Television Breaking Bad

On S03E10 now. Excellent stuff, but I have to admit I expected a bit more after all the praise.

Cranston and Paul are both superb though.

It gets better and better. Series 4 is much better than series 3 which is great.

Just read the whole thread, and wow what a man. He genuinely seems like a guy you could spend hours with and not get bored.

Does anyone else feel a tinge of envy when they see someone working their way through it? I can't help but think "the next few weeks/days for you will be awesome".

Saliph hasn't even seen the end of S3 or S4.
Funnily enough a friend of mine is working through it and I said this very thing to him.

Yep, just finished S4 a few days ago, and it was absolutely top-drawer stuff, perhaps the best season I've seen of any show (certainly up there with S2 of Arrested Development, though vastly different shows). And this is the first series I've seen that has continually improved in every season.

I just gave the whole series to a mate of mine. He just finished Season 1 and was telling me about it this morning. I am tempted to watch it again even though I have already seen it thrice now.

I know I have no life.

Sheeeeeeeit! I thought it was in July.

I watched the first couple of episodes again last night, I had forgotten how funny they were. I thought the scene where Jesse is asking Walt why he is doing this, and has he went crazy or something was great.

Hi guys, here's a collection of Breaking Bad memes:

I watched all the episodes in the space of a few weeks and have been waiting since November for the conclusion

I did the same, wish I had spaced them out now, only 48 days to go.

Knew no Spanish before Breaking Bad.

Watching through them again, one episode until 'Grilled'. I don't know if I can watch that again. Even though I know exactly how it goes, I don't know if I fancy putting myself through it again, it's an absolute ordeal. Might skip to the end of it.

I can't wait for the last 8 episodes but ill have a longer wait than all of you. I'll do what I did half way through thelast series of GoT and just wait for them all to air so that I can download them and just watch them all in one go. Much better that way than having to wait every single week for an episode.

Just have to hope no green poison cnut ruins it for me.

Have a bag of Aero Bubbles while you watch it Liam.

You'll be fine.

I decided to watch it all again before the new episodes, started watching it last week thinking ill just watch a few episodes a week and hopefully finish by the time the new ones are out but I forgot how addictive it is. I am half way through season 4 already, I somehow managed to watch all of season 3 on Sunday, it was pretty much all I did.

By better I think he means worse.

Coming towards the end of S2 myself. I don't know why, but I massively underrated it. I guess it gets compared to S3 and S4 and pales in comparison, but it's right up there in the second tier, beneath S3 and S4 of Breaking Bad and S2 of Arrested Development.

Just finished season 1 again, hope to have them all watched by the time the new series starts.

I thought I was missing the finale of season 1 as it seemed to leave it hanging quite a lot. Turns out that was just the end of the season.

I'm hoping to leave the last 3 or 4 episodes for one good session at it, but I don't think I'll be able to contain myself. :(

I still disagree. Sure they built it up, and people were led to thinking it'd be something or wasn't, but it highlighted the magnitude of Walt's actions. In letting someone die, for the good of his partner, and by extension, himself, he caused hundreds of other people to die in a fiery plane crash.

Basically blitzed my way through this over the past month or so since I finished The Sopranos and what an incredible show it's turned out to be. It's one I'd have said was very good at first, but gradually became better and better as it went on.

It's right up there with TS and TW for me. I'm not sure if I'd put it ahead of them, but it's up there. It's not got as many character or the general wide scope of them, but it gives great attention to detail with the characters it does have and does a great job with them. Walter's wife was annoying at times, but in a kind of good, realistic way.

Walter's transformation has been brilliant and is one of the best you'll see. I was kind of rooting for him throughout, and I'd say I was right up till S5, but once I realised he'd poisoned the kid it started to change, and I've really grown to strongly dislike him this season. At the start, I could see his reasons for doing what he did, but now he's been offered a good way out with a good sum of money and still refuses, turning into a bloodthirsty murderer, there's not much to like about him.

All the male characters are great too. Gus is a brilliant villain, Mike was a great character and Saul manages to be hilarious at times. I think it really went up a notch once it introduced the three of them into the equation.

I wouldn't say I actually dislike Walt yet but the opinion has certainly dropped over the last 2 seasons. I feel character development is one of the show's great strengths - Mike going from villain to hero, Skylar being very likeable to begin with and much more sinister later on and even Marie going from an annoyance to quite a likeable one now. Best of all is Hank - a bit of a bumbling idiot at times but I find him one of my favourite characters, despite conflicts with Wakt, something I know will be put to the test in the second half of S5.

When do the lads get back for training then?

Can't be long.

40 days from today.
