Television Breaking Bad

Some of these are so good.

Brilliant.

I just read that Sam Catlin has written and directed the next episode (S5E12). Exciting news as he's the brains behind 'Crawl Space', 'Hermanos' and 'Half Measures', as well as writing my favourite quote of the entire series to date.

Any annoyances regarding the Liverpool team selection are quickly passing with the realisation that there's another episode coming up. Jesse is going to have to hear about Jane, no-one knows but Walt, Walt would never tell him in anything but exceptional circumstances, ergo:

Walt tells Jesse about Jane just as he's about to kill him...an extra parting shot as punishment just for fecking with him. Maybe...

Can someone quote this please so I don't accidently read a spoiler -

I've finished season 4 but didn't start season 5 as I like to watch TV shows quickly rather than once a week. Has Season 5 finished?

Watching it live was interesting...American ad's, fecking hell.

Was an o-k episode in all fairness. Still good, but compared to the prev one, this was okay.

Yeah but I get they can't all be knockouts. This one was about setting things up.

Found it funny that Skylar and Hank were the ones who had murder on their mind more than Walt this time.

I dont want to judge this season too early but from where its going so far, It feels rushed. If you look back at the story right upto the scene before Hank finds the book and compare it to now, so much has changed over just 4 episodes. I think the problems comes from the writers not planning ahead enough, from interviews ive heard it seems that once they had released season 5 part 1 they then sat down and said shit how do we wrap it all up in 8 episodes. I am finding the Jesse/Walt situation particularly underwhelming, after all they've been through this is how their relationship ends?
Im still enjoying it, it goes without saying that the confession tape from last week was amazing and theres still plenty about this season to love but when comparing it to previous breaking bad standards I guess I could live with being poor, if i hadn't known such riches.

Right then, what a turn of events.

Firstly, I knew that guy in black had nothing to do with Walt, so the dramatic effect was lessened somewhat when he walked right by him. Interesting while he was walking towards him though.

Secondly, Hank explains to Jesse how much Walt cares for him (something I've said all along), yet Jesse wouldn't listen. I thought that could be a turning point for Jesse. Interesting how immediately after Hank's shown to care not one iota for Jesse. He casts him off like a piece of meat, right after explaining that Walt cares for him. Hopefully Jesse can see some sense.

After it all, are you all still as you were? When Jesse screamed "He can't keep getting away with this" I was properly taken aback by the raw emotion of it all. It's like he'd finally broken him. I was close to pulling for them two at that moment. I'm still for Walt, but I really hope there's some kind of happy ending for Jesse.

All in all, another great episode.

And Marie as well:lol: They are all breaking bad except for Finn who's just clueless

What do we think Jesse has in mind? Where does Walt 'really live'?

He's after his family. Or he's going for the hotel. Hank will stop him; he can't afford for him to go totally off the rails and end up in prison. Hank has a lot to lose here, and while Skyler isn't a priority, he needs to make sure Walt goes down as quickly as possible. He might see to Skyler later.

Hank's been shown to be a right cnut in this one though. Are people still rooting for him? The one thing we all seem to have in common is that we like Jesse, but Hank would happily dispose of him, I think Walt genuinely wants him to get on with his life. I think the writers are leading us to think that Walt has something in store for Jesse, when the actual fact is that he wants the best for him.

Until of course, he threatens to kill Walt/his family.

Got to be pretty full on from here really. Not as good as the other recent episodes but still good. I knew it'd be Hank that stopped Jesse. Not sure how they're going to fit the conclusion and the whole flash forward thing into four episodes though.

I think about a week has passed in these four episodes but the flashforward is still around nine months away. How are they going to fit this shit in?

I feel like Walt has "lost it" slightly too much. At the start of the season (before the break) he was on his hod-complex high, where everything went exactly as he wanted. Now he can barely manipulate anyone.

Couldn't get Jesse to dissapear.
Couldn't get Hank to reveal information about why he was being followed. In fact he basically confirmed Hank's suspicions.
Couldn't get his son or his wife to believe his crap gasoline story.
Probably loads more.

What about the 'confession'?

What about the 'confession'?
True, true. That was a huge cost though. Normally he finds away to inject his meth and sell it too, but in this situation he has basically stopped any possible reconciliation scenario. It might not seem like a plausible reconciliation existed, but if he has 6 months to live, all he had to do was hide the money properly (and somehow get his accounts to add up. Somehow) and his wife and son could conceivably keep a relationship with Marie and Hank.

Possibly, Hank and Marie will believe that it was Walt alone anyway, possibly. Or he hopes.
Cool your jets cooby, he be joking.
Phew!

"Trip to Belize", "Old yeller". Saul Goodman cracks me up almost everytime he speaks.
This quote is too much for me :lol:
Saul Goodman said:
Okay, but say, you know, just for the sake of argument, the kid's not in the mood for a nuanced discussion of the virtues of child poisoning. You know, his plans are running more towards stabbing you to death with a pointed stick.

That stuck out for me the most too. Was hoping Jesse would turn back.

What I can't figure out is why Walt hasn't thought of Hank yet and/or got one of Saul's guys on him constantly so he knows his every move just in case

Bit meh that episode.

What do we think Jesse has in mind? Where does Walt 'really live'?

My immediate thought was his family. He's not gonna kill anyone though granted but he could let his son know all his ugly truths. Maybe that explains the Heisenburg graffiti on the wall? Could even be Walt Jnr that does it. .

Maybe his ego? We know how proud Walt is of his product. Could Jessie try and take all the credit for being Heisenburg and draw Walt out that way?

Bigger question is what Walt want Todds Uncle to do? You're lead to think he wants Jessie taken out but I'm not so sure.

Now that forum has stopped crashing I think there was a few things that bugged me about that episode.

The main one was the way Jesse's taped confession (of everything by the sounds of it) was kind of glossed over by Hank and Gomie with "he's right there's no evidence we can get from that."

Seriously? Todd? Lydia? Madrigal? There must be something to at least follow up on.

That really did smack of rushed writing.
