Would have been some player if he could take care of the ball.
Would he though , his only saving grace creativity is highly dependent on him being given all the freedom to try low percentage play .

Take that away from him there is hardly a top level footballer left .

I've often said he's too consumed with trying to score a perfect goal and its why he misses so often. He seems to always want to blast the ball right in the roof of the net or have some cute finish just because of how good it will make him look.

He misses so many chances by doing this. There was no reason for him to hit the ball as hard as he did but I'm used to it with him at this point.

It's the same with his passes, he wants to show off but simplicity is almost always the better option unless you're Ronaldinho or Neymar types where they can be showboat and efficient at the same time.

Problem is Amorim will play him even more then ETH if that's even possible
Hopefully this only happens if we get a manager who finally polishes Bruno's possession game.

If Bruno remains undroppable playing like he did for Ole and ten Hag, it'll be worrying because we need to finally start prioritising playing players who are comfortable under pressure, and value possession.

Unfortunately that's not possible there is a reason why he plays the way he plays .

He is fairly limited in technical sense can't withstand any pressure to put it politely , his creativity is largely function of high volume low percentage plays . If you try to change it or reign it then there is not much left .

Moments player.

Good ball to Rashford at the back post (volley that hit the woodwork), good layoff to Garnacho, and he obviously converted the penalty.

His overall game is way too chaotic. 67% passing accuracy at this level is poor. I get that he's a risk taker. It can be to the detriment of the team at times. He also has a habit of pressing alone.

He's not scoring enough goals from open play anymore. Maddison scored his 50th PL goals from 201 games yesterday. Only 2 of them are from the penalty spot. Bruno has scored 55 PL goals from 169 games. However, 20 of them are from the penalty spot. 1 free kick goal. For someone who has elite ball striking ability, he should be scoring more goals from outside the box.

He turns 31 next September. I really hope that the club can move on from him next summer. He was given that new deal by INEOS and a Portuguese manager is coming in... so we probably have a few years left of him.

It's not just Bruno though, I'd move on from the likes of Shaw and Rashford too. The three of them are talented players, but just aren't dependable over the course of a season. They've played under multiple managers. Especially Shaw and Rashford. A bit of a clear-out is needed in terms of key players/senior players.

I can not blame him for yesterday. What I've noticed with him is that he is trying to play more balls on the ground. Rarely something over the top. He would've had 2 assists and a goal, if not for Garnacho missing from a few yards out.

When Gyokeres comes, Bruno’s gonna cook
Be interesting to see. Bruno has workrate I think if Amorim hones it. Can he up his general quality of play outside of three chances created? Can he get him back to Bruno of first 18 months? Will system suit Bruno?

Take captaincy of him also. Not good leader.

Man Utd 2:0 PAOK FC New
Looked like the game was passing us by in the first half but thankfully Bruno provided some much needed creativity in the second half.

Bruno has a lot of faults but he's the only player in this set up who really tries to make things happen (besides Casemiro bizarrely). Honestly, without Bruno we would probably just pass the ball from side to side and draw blanks week in week out.

He's really good at those crosses to the back post. Provided the cross isn't a corner kick

With the current pace I believe he will finish the season with 30 G/A? Honestly great stuff when you consider the current state of our attack.

Put him in a working system and he’s a productive machine. You can’t build a side around him as a 10 but he is worth building a system to get the very best out of him.

Scholes talking about his positioning, which I've been saying for months.

Exactly. Our attack isn't going to reach another level by taking Bruno out and replacing him with a less productive midfielder.

Another POOR overall performance. Forgot was actually playing second half. Good cross. Bad game.

It's not the Hollywood passes going wrong, it's how he misplaced the simplest of passes.

There is no indication he wants to change

Think the hope is the team collectively creates more through better coaching/tactics and a higher floor of technical and athletic ability. If Bruno can fit into that then great. But if he doesn’t it’s better not to try and shoehorn him in anyways in the name of “productivity” because his floor performance these days is far too low to try and build a top side around.

Get him off corners NOW. Absolute liability.

And free kicks.

Never understood why he has such a monopoly on them. He’s scored 1 free kick in his whole time here in the PL, yet gets first dibs on every single one. It’s even more mystifying when we have Eriksen in the squad who is a far better set piece taker.

I thought he was absolutely woeful in the first half, but significantly better in the second.

He's still a problem. We'll never be consistently good with him leading the attack. He is simply an inconsistent player.

Perfect ball for assist. He played one at that weekend for rashford when he hit the bar that was a better ball than casemiros for the pen - people have become too used to the level of quality at times. Saying that doesn't mean i don't think he has flaws

He told you this? Or is it another case of peak armchair football psychology?

Fans ey.. they believe in random myths that someone on youtube tells them.

Bruno likes to get G/A but he isn't desperate... I have seen him give away penalties to team mates when they are struggling for confidence, clearly a sign of someone who is desperate right?

I have seen him dummy knowing the player behind him has a better chance coming onto the ball.. again desperate right?

Bruno has his flaws but some of the things people believe is ridiculous.

Played a nice through ball to Amad who had his shot saved. Decent cross for Amad's goal, though really Amad made it into a good cross. Otherwise, I find him a very frustrating player and a shadow of what he was. I wish he was sold to be honest.

He monopolises set pieces because he's desperate for stats. He is an absolute hindrance taking shooting free kicks and corners.

His corners are absolute rubbish. It's really not that hard to put in decent delivery from a corner, you just don't take it like your having a shot.

He's lucky the next manager is Portuguese. That will give him a free run for a few months. Hopefully Amorim will realise soon he can't be a guaranteed starter going forward.

You think an individual player decides who takes set pieces? Surely it's the management team?

And Ruud agreeing. In fact Ruud pre-empted it if anything. Bruno is such a passion merchant. I know his heart is in the right place and he's desperate to help his team, but he needs to trust the team - that's good leadership.

One could argue Bruno being all over the pitch could be a reason our forwards struggle at times, he should be closer to them.

Scholesey loves Ruud though, doesn't he? He's already on record saying Ruud is the forward he enjoyed playing with most

The Ruud and Scholes love was both ways, the runs are actually similar to Hojlunds. It's just a shame the team is a state - i believe there is a good player there.

As for Bruno, I've said it for a long time that Bruno is a problem positionally. I went to watch a few games last year and he was all over the shop.

@Scandi Red what do you think? You seeing the same yet?,
