City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with 130 FFP breaches | Hearing begins 16th Sep 2024 | Concluded 9th Dec 2024 - Awaiting outcome

40 points, given the nature of the charges would be seriously disappointing in maintaining any sense of integrity for the league. I don't know how many charges Forest and Everton had but it was about a 6 point deduction?

I do wonder if they'll be stripped of the titles like Juve were a decade ago. That's the punishment that would be fun to see. Imagine Jose's reaction

Oh man Jose getting one more and Pep losing them all is a timeline I want to see.

They won't have decided yet, this was said before the hearing had finished (not even sure it has finished now). Just more nonsense spread around.

It's kind of weird the timing of this and Ashworth's sacking, he's going to whistle blow on Omar and Wilcox isn't he. City relegated but, like the Balrog taking Gandalf down with him, the news will come out that Omar and Wilcox are to face prosecution. Enter Edward Woodward to lead us out from this darkest hour.

Enter Wilcox the white?

I have no optimism. Though if they are found not guilty, the EPL will just look a complete joke.

Feel like there's going to be an agreed settlement between all parties in order to avoid endless appeals, and it'll inevitably piss all the fans off.

Absolutely nothing will happen to them. They will have sourced every loophole and ambiguous wording that they’ll get off free

You've really thought about this, haven't you :)

City will get away with everything, The Premier League will look like a joke for all of 5 minutes and everyone will get on with their life's and forget about any of this happening, city will stop being kaka as their previous results were all by design to take the heat off their all conquering form

Possible, I can see them going down for a season, like Juve probably won't hurt them much in the long run.

Is the poor run City are on related, do they know the hearing hasn't gone how they expected?

Does anyone have a good feeling about this…?
Obviously Rodri is a massive miss for them but with their bad form and many defeats I did wonder if the players and the club knew that something big was going to go down and that they aren't getting away with it and that's why things have gone south for them.

I doubt they will be stripped of their titles though, which would really be hilarious.

They’re going to light up League 2 next season and probably break some records. Ditto League 1 the season after, but I don’t think the championship will be easy especially after they’re sold in that year to an American investment consortium. Their manager, Gareth Barry, will be sacked midway through the season. Ultimately they’ll be back in the PL after winning the Championship playoffs under Bob Bradley.

Average attendance throughout the four years will be 11.5k, proving their massiveness.unfortunately none of this will happen

'Manchester City could learn fate next month - but appeal could drag on until next seasonReigning champions are accused of breaking 130 Premier League rules over 14-year period'

Man City could face serious sanction or maybe could not face serious sanction.

They might learn fate in ten days, sooner or possibly even later.

Manager Pep Guardiola, who says he is not worried, might be worried. An insude source has described the mood as 'tense' and 'relaxed' - with several players concerned the next few games could be won, lost or drawn.

In other news presented via X, The Times don't know anything and are simply speculating.

Stay tuned for more or less of this exclusive nothing as we keep you titillated for ad revenue.

Not really... not now at least. Considering how "quickly" it concluded. Something just feels off about it. As @Big Ben Foster stated, they have probably come to a settlement, that probably benefits City more than it should.

How likely is it that they’d be stripped of their titles and those titles be awarded to the runner-ups?
As likely as you, me and the biggest 3 names from the cafe being the new boyband sensation.

Pep held up 6 fingers as we all know after losing to Liverpool and was asked if he was similar to Mourinho, to which he replied "No, he won 3 I won 6", Mourinho has now responded in his typical hollywood fashion (Which I love) by saying "Guardiola said something about me... he won six trophies and I won three, but I won fairly and cleanly, if I lost, I want to congratulate my opponent because he was better than me. I don't want to win by dealing with 150 court cases."
Comedy. Until you think how "fair" Mourinho's titles were, with unprecedented spending, funded by one of the dirtiest sources in sport history.
Apart from that little element, he was spot on.

As always, any appeal will be successful. Even if they aren't cleared, it will be a hugely reduced punishment.

In other words, if they are found guilty, then the punishment announcement is a waste of time paying attention to.

Reading BlueMoon, the amount of them that think this is all made up, a "cartel" conspiracy and that their surge from league 1 to dominating the English game and winning a treble, posting revenues and figures matching global beasts like United and the Spanish giants is all above board.

It's breathtaking delusion of a level not seen since the Liverpool t shirts.

I feel the tshirts never get enough coverage - genuinely amazing looking back a professional entity thought that was a) a good idea and b) the right thing to do. I just remembered it was Pool, makes perfect sense.

Just imagine the shitstorm Sky and every media outlet they would create if it was United. I feel like it’s just been ignored by major media companies because it’s City

I came to post this.

Probably. Probably..

There certainly is precedent for stripping titles among the European top 5.

Whether they go down that route or not is to be seen.
