Television Breaking Bad

There's no almost about it. He is the villian.

In just the last episode alone, he emotionally blackmailed his own son, tried and failed to manipulate Jesse and has everything set in place for Hank to take the fall for him.

That's just one episode.

Absolutely.

Was he in Skylers office when they showed him entirely in silhouette?

The only question now is will the writers grant him one final act of redemption?

Even though he is the villain, I still mostly want him to get away with it all, and I think it would make for a good ending if he did. If he gets away with it he is going to lose a lot of what he loves.

The way he lies is sometimes disturbing as it's so convincing, but at other times it so blatantly obvious. With Skylar and the latch, he was clearly lying and I thought she would call him out on it, but I suppose she is still shocked from what's going on. When Walt lies to Jesse it was clear that he was lying, but quite sinister when he just went over and hugged Jesse, and it seems as though Jesse bought it as he was about to leave and keep Walt in the clear.

Dexter made an epic for the first time in it's run? Might have to check this out. Since none of 1-5 were anywhere near as good as that BB.

tbh I haven't watched Dexter for like 2 seasons. I was just gonna watch the finale and get caught up from the "previously on dexter" stuff -_-

I've just started watching this. I think I'm on the first season.

But this is fecking amazing! I don't think I've seen anything on tv of this quality, incredible.

Shit, to be able to watch this without having a clue what happens.

Avoid this thread like the plague! Seriously.

I know! I just popped in because I have to rave about ho incredible it is. Trying to keep my eyes away from other posts! Seriously, I've tried to watch mad man, and a bit dexter but this is in a different claw.

I feel sorry for you who hate Walt. I imagine that the confession tape was somewhat lost on you. I was watching in awe of the sheer genius of the man, whereas I imagine most of you just hated him even more.

At the moment, Walt is winning, and Hank's getting his arse handed to him.

I think life is lost on Liam, in fairness. Missing out on Breaking Bad is a pretty small loss by comparison.

I understand how clever he is, that doesn't make him any less of a cnut.

I can't believe Liam of all people thinks something was lost on people and that he's the only one who appreciated the scenes. Knowing him he probably thinks he's watching a really long and weird episode of Malcolm In The Middle.

Three in a row; well done, arsehole.

I didn't say it'd be totally lost, but the effect of Walt's confession would be somewhat lessened for someone who's hoping for a bad ending for Walt.

But for me, I'm watching it loving every word, even finding it funny. I can't imagine you shared that?

Him piecing all the details together to set Hank up is brilliant, no doubt, but my feeling of disgust towards Walt framing an innocent man, who is family, far outweighs any admiration for his plan.

Have to hand it to Cranston again, the guy is amazing. I can't remember ever disliking a TV character this much.

It wouldn't be in any way. You've come across as quite condescending, that's all.

I like how he basically gave a true confession, but with bullshit details that implicated Hank.

He does that, all his lies have a kernel of truth, which he then uses to force you to swallow the line of bullshit he's feeding. The bit with Jesse was creepy and a prime example of this, he does care for Jesse but he doesn't want him to go for his own sake but, because he's a feck up and Walt doesn't need the complications right now. He loves that boy like a son, he'd never kill him off like he did Mike, he even regretted killing Mike 15 seconds after doing it, think he's learnt that lesson.

I find myself skipping the Skyler scenes again, I just don't get her as a character, she is bipolar. One minute dazed innocent housewife trapped by her evil husbands web of lies and meth, the next she's the ice queen mafia wife.

One thing that was a bit weird was Walt getting all cagey about getting the gun from the drinks machine given he's been lying and manipulating everyone with ease for a while.

Was funny as feck watching him run at the door, stop, then walk in normally. :D

Totally brilliant episode! The confession tape was unreal - I was literally sitting open-mouthed in shock at what I was watching!

I think that was my favourite episode of the whole show so far.

Most of them had it coming. Except Mike. Poor, sweet Mike.

They're still murders though, plus the way he constantly manipulates people (his son included). Don't get me wrong, Walter White is a great character played by a very talented man, there aren't that many likable traits about him is all.

That was some twisted shit with Walt Junior... Felt like another significant moment in terms of character development.
