Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

"my deals great, MPs are dumb twats, it's their fault not mine"
Worse than that. There was a definite inference that Parliament is the enemy of the people. I'm genuinely shocked by that speech. It was reckless, threatening, self preservation and rabble rousing.

She's the Prime Minister who cried nothing. Another absolutely pathetic statement solely focused on pandering to the press to ensure that she's not the villain, even if it was about getting her deal through how is blaming all MP's apart from herself likely to get more of them on side?

When they come back from meeting the frothing mouthed constituents after they get an earful in the clinics as 'Nazi treasonous fascists' or abusive and threatening emails they may be scared into backing the deal, I guess.

She's like my dad who kept trying to force feed me a prawn pasta when I was a kid, even though I'm allergic to prawns. He just wouldn't take no for an answer because he had spent hours preparing it. Eventually he said "well you can just starve, then".

They've said no to your deal twice, May. It's a shit deal. It's a prawn pasta.

We need someone to do a Geoffrey Howe on her.
Slipping through my fingers?
That's a great song. Too good for her.

Haha it was the same for me but onions not prawns and my old ma used to try and sneak them in.

I wrote earlier that I think she's got a good chance of getting it through and I don't think this statement really affects that but it had nothing of substance and, if anything, just made her job in trying to win more of them round marginally more difficult.

Here the the PM’s full statement:
“Nearly three years have passed since the public voted to leave the European Union.
“It was the biggest democratic exercise in our country’s history.
“I came to office on a promise to deliver on that verdict.
“In March 2017 I triggered the Article 50 process for the UK to exit the EU and Parliament supported it overwhelmingly.
“Two years on, MPs have been unable to agree on a way to implement the UK’s withdrawal.
“As a result, we will now not leave on time with a deal on the 29th of March.
“This delay is a matter of great personal regret for me.
“And of this I am absolutely sure: You, the public, have had enough.
“You’re tired of the infighting, you’re tired of the political games and the arcane procedural rows, tired of MPs talking about nothing else but Brexit when you have real concerns about our children’s schools, our National Health Service, knife crime.
“You want this stage of the Brexit process to be over and done with. I agree. I am on your side.
“It is now time for MPs to decide.
“So, today, I have written to Donald Tusk the President of the European Council to request a short extension of Article 50 up to the 30th of June to give MPs the time to make a final choice.
“Do they want to leave the EU with a deal which delivers on the result of the referendum, that takes control of our money borders and laws while protecting jobs and our national security?
“Do they want to leave without a deal, or do they not want to leave at all causing potentially irreparable damage to public trust not just in this generation of politicians but to our entire democratic process?
“It is high time we made a decision.
“So far, Parliament has done everything possible to avoid making a choice.
“Motion after motion and amendment after amendment has been tabled without Parliament ever deciding what it wants.
“All MPs have been willing to say is what they do not want.
“I passionately hope MPs will find a way to back the deal I’ve negotiated with the EU, a deal that delivers on the result of the referendum and is the very best deal negotiable.
“And I will continue to work night and day to secure the support of my colleagues, the DUP and others for this deal.
“But I am not prepared to delay Brexit any further than the 30th of June.
“Some argue that I’m making the wrong choice and I should ask for a longer extension to the end of the year or beyond to give more time for politicians to argue over the way forward.
“That would mean asking you to vote in European elections nearly three years after our country decided to leave.
“What kind of message would that send? And just how bitter and divisive would that election campaign be at a time when the country desperately needs bringing back together.
“Some have suggested holding a second referendum.
“I don’t believe that’s what you want and it is not what I want.
“We asked you the question already and you’ve given us your answer.
“Now you want us to get on with it.
“And that is what I am determined to do.”

Hopefully they don't get shit hurled at them tomorrow on their way to parliament. Seriously, I don't even want Mogg to be attacked, that's how serious I am.

She's so bad. 10 minutes of saving face then strong arming the country into taking her deal.

That walk away was hilarious too.

You should’ve just eaten the prawn pasta instead of trying to thwart the will of your dad.

I imagine your dad saying prawns with a scottish accent.

Sounds like she's launching an election campaign as much as anything else

He didn't call the referendum. He didn't lead the country into a series of negotiations that were "let's spend 2 years arguing over what the Tories want, then go to the EU to get it at the last minute", he's not the one holding parliament to random for a dead deal. But yeah, let's insult and blame him.
He’s meant to be providing some kind of opposition though....

You should’ve just eaten the prawn pasta instead of trying to thwart the will of your dad.
 to be fair I did vote for it, without knowing exactly what was in it. After finding out more I realised that I had voted for the wrong thing.

"We've asked you the question already and you gave us your answer, now... you want us to get on with it"... but let's push this deal I've been given by the EU through the Houses of Parliament for a third time because they don't mind voting on the same thing three times...

She's a moron! Honestly how does someone like her get into the PMs position?

She's so bad. 10 minutes of saving face then strong arming the country into taking her deal.

I expected a song, it was a poor production.

How popular is she? Any polls?
This is a good summation as to how opinion has fluctuated over the last couple of years.

Essentially people just want out.

In true 'oh god, we really are fecked' fashion, May's ability to insult people she needs to woo is almost unparalleled.

Nah, people think the two main candidates are shite. At this point the media should be looking to whoever else is available.

Haven't seen anyone cling on to power this desperately since Wenger.
