It was the right decision from the club and further evidence Gazidis and Wenger seem to be trying to enact something resembling a plan.

It would have been a strange move to bring him back, considering it would cost you £27 million and £150,000 k wages, which is greatly needed elsewhere.
 
He can play a deep role like Xavi at Barcelona and get forward if he has to. Watch him dictate the tempo of matches with Chelsea, he wasn't allowed to do that at Barca because Xavi was there.

But really, the squad Mourinho is building looks incredible. Zouma, Willian, Matic, Diego Costa and Fabregas are amazing signings and all (except probably Willian) for reasonable prices. I think they'll stroll to the title next season and will challenge massively in Europe. Semi's at least for me.

Definitely agree. The only issue is whether the transfers can perform which I'm sure they will. Also Jose is abit unpredictable wouldn't surprise me if he left after some dodgy home loss like last time.

Clearly he wanted back, but Arsenal rejected him. I'm not convinced there are any other "super" players in the market at this price.
 
How can we as United fans not be disappointed, even if we weren't in for his its the difference between Chelsea and United in the transfer market. They get things done and we feck around, it's painful to watch.

Both Costa and Fabregas before the World Cup and we sign no body. I'm actually freaked...

All achieved by selling a player from the factory (DeBruyne), A player surplus to requirement (Mata), and a stupid ass with an afro (Luiz).

Disgusted my this move for multiple reasons.

1. Why the hell does Fabregas want to play under the guy he hated and even fought with. The same guy that stomped on him when he was laying on the ground.

2. "Once a gunner, always a gunner" then signs for a rival London club.

3. Chelsea doesn't need another fecking midfielder.

4. We are still with a pile of shit called a midfield and we just missed out again on one of worlds best midfielders.

Gz Fabregas, you have signed for the money, although ironically your new job is being the bus driver.

Chelsea let a legend go, get a replacement within a few weeks. We've let about 5 go and still haven't replaced any of them.
 
I've always felt that Cesc didn't like United much, so I'm not bothered.

Nah he was a twat at Arsenal too. For all the talk of how Barcelona are such cheats, divers, disgraces etc. Cesc gets an easy ride, he's one of the worse. Don't even think the rest of their team are too bad to be honest, despite popular opinion, but Cesc is a self-obsessed twat.

Feel like Mourinho would rather use ramires in that formation but either one would be ridiculous really. A 4-2-3-1 with Fab playing deeper and Oscar in the hole or the 4-3-3 with Cesc in an advanced role.

He's not that good. He's not a CM. Speaks volumes that only Chelsea wanted him when we are crying out for a midfielder.

It appears as if Cesc hasn't taken our rejection well. I expect him to pull out all the stops against us next year.
 
Some of the bitter comments in this thread are embarrasing.

Admit it, it is a fantastic signing at an amazing price. As is Costa. And selling Luiz was smart also.

There are literally dozens of comments that would tell you otherwise. If you want top players you go in for them as many times as is necessary - "pride" wouldn't get in the way of that.

Chelsea know exactly how to do business and don't feck around at all. They have assembled their to be front 6 (Hazard, Costa, Willian, Oscar, Fabregas, Matic) in 2 bloody seasons, whilst we sit here and buy piles of flops (bar RvP and Mata). Then they managed to sell off what they don't need for 80-90 mill. fecking ridiculous, he cost the same as that overpriced shit microphone. Absolutely fuming
