What Stadjer and Vault Dweller said. No desire to start/play, happy to just collect his paycheck in what is essentially semi retirement for him now.
I'm sure if he was the player-manager, he'd start more.

As things stand, his job is to stay fit, be available for selection and do his best when called upon. From what I can see, he's doing his job. Anything beyond that is something we should take up with the club or even the manager, before the player.

None of you lot criticizing him have ever been a situation where you're potentially leaving millions on the table.

We pay him a ridiculous amount. European teams will not even pay a third of his salary. Even Saudi will not pay similar wages he's on so why would he go there? I doubt his wife would want to live in Saudi either.

We're clearly stuck with him for next season so we may as well make use of him in his last year. He looked ok next to Ugarte under Ruud.

Absolutely it's on the club first.

Why wouldn’t he? He’s on a massive salary, playing for a top-tier club, and hardly faces any criticism from the fans. He’s got it easy.
The he's got it easy part cannot be understated.

He's been crap from day one but has hardly faced any criticism. Some deluded themselves into thinking he was good at first, but he wasn't. The only difference was Rashford being in incredible form for a few months which carried the rest of the underperforming squad. As soon as his form went out the window, what happened? We sunk to new lows because no one else was performing.

Its our choice to play him or not. We gave him an 18.2 million pound a year contract. He’s not obligated to move anywhere just because we would now like him to or because we think we made a mistake with the wages/contract length.

We will have him til the end of his contract now. If saudi wanted him theyd have had him by now. No other european club is coming close to 350k a week. I know everyone thinks he is going to move on in summer but i dont think it will materialise

Yeah can't see it happening either.

Playing a 4231 system he could be the "shield" in front of the defensive line. Not ever taking a step in the offensive part of the field. That part, I think, he still could thrive in with his experience. But since our manager love to make all our midfielders look like crap by playing them in a gung-ho system having them run up and down for ninety minutes he will look like crap every game he plays.

Wrong or right, it doesn't matter, but having that kind of money on the bench is so sad.

For him to be any use you need to give him a run out every now and then.

EL is going to make or break the season for the United accountants...you might need to rely on Casemiro to get United over the line in a semi or final.

Give him an hour here and there, preferably with Ugarte next to him.

While I am personally pissed off that he plans to sit out his contract and collect a cheque you just can't blame him, we gave him the contract, we made the mistake, not Casemiro.

And if I was him and Sir Jim Glazer held me up at the poster child for what's wrong with the club and the first thing I would fix, I would sit on my ass and feck up his plans too.

You would imagine that he'll get some interest in the summer and we will agree on a compensation package so he leaves on a free/minimal fee. Everyone "wins". There is no way he should forgo all that he's due to earn, no one in their right mind would. I just hope all parties agree to work something out.

I don't blame him at all if he sees out his contract.

One of the worst signings since SAF and so predictable that it would be a disaster.

Yeah, great shielding for Tottenham's goal.

The guy can't even move!!!! A statue dressed as a footballer.

So much money wasted on him and Shaw. Only hope is the people in charge learned some lessons.

Yeah - can’t argue with that. That extra year is what makes it all even more tragicomic.

As someone said, he played well beside Ugarte in Ruud's games in a 4231. I think he can do a job beside Ugarte and maybe Collyer, but beside anyone else (Bruno, Mainoo, Eriksen) his lack of legs will get exposed because they don't have the legs to cover for him either.

Amorim's very first match v Ipswich away, he picked Cas and Eriksen as the midfield and predictably enough they got the run around. Neither were used much for a number of weeks until Newcastle at home where, inexplicably, Amorim decided to give the pairing another go which, again predictably, ended in disaster and Zirkzee being the sacrificial lamb after 30 minutes.

Now I know you can say what good is a player if he can only play beside certain players and not others. But if he's staying another 18 months, we're paying him a shitload and we're decimated with injuries, Amorim needs to use him in a way that plays to his strengths not his weaknesses.
