Are you just being deliberately obtuse now?

If someone says that posts must have been invisible, you'd have to be pretty daft to take it literally.

Saying something is invisible doesn't have to be taken literally for the rest of your remark to not appear as sarcasm.

Just a tip.

So in failing to read a post in the context of the ongoing conversation you misunderstand it, and then rather than just accepting it and moving on you decide to try and be a smart arse.

Way to go, man.

Meet AlwaysRedwood. Annoying, isn't he.

How much meltdown would there be if Roy was still in charge making these signings?

We'd have scousers throwing themselves in front of cars and dousing themselves in petrol.

Instead we get "King Kenny" being miscast as some form of scheming mastermind. He probably tricked "Mr Ferguson" into signing the suddenly overrated Jones, all the while working in the background.. on a secret deal to sign..err Stewart Downing?

Meireles is top quality. Who is supposed to be interested in him? I reckon you'd get £20m for him easily.

No and no. He is good enough to play for a top club as a squad player and that is it.

He does very well in a free role in midfield, but I don't think he is good enough to justify being given such a luxury role. As a squad player, I think he is a good asset as his short passing is sound, he moves well off the ball and generally is good at keeping a high pace to his game. He can't tackle for toffee though, which means he can't be trusted in a two man midfield.

I'd say he is worth about what we paid for him. Which makes him a worthwhile purchase but not necessarily a great one.

No idea who will be in for him but he is a good player so I imagine there will be takers.

I'd be quite happy to see him but I won't be gutted if we go for a different type of player either.

Roy - took decent technical players and turned them into concrete blocks. Also signed Joe Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky - the three players even Kenny couldn't revitalise.

Kenny - Took decent and/or underperforming players and turned them into proper players.

There is a lot more justified faith that there is purpose to Kenny and Commoli's transfer strategy than Hodgson.

Meireles out and Adams in?

That would be absolutely brilliant.

If Adam proves himself physically, shows he can contribute defensively, cuts out the sloppiness in his game, cuts out the hollywood balls and show he can play with better players, he'll be a better player than Meireles.

That's a pretty big if though.

 Have you never debated with Redwood before? It leads me to self harm.

You're just polishing a turd.

This summer stinks of Roy.

Meireles is twice the player Adam will ever be. Adam is not going to improve Liverpool, there are better CM's out there who will offer a lot more both on the ball and off it.

Spurs are in it because 'Arry bids on every midfielder on the planet. We're in it to pay Dalglish back for his failed attempt to feck with the Jones bid. Fergie figures if Dalglish'll up his bid $6M for someone he had no chance of getting, he'll surely up his bid for someone he does.

He is a clever player, and can create goalscoring chances, which is maybe something a bit lacking in a few of their other players, so seems fair enough to me to be honest. Surprised they would let Meireles go though - after he settled in he was excellent for them.

Far from a given he will be moved on though.

it's really more a case that he seems to be the most obvious player out. We'll be overstocked in midfield.

You do certainly seem to be over-stocked, but a couple of them are youngsters, and Gerrard has had injury problems for several seasons now, so he may miss a few games as well.

What about Aquilani and Poulsen? Do they have futures or do you think they'll be out on their arses? Aquilani is a decent player so I wouldn't be surprised if you kept him (unless Juve give you however much you want) but surely Poulsen will be kicked out?

Who do you think will be your starters next season?

Poulsen is obviously gone.

With the midfielders we're hording, I wager we'll be playing 4-3-3 more often than not. Lucas and Gerrard are the only certs in midfield as far as I can see, with Henderson and Meireles/Adam to battle for the last spot. That leaves Spearing as backup for defensive midfield and Shelvey and Coady as 4th/5th choice for the two more midfield advanced roles, unless we keep Meireles in which case will be too stocked to field a youngster and will almost certainly send Shelvey on loan. But it will still be three players, Meireles/Adam/Henderson battling for one spot. None of them can do what Lucas does and none of them can match Gerrard as a player.

Personally, I rate Aquilani more than Adam but I think he is more of a fallback option if Adam falls through for some reason.

Jova and Poulsen are out. As will one of Aquilani or Miereles be. Shelvey will go on loan whether as part of Adam deal or separately (no point sitting around not playing). That should strengthen our bench considerably (though expensively).

I wouldn't be sticking any eggs in a basket named "Charlie Adam"

If yis can get him for under ten million then fair enough

but remember youse are supposed to be genuine title challengers

You did well driving up that Phil Jones price......

Oh, I also thought Henderson looked shocking the other night too.

Says who ?

We're a side that's finished 7th & 6th respectively over the past couple of seasons. So breaking back into the top 4 is our immediate challenge. Only then will we be able to possibly attract players who'd be interested in joining a club which looks like it may be in a position to challenge for top honours.

Oh, I also thought Henderson looked shocking the other night too.

From what I've seen of the lad, he does his best work in the final 3rd of the field. Pearce had him playing as a defensive midfielder against Spain on Sunday.

I seriously doubt Dalglish has bought him to occupy such a role. & I doubt he'll come up against many sides in The Premiership that keep hold of the ball the way that the Spaniards do.

Barcelona made quite a few United players look 'shocking' a couple of weeks ago. But we all know they're anything but.

Given time, I think Henderson will be a major asset for us.

The fans commentators in yesterday MUTV Paddy's show made Adam look like the second coming of the Christ. One even called him the complete midfielder.

Says you, or you should be anyway

The mentality shouldn't be let's get top four, as that'll probably land yis in fifth

It's Adam's lack of 'completeness' that means the biggest clubs are giving him a wide berth. Had he possessed the attributes of a rounded midfielder - stamina, decision-making, ball retention in risky areas, defensive nous - it would be more than just Europa League teams who would be attempting to sign him.

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has confirmed that 'preliminary discussions' have taken place with Liverpool over Charlie Adam but insists it is too early to speculate on the level of interest in the midfielder.

Sky Sports.

I wont right Adam off, if he steps up for a bigger club then the 10mil or whatever will look like money well spent. If he can't hack the bigger playground then he'll be a laughing stock once more.

What i do like about Adam is he seems like a guy who isn't intent with what he's got, he wants to prove himself. Players with a point to prove, with that determination often do well.
