Beyond my meltdown mostly about missing out on a top signing I've asked myself that question and the answer is Mata is better, scores more goals and is a United player. Although people seem to think Fabregas will play beside Matic, his best position is behind the striker. Will he displace one of Oscar, Willian or Hazard? Perhaps but unlikely.

I agree. Mata plays in the same position Fabregas would. He wants to play further forward. We don't need him.
