Television Breaking Bad

Jesse's character now seems extremely overblown, unfortunately. I get that he's having a bit of a moral crisis about previous events but he's way out of synch in my opinion. Compare that scene there with Walt with the bit at the end of the previous episode and the difference in quality and character interaction is huge. Nice spot though regarding Walter and his lack of paranoia about Mike - thought that was a good bit of dialogue.

That episode took a while to get going and I wasn't sure whether they'd exploited Hank finding out like they could've done, but that bit at the end was great. fecking hell...'tread lightly'. Sets it up nicely now...I thought it was going to be a more subtle cat and mouse sort of thing for a few episodes but the shit's hit the fan already.
I agree. I sometimes feel they struggle to shoe-horn Jesse's arc into the show. He's undoubtedly been a major player during the series, but you get the feeling that he's supposed to be the co-lead, when really it's Walter White that drives this show, and from whom all the show's brilliance emanates.

I was expecting them to wait a few episodes before the Walt/Hank confrontation and Jesse figuring out that Mike is dead. Glad they've cut to the chase, makes things even more intense.

So from the opening flash forward we know that Walt has been exposed before he buys the gun/gets the ricin? I genuinely haven't a clue how this is gonna play out.

The ending alone was brilliant. I thought the episode was good, I was thinking for the first episode back it was solid and loved when Walt found the tracker. But then the ending... sheeeeiit.

Never will the words "tread lightly" be used in a more epic fashion.

I don't think it's overblown at all. It's exactly how I'd expect him or any decent person to react.

Not sure if it was just my torrent because I haven't seen it being discussed, but after Walt
retrieved the ricin from the abandoned house,
he turned and his head almost split in two and there was a sort of slow motion effect. What was all that about?

It happens on my stream too though it didn't look slow motion to me. It's his reflection in the dirty broken mirror (the wardrobe door).

The scene in the garage towards the end was amazing in terms of intensity. For all the shit he's done, I really hope Walt will pay it in the end.
Still amazed by the perfect american accent of that scottish actress

It was intentional. At a guess I'm assuming it's showing the split personality between Walt and Heisenberg?

Just remember, in case anyone is looking for downloads of this (in order to report it to the appropriate authorities), searching for "Breaking Bad S05E09 torrent" is bound to result in some incriminating evidence.

Love Netflix.

BB with the morning coffee. Textbook.

Sort of agree with both Scrumpet and King Eric regarding Jesse. It's true to his character but he has had a lot of moping to do over the last 5 seasons so it's kind of 'been there, seen that already'.

Walt is such a cnut. The guy has absolutely no conscience. Him going back for the ricin in the flash forward is a bit odd. I was half expecting him to try and use that on Hank before the shit hits the fan but we know that can't be the case now. I wonder what plans he has for that?

You get the impression that in the flash forward Walt has already lost everything, so I reckon the ricin will be used to get revenge on someone, which would be a first I think, all of Walt's cuntery so far has been problem solving in his mind at least. Though if you were getting revenge on someone you'd be more likely to Scarface them rather than slip something in their tea, so maybe I'm wrong.

Definitely understand the reaction but it's the style of acting itself that I didn't really think fit. It's entirely understandable to be fecked up about everything that has happened but I thought it was too dramatic.

Yeah, it's part of his character to carry the weight of the past with him. I think this might be it for him this time though, I can see him killing himself.

My guess would be it's for Skyler, who I assume has betrayed him to protect the family, and he's planning to attack the DEA office with his assault rifle. Will be interesting to see if the Scarface scene where Skyler says 'everyone dies in this movie' was actually relevant or if Walt fails completely in the end.

It's on there now. They said it'd be up as soon as it airs but it took 5/6 hours.
Netflix UK gets the episodes right away? Netflix Canada usually requires a two year wait! How much does Netflix UK cost?

Nah man, the way she speaks does my fecking head in. She sounds like she has a speech problem and speaks in fast bursts or something

Thoroughly enjoyed that episode! I didn't expect the shit to hit the fan so soon which is great! It leaves us with lots to look forward to

Still not sure how Hank is planning to go about bringing down Walt. "I swear to christ I will put you under the jail" was interesting.

Holy mother of God that last scene was amazing. The way he brought up things like the intentional car accident and cell phone call was brilliant.

And yet another instantly classic quote - "If that's true. If you don't know who I am. Then, maybe your best course, would be to tread lightly."

Christ, brilliant ending scene. Great intensity from the two of them especially Hank.

I was afraid they were going to have a few episodes where Hank probed Walt silently with Walt still unaware that he was being investigated but I am glad it's all in the open straight away. Will make for a great final seven episodes. Their house being ruined in the future is interesting.

Don't think Jessie is out of synch either. We've seen throughout the show that he really loves children and the killing of a child right infront of him was always going to affect him. He has always had a lot more conscience than Walt.

I thought Walt might crumble because Hank is so imposing but he really stood his ground and isn't afraid of anybody. I think at this point it's Hank who is starting to feel fear

What fascinated me the most is the fact that Walt was so quick to suspect Hank was onto him, ok it was a touch of luck realising so quickly but Walters thought process is instantly (somewhat cynically) several steps ahead. You can see the tangible fear in Hanks face when Walt segues into Heisenberg. Hank already knows he has no chance, not a single chance against him. It took Hank 5 seasons to get this far. Walt less than 45 minutes to move ahead yet again.

How do people think Hank will work it from here? He's obviously justified now in doing a huge investigation into Walt, but can that book be used in evidence seeing as though he effectively just stole it off Walt? Genuine question, I'm no law expert.

I think that's why Hank's now sifting through all the boxes of evidence, to try to get something that would hold up in court.

Just seen this:

EDIT: How do you do spoiler tags?

Spoiler uses [ not the <

Seems true what you posted though, noticed tonight when he was being sick he put a towel under his knees, similar to what Gus did when he was making himself sick. I don't know if he'd kill Skylar though, thought that might of just been to show how he'd lost everyone and has to do it himself rather than Skylar do it, never know though

Thought it was a really good episode, glas they got it out the way early that Hank knows and Walt knows he knows (sounds like Friends!) as it could of really dragged on that. Can see what people are saying about Jesse. I can't see them killing him off early though, I'd imagine he realises Walter is a cnut and tries helping Hank, seemed to be going that way with their talk about Mike
