A fact would also be that he is a very poor choice for captain. Being the best of a bad bunch, doesn't make you a great player. He's bang average
Again, these are opinions, not facts.

I agree that he's not the best choice for captain but then again we don't know what goes on behind closed doors when not on the field. As for him being bang average, ironically given your 'fact' claim, this is absolutely not supported by objective evidence.

It doesn't matter what goes on behind closed doors. He's been the captain of the poorest era of our recent history. Whether you class that as fact or opinion is irrelevant.

I call him bang average because of several factors. He's a good player, not elite. Some of our fanbase hype him as being better than what he is because he stands out as being the best of a very poor bunch here. He's not getting a regular game for ANY elite team in the Premier league or any of the big hitters in Europe. He's a mid table kinda playmaker who blows hot and cold. We've somehow come to idolise him when our standards should be much higher.

If he goes we need to replace him with Eze or palmer. Palmer will give us the numbers Bruno can produce but Eze will fit into a system better.

So you're moving the goalposts then - we agree they're not 'facts' but opinion. Just like your opinion that he's midtable level.

This conversation has been done to death here so I'm not going to have it again, but feel free to randomly pick a page of this thread and read it if you want to see how it would likely go.

We are never getting Palmer. And Eze has injury issues so would be a risk we can't really afford to take.

Your funny. We both think he;s rubbish. End of

if we win with like 5-0 or similar today then i wonder if he will start benched in more games in the future... but that`s probably just a hypothetical thought...

Have you seen us play? We are not winning 5 0, especially without Ugarte

Eze is diabolically crap. His numbers are so average ever since Olise left.

@Craig Ward Inter Milan? Athletico Madrid? Juventus? I mean even Liverpool's team is near perfect but theres no way Szboszlai & Curtis Jones are better than Bruno right at this point in time.

It's just most of our fan base want us to play like Barcelona and Guardiola's possesion football and therefore points a middle finger at the ONLY creative player we have in the whole squad. Bruno will hold on to possession when we have more creativity within the team - its easily seen in his national team.

If we're replacing him, I just want a sensible, calm creator.

No trivela attempts every game, no toddler histrionics at every perceived foul or misplaced pass, corners that can reach the six yard box, no maverick bullshit. Just a physical, sensible, intelligent footballer.

it's just a shame Ugarte is missing.Would have been nice to see Ugarte Mainoo, Moorhouse

Cool story bro.

I'd gladly take another Bruno.

Sounds like Declan Rice

Such a controlled performance without Bruno tonight. We didn't miss his work rate or creativity. Thank god he wasn't there to try one of his reckless passes. We were able to carve open Newcastle just fine without him. Added bonus that we didn't have to put up with any of his silly arm waving or whinging tonight either. I much prefer seeing our players lose with a whimper!

This match wouldn’t have been particularly different with Fernandes in there.

Strange post. Created plenty of opportunities today but lack of clinical finishing and switching off defensively in the first half cost us. Neither of which Bruno helps with.

In one where we offer 100m and tempt Chelsea. He’d jump at the chance to join us. I know it’s impossible though.
Thats a masterstroke. Exactly what we need, just bring in ONE young player for a crazy sum and put all our hopes up that he'll finally be the missing piece to bring us glory. I mean, he must be because we probably can't affort anybody else for this amount but I guess, the rest of the squad is just waiting to flourish as soon as we bring in another 22 english goldenboy.

Some of you will never learn.

Desperate attempt. You can do better

We didn't create noticably more or less, worse or better chances today. We would have lost that game the same way we lost it right there. Lets face it, the guy is one of multiple big issues in our squad. Heck even just in our midfield. Lets not get triggered by WUM attempts only here to stir up some controversy

Our best opportunity was Casemiro's sitter which Newcastle's CB gifted to us. The other ones that spring to mind were Maguire headers from set pieces and Hojlund's miss. Plenty of opportunities? Really?

Did you watch the Bournemouth game? This was a similar performance.
Not remotely similar in terms of the quality of chances created.

Bruno might be one of the most frustrating players out there but he is still one of our best players. If he had started over Zirkzee, Eriksen or Casemiro today I think this match could have gone a lot different.

Are you forgetting what kind of impact Bruno had when we signed him? We went unbeaten . I was actually joking though. I know we can’t just splash on 1 player. We need a ton of positions.

Think that this is honestly a pretty bad sign, when we use a 3:0 loss to Bournemouth and a 2:0 loss to Newcastle to re-encourage ourselves what a good player Bruno must be.

We lost all our battles today. Even Casemiro looked weak. With Bruno it would have looked no different.

I swear every time he has been out (probably less than 5-10 times) the manager either picks the strangest replacements (e.g Maz at 10, Zirkzee instead of Mainoo in front of a geriatric midfield two) or players like Mainoo, Uargte etc have been injured or available.

It's just blind luck and infuriating we never actually get to see what a full strength and well managed Utd side can be without him in the team ffs.

Bruno also isn't playing for a United that is in any capacity a competitive team, it's like saying that the best British heavyweight at the current moment in time is Daniel Dubois, who despite being the best is not operating on a level close to the best within his division.

Additionally, Rashford is also currently United's most dangerous forward player both statistically and assessing his performance level but being the best doesn't objectively project an acceptable standard.

Bruno is part of the regime alongside Rashford, Shaw and co where they need to be sold in order for the club to move forward. Bruno isn't a wide 10 he has no athleticism or technical ability running with the ball. He lacks the intelligibility to play as the double pivot due to poor positional sense and discipline. He doesn't have a future in Amorim's system.

We had an xg of 2.66 vs Bournemouth and only an xg 0.94 vs Newcastle. We would have created more chances, had more energy in midfield and therefore less likely to get bullied by the opposition. Those first 30 minutes were the worst we've played under Amorim, and there was only a slight improvement after that as Newcastle took their foot off the gas. We were far more spineless tonight than we were vs Bournemouth.

What's the point of xG when our strikers couldn't hit a barndoor from 1m away? xG on its own is just a random statistic. But yeah, we were spineless against Newcastle tonight.
