The Eastlands club refused to comment on the latest transfer reports.

I wonder who else they've got in their ''Dream Team''. :nervous:

Text message from Robinhio to Kaka.

"Kaka, Mr Hughes is not the Magical 1!, there r 2 teams in Manchester! this 1 will b playin in 2nd league nxt season"

But will 500'000 make up for playing for a shite team without any ambitions? Maybe for some, but not for everyone, especially when you already have more than enough money

You'd like to think that but this some serious money. 500k per week will more than make up for it. He'd be a billionaire in a few years.

Even the likes of Scholesy and Giggsy would be tempted if they were offered this. It's a tough decision turning down 500k a week.

Still find the whole thing hard to believe.

I know I sound like a tabloid newspaper here but I have it on very good authority that Kaka has been In touch with Elano and Robinho for the last couple of weeks asking what being at City is like. I could have told him that in one word MASSIVE. I still can’t see this happening, why would Kaka move to a lower half Premiership team unless he’s more of a mercenary than I thought he was.

Meanwhile, in the land of fantasy that is bluemoon, in a thread titled "Rags fear" according to most of the posters we are bricking it.

"Ha ha, city's gonna get yer"

" Ronaldo will leave when he realises he's no longer the best in the PL"

" Our time has come"

With only one sober voice saying "You do realise we haven't signed him yet don't you?"

I can see this happening, Kaka need it for his career and City need it to stop being seen as a joke. Weather or not he will do well is a different story. If he does sign he is walking into a black hole.

Kaka is not a greedy player. He will not take his offer. I'd love to see him at united.

If that doesn't scupper the deal, nothing will.

I reckon it'll happen. Like I said last night, everyone has his price.

City in £100m swoop for Kaka
Chris Bailey
13/ 1/2009

CITY have made a sensational £100m move to attract world superstar Kaka to Eastlands.

As reported in Monday’s MEN Sport, the Blues have made the 26-year-old Brazilian their number one Galactico target in what could be the biggest transfer of all time.

And executive chairman Garry Cook has now been authorised by owner Sheikh Mansour to offer the Italian giants AC Milan £100m for the player who could command wages of up to £500,000 per week that would dwarf anything else in the game.

The Abu Dhabi Prince sees the move as the perfect way of showing fans that he intends to keep his promise to turn the Blues into a superpower in the coming seasons.

Earlier this week Milan were still laughing off suggestions that they had received a bid for Kaka and the player himself was happily discussing playing alongside David Beckham for the next couple of months.

Kaka though has always been at the top of an exclusive and separate wanted ‘Galactico’ list that has also was approved by manager Mark Hughes and now it has emerged that the Blues made their move on Monday evening.

Details

On Tuesday night, Milan owner and Italy’s Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, gave authorisation for details of that meeting to appear on the official website of his media group. If Kaka agrees to come to City, the Serie A side will use the cash windfall to rebuild an ageing side.

Milan then said they had taken ‘official notice’ of City’s offer.

“This time they are here for real with an official delegation," said the report.

“City want Kaka at all costs and they have shown their cards. Garry Cook, two representatives of Sheik Mansour and Kia Joorabchian, who is acting as a mediator, met with Adriano Galliani and Ernesto Bronzetti (Milan’s chief executive and commercial director) and made their offer.”

The Blues have yet to speak to Kaka but his countryman and friend Robinho has told friends in Manchester that he had been told of City’s desire to have the two in the same side.

There has been no official comment from City

I see yer man, Joorabchain, is involved. What odds Tevez being their next "massive" signing?

Can't see it happening, Kaka doesn't seem to be the type who is in it for the money and at 26 he isn't getting any younger.

City are light years away from getting anywhere near the top 4 and even then I don't think competing in the CL Group Stages is Kaka's ambition.

People keep saying this, based on no evidence whatsoever. Why is this? Because he's religious? The Pope is fecking minted.

He comes from a wealthy background and the one thing that most wealthy people have in common is a desire to get even more wealthy.

