Had 7 key passes today which was a lot, 4 of them from crosses that were met by a United player's touch. He isnt usually that great with crosses so its nice to see some development

Can also say that 0 crosses from his teammates were met by a United player.

I’m not sure if he’s suited to the CM role even if he did well tonight. With our lack of attacking threats, he would be useful closer to goal. But then again, we don’t have another CM with his passing range.

Eriksen. But doesn’t have the other stuff needed for the role.

Either way, other than Amad and Hojlund, our four other options for the front three all don’t work for different reasons (Mount, Rashford, Zirkzee and Garnacho). We need to have Bruno, Amad, and Hojlund play together in those positions, as much as possible.

15 G/A already, 5+10. Not his best season, but at least he’s putting some numbers

He always does, even in our most godawful seasons, nobody can deny he really does hit decent numbers. There is a debate you can have about whether you really want to build a team around him, and some will argue for or against, and to me that's absolutely fine but come on, we can all at least acknowledge he does pretty well on the goals, assists and appearances fronts. I've gotten annoyed at Rashford and Shaw over the years with these things, but Bruno just keeps on going and I really respect him for it (though he can be annoying at times)

I see it totally different. He is crap in tight spaces around the box. I like him deeper way more.
It just puts him in positions where his weaknesses are more problematic. Your thoughts come from a proud tradition to put as many attacking players in one lineup because... I don't know, maybe it is some FIFA Ultimate Team mindset or something. There is a reason, AMs aren't playing in CM for most other teams but I guess, we still haven't gotten the memo yet.
Good assist to Rasmus, average otherwise. But many others were way worse
Seems about right to me.

Made me cringe a little. Apparently there wasn't another stat to add to the tweet than the one block/interception/tackle/clearance. Doesn't do a great service to the term captains performance.

Agree. From what I read about Amorims Sporting, the coach was pretty big on generating high quality chances, so chances with a high probability to score from. Which does help the striker in those systems a lot to bolster their stats and produces many cutbacks, either by the wingbacks or the inside 10s. Thats something we have seen with Bruno and Mount to a degree but still not enough yet. Thats why I personally don't think, the one to Hojlund, who didn't convert, was particularly great as he was fairly unchallenged and didn't had to aim too much - it was a hard low cross into a general area. Goals that Man City scores since 6 or so years on a regular basis. So - good to see us finally reading the memo and seeing a few of our players with visible adjustments.

Overall, a typical Bruno performance. On the ball I thought he was pretty decent today, against the ball it is just like watching Eriksen. It is just wrong. There was a scene where he almost climbed the back of the opponents captain who kept him away with one arm and continued his dribbling. I don't think, he should play as part of the midfield two - he can be useful enough in games, where he can fall back from one of the 10 positions to bolster midfield but other than that, just keep him closer to opponents goal. Thats where his strengths are.

I think he's brilliant and totally understand why he's being played deeper but I do agree with those saying it's a loss to not have him closer to the goal.

He is nothing like Ozil or Aubemayang at Arsenal.

He works his arse off and is literally our one true creative player than can create atleast 5 chances a game.

Sure, he loses the ball because of this - but we arent exactly playing or trying to emulate City here & i bet even if KDB came here then he would lose possession much more being the only creative player in the first team than a team that has 4 or 5 creative players to share the balance

He falls on the floor, cries and shouts a bit too much & i would like someone take the captains armband a bit but i dont necessarily see who that is in our squad either so he is probably the best captain we have aswell.

That second goal is all Hoijland for me. Bruno great idea but the execution was wrong. 9/10 the forward won’t be able to control that ball. But it ends well and he gets an assist.

I really hope people would stop looking at numbers and focus on the complete 90 minutes. We have great examples of Maz and Amad being excellent for the complete 90.

Bruno and Rashford have patches and it’s not good enough at this club

Man City 1:2 Man Utd New
Had an awful game, but sure is good at penalties.

Had an excellent game apart from a couple of moments near the end and the miss. Well done on the peno.

Another poor game, he needs competition. Need to start picking up a future replacement to give us options.

Bruno's second half head loss was so bad I thought he'd shank the penalty. Funnily enough after he scored he seemed to remember how to pass to his teammates!

Such a mad thing how confidence works on a football pitch. Was genuinely worried how 'gone' he looked in the second half.

He's so good at pens, I felt so confident when he took it.

Awful game from him, but who cares!!! WE WON

Easily our second best player today, good game, shame about that miss.

I'm not sure what to think of him, but i know his life would be made easier if he had to Amads on either wing.

Thank God he doesn't let his mistakes get to his head like a lot of our other players. Cool penalty under massive pressure.

Amad is the 10 I’ve been crying out for all these years. He needs to take Rashford’s number.

Penalty and win will mask his performance but he was truly dreadful today, a common sight anytime you see him in a big game.

If you compare him and Amads performances as the 10’s they were night and day. Goal masked what was genuinely a 3/10 performance. I don’t think he can play there in this Amorim team. Will have to play deeper: lacks the skill set.

Weird player. Stats alone suggest he's world class. But watching him is a very frustrating experience

Shouldn't have been on the pitch to take the penalty really, he was so bad and wasteful, but he took it really well.

So funny how people can see things so wildly different. We have some posters saying he was our 2nd best player and others saying he was dreadful. He was certainly more of the latter for me, so frustrating today.

I thought he had a good game but I would be in the minority looking at the replies here, but I stick with my opinion from watching the match by myself and no other influences

Nobody who watched us today would claim he was our second best player today. With Onana and Dalot one our worst performers today. But scored a very important pen.

He did very well to put that penalty away at that point in the game. That showed great mentality. However, that should not absolve him of all of the criticism that he should face for his all-round performance, which I thought was very, very poor today.

Scroll up a bit and you'll see for yourself. I frankly don't know which game they watched though, I'd be shocked if it was the derby.

Wasn’t his best performance but my goodness does he have balls of steel.
Yep that's the take away for sure, was having a stinker of a game and then cool as a cucumber for that pen. I've seen world class players not be able to turn it around like he did

He can’t play as one of those 10’s. I do think he can be a CM though in this system for more attacking lineups, but I certainly think getting a top class inside 10 would be great business this summer.

He has no natural place in this system. He pretty much has to play at the moment because of his status but I think (hope) Rubin will slowly phase him out into being over the next 12/18 months.
