We should have put Maz next to him so he’d have a bit of mobility, and pushed Bruno forward.
Even if it meant starting Lindelof.

I agree with your bottom paragraph. We looked good in Ruud's games with those two as the double pivot. Ugarte compliments him well as he effectively does the running for him and they both have a lot of bite.I thought he did quite well today considering he's barely kicked a ball for a month or so.
Obviously the agility is gone but he won plenty of tackles, decent on the ball.
I think Amorims one big mistake so far is binning him and Ugarte as the midfield two.
That may be so but he could have still used him while he was at the club. He’s been left on the bench so lacks match fitness.I agree with your bottom paragraph. However, I imagine that Amorim is in a position where he is managing high earners out of the club, even if they have something to offer.
He probably hasn't changed his habits from his 20's. Late 20's, early 30's is when your body starts letting you down unless you take really good care of it. You can get by in your 20's with bad eating habits, having some drinks and not being fully commited to your physical training but once you hit this age these things really starts to factor in big time. How have his legs gone so early, hes only 32 but plays like hes 52. On the ball today he was ok but he just cant cover the ground as a DM.. He cant do it.

I thought he was absolutely shocking today. Got his pockets picked so many times today in bad positions it was really worrying.
Looks like he's here to stay
If hes staying then might as well try and convert him to emergency CB for the final season he can't play in midfield.Ffs - the thought of him being around next season still is really compounding my awful mood today

At least Casemiro and Lindelof have signed their contracts with the Club. Imagind being a fan and paying your hard earned cash that fills the Glazers and Ratcliffes pockets, whilst ticket prices continue to increase and the decline continues. He knows he is not in manager's plans still decided to sit on bench and collect his checks rather taking Italy/Saudi options thats where I lost my respect for this guy, I liked him a lot and its not his fault we offered him so much money but its guys like Case/Lindelof I lost respect for players these days. end of the day they already got enough money for their life time so what happens to their PRIDE? how can they accept these situations and shamelessly collect salary checks every week?
Bruno was covering the wing that Zirkzee couldn’tBruno is probably the worst partner he can get. If it was Ugarte, think Casemiro would look better.
The amount of times I saw this guy against 2 or 3 Spurs midfielders and thinking where the feck is Bruno.

We'll just have to hope there's a Saudi/MLS club willing to buy him. We'd probably be ready for it to be some small fee of 5-10 million (maybe even no fee) just to get rid of his wages. Can't do it anymore in PL at age of 33 but would still dominate Saudi League probably. Can't even blame him. Just another braindead decision to give him a four year deal at age 30. So much charity from our top leadership over the past 5-6 years.
That would be the ideal situation for the club, but probably not for him. We'll just have to hope there's a Saudi/MLS club willing to buy him. There's reports of Casemiro claiming that he's very happy at United and will make sure that he sees the entirety of his contract in Manchester
Casemiro had no chance at all to do good against Tottenham. He was alone in a pivot for a lot of the time against a mobile Spurs midfield. That had nothing to do with his age. He was doing his part of the job. Bruno was not. Noone looks good in a single midfield. He can still be of use when placed next to Collier or Ugarte, but don´t put him next to Eriksen or Bruno.

He's won everything in European football and won't get games for Brazil in their starting 11 anymore, while being paid a fortune. No wonder he's fine where he is.Very happy sitting on the bench and collecting a huge wage. Says it all about his mentality right now.
And what's that?Very happy sitting on the bench and collecting a huge wage. Says it all about his mentality right now.

Back in the day old players used to move to smaller clubs. Bruce moved to Birmingham while Pally and Robson moved to Middlesbrough. We're Casemiro's version of Middlesbrough and the idiots even gave him a huge salary and a long term contract.Suspect that's him saying that you have to pay me to leave otherwise I am prepared to sit on the bench.
What Stadjer and Vault Dweller said. No desire to start/play, happy to just collect his paycheck in what is essentially semi retirement for him now.And what's that?