Just from the interviews I have seen with him and his general attitude towards life, I can't see him being attracted to City for the money.Obviously I am just going off my opinion and could be way off, but I'm much sure he would rather win the Champions League again then be on £500,000/week. There's only so much money a person needs. I know if I was a footballer it Kaka's position I'd stay at the club that is likely to win trophies.

And I hope for the sake of football it doesn't happen. £100m for a player is ridicolous, no player on the planet is worth that much. Never mind £500,000 a fecking week. Where will it end?

Kaka speaks

Kaka considers Manchester City move

Times Online
Kaka, the AC Milan playmaker, says he is flattered by the interest being shown in him by Manchester City.

The Brazilian says he is "very happy" to be linked with the Premier League club and has admitted speaking to his compatriots Elano and Robinho about life at the City of Manchester Stadium. Kaka, who is expected to play against Portsmouth in the Uefa Cup tonight, also reiterated his desire to play in England before he retires.

"I've been speaking with Robinho and Elano sometimes about Manchester City, but I don't know. I'm very happy that they want to take me from Milan, but I think it is very difficult," he said.

"It is a very tough championship with a lot of big players and a lot of big teams. I think it is the best championship in the world so one day maybe, I don't know when, but it would be great to play in the Premier League. I have a lot of friends that are playing there, so I'm watching some games."

So what you're saying is you hope he doesn't sign for City. Me too. But money talks. Always has done.

I think anyone would be tempted by that kind of money. Pogue's is absolutely spot on here, everyone has a price.

I think he won't go there anyway.

And let's say if they do sign him; there is no guarantee he will be a success. He would find it hard adjusting to life in the Premier League from Serie A for sure and you know as well as I know it is going to take more than 1 player to make them into a force.

And if he does sign for that ridicolous amount of money, they will have set themselves a benchmark for future transfers and contract re-negotiations. I don't know how much Robinho is on (£120,000/week?) but he won't be happy if Kaka joins and if given over quadruple that every week. And the same applies to future signings.

It's unsustainable, no matter how rich they are. You can't run a football club at huge losses like they are undoubtedly going to do.

At least he knows he'd be playing in the Championship.

It'd be hilarious watching Kaka and Robinho lining up against Colchester United

Short-term you can. I don't think they see City as a long-term investment, it's a toy for them. They will want to win a couple of trophies before they leave and leave a club near bankrupcy.

he tithes his income too so he could feel like making more will allow him to give more to 'god'.

kaka to city is mindboggling. since yesterday i've been stuck in this limbo between crying or laughing. its quite odd.

Good point. Fecking bible bashing weirdo.

And it is very odd.

I think he might struggle in the PL, fwiw, but time will tell.

I might be being a bit dramatic, but I reckon if this is only the start of City's spending then football could seriously be fecked.

Nah, it would get us closer to the salary cap that should have been introduced long time ago. I can't see FIFA and UEFA not reacting to City signing virtually every player available for insane amounts of money that they didn't earn as a football club. It's not like they're Real Madrid.

Yeah, I've been a fan of the salary cap idea for quite a while now.

Yeah, I've been a fan of the salary cap idea for quite a while now.

Salary cap related to incomes would virtually assure us that big clubs would remain big and small clubs could only change their status by success on the pitch. It's a very decent idea.

Who cares? Even if they'll buy their way to the premiership title, it'll be fecking hollow. They will never be able to buy class.

Apparently, Milan will accept the bid City are offering, but will let Kaka decide whether he wants to go or not. Kaka has said before, that he will happily go along if Milan accept a bid for him

"Kaka' is not a greedy player."

He has been holding AC Milan to ransom with the threat of Madrid getting him practically every summer. He's renegotiated his contract with them more than once to 'fend' off big bad RM.

Kaka' is a smart player and if he's being offered anything like what has been mentioned, he'll be off in a flash.

People laughed when Beckham was linked with MLS - a quarter of a billion dollar contract later ( :wenger: ) and he was suited and booted for 'The Galaxy'

City can pull this off and he won't be the last.
