Going off some of the comments I've read on here, I'm glad I've cancelled it. Not worth £15 per month

Michael "I'll just agree with anything the ref does, so I don't have to come up with any insightful stuff" Owen. Has there ever been a worse co/"expert"-commentator?

Annoying that the prick mooched a Premier League medal from us.

Is this American owned? First time I've watched the HT or Post match program - reminded me of back home & the American football studios & commentary/theatrics in suits & bright colors. It's like being at the circus

This channel is dire for football. The rugby coverage is actually very good in comparion. But look at their pundits:

Owen, James, Ginola, McManaman, Hargreaves. All talk out of their arses.

I can't believe Michael Owen is getting paid to commit ear rape.

I have no idea what their punditry is like because McMannaman gives me hives so I don't watch anything but the two halves of football.

Its better than setanta / espn used to be
I imagine as they get more games (remember they won the champions league rights) they will get better pundits

I particularly liked when Owen was about to highlight how Welbeck dived and that there was no contact at all. In the middle of the sentence, the replay actually did show contact and he had to change it to "yeah, but it's not enough to go down for me. Webb is still bang on and I totally love the guy". Top notch stuff.

Nah the best one was when he watched a replay of Soldado basically catching the ball but decided that Webb couldn't be wrong so said 'I don't know what Evans is appealing for there'.

Cretin.

Completely forgot about that one  You're absolutely right though, that was truly mind-boggling. Even if he didn't believe it was a handball it was clear as day what Evans was appealing for.

The pundits will slowly start moving over from Sky to BT. It is inevitable.

I'd rather watch/listen to anyone other than that smug conceited bitter scouser with the mullet.

Owen speaks as though he's reading out an incoming telegram. It's like he's only capable of uttering 3 words at a time before pausing to figure out what to say next.

BT have shown themselves to be a very forward thinking and ruthless company with their coverage and I don't think Owen will last much longer.

It's a good deal for the actual coverage of what you get and the features they have during games like showing the pointless stuff like managers on a little screen in the bottom corner rather than making you miss the game. The only issue i have, like may others, is the pundits. They'll improve on this next season i'd imagine.

But how could they have ever thought that this years lot were going to be half way good enough? Surely a five minute conversation with any of them would reveal all you need to know. fecking hell they'd have been better taking Keyes and Grey back from the middle east station they're on atm.

Why do the media feel the need to get every ex player involved in punditry? Most of them are so clueless you'd swear they never played the game.

To be fair, there aren't very much great pundits available. Most of the good ones are still involved in the game somewhat so can't do it full-time.

Can't believe that there is someone out there that thought it would be a good idea to employ Michael Owen to talk about football. Meanwhile Steve McManaman has to be up there with Craig Burley as the most hateful cnut on television.

Heard Gary McAllister for the first time co-commentating on the Chelsea game, have to say he sounded very good compared to the rest.

I like Gary McAllister, he does the Scottish football games, or at least he did the Rangers game today. The weekend games from Germany/France/Italy are good as well, as long as Owen Hargreaves isn't involved in any way.

They are going to have the Moto GP's as well and I like Baseball, so I will keep it for now. I just don't watch the build up to PL games or half time or after game stuff, just the actual game.

I finally got the App on my phone and it's surprisingly brilliant. Lots of highlights available for the stuff I missed as well.

Jim Beglin? Niall Quinn?

Owen is brutal though and his fecking accent grates badly. McMananamanamanamanaman's accent is unreal. All these ex-Pool players in the meejah and I reckon, since the start of the season, that there's been a pact to be utterly positive about Liverpool, no matter what. That fosters good will and belief in the manager......it's a fecking conspiracy!

I wouldn't have a problem with Hargreaves if he could actually speak. He's so bland that I don't really find him grating, but he can barely talk. How can someone of his age struggle to piece together a sentence? He speaks like a child who is learning to read for the first time.

Steve McManaman though. I'll never forget that game against Palace, where midway through the 2nd half, the coverage CUT BACK to McManaman in the studio, who was still shouting (like, actually shouting!) about the penalty in the first half. He'd said his piece in the half time break, but wanted to shout about it more, during the game! Would he have been screaming in such a manner if United conceded a similar penalty? Obviously yes, because he is getting paid for his utmost impartiality, right? :nervous:

God, he's crap. He has his opinion, which he's entitled to, but if someone disagrees with him, he talks over them, and continues to do so until he is louder than the other person. Use your inside voice, you curly headed feck.

If you think 10 minutes sounds too long to devote the time to, it's not. Owen is hilarious. It peaks towards the end with the golf ball hitting the window.

I'd feel sorry for him, but in reality he is making a living from talking shite on the television about football, after a fairly illustrious career of riding hot women and playing for good clubs, all the while racing a load of horses.

Jesus Christ. These footballers. They just have the best lives. Makes me think I should just stop this software engineering craic and set up shop as an agent. Half the footballers are retarded anyway so it's not like being completely underqualified or having no certification holds you back in any way. I'll just make myself on Football Manager, as an agent with 20 stats in everything. Use that as a business card. You'd have them calling you in hours.

Anyway, yeah, Michael Owen. I'm jealous of him. Fair play to him. Wanker.

I'm no longer watching us on BT. We always seem to lose or draw when on BT (at least thats how it feels without me actually going through the results)

feck BT. ESPN was the shit.

ESPN & Setanta were way superior to BT

I'd rather go without watching the football than watch BT

They'll have too many of the viewing rights next season which leaves us with no option but to watch football on their channels unfortunately.
