Television Breaking Bad

My problem with Breaking Bad is Skylar, Marie and Walt Junior. Don't like any of them. Sopranos did a good job of getting rid of any character I didn't like.

I'd like to add how happy I am that they are making next season the last as opposed to dragging it out, unlike a certain other popular show thats turned to dog shit

Skylar is fine. Everyone always hates the wife but how else is her character supposed to react to finding out their husband is meth cook? I think her transformation from outraged to now working with him, using her manipulative skills to assist has been really good.

I couldn't find a way to word that sentence well so you'll have to figure out what I meant.

I hate Skylar for the right reasons. She does her job very well as a character.

Walt did all that shit for her. The least she could do is appreciate that aspect of it. Instead she busts his balls 24/7 and cheats on him with someone also doing illegal stuff for cash.

She was a bit of a cockend giving that wanker she used to work for all the money so he would pay the inland revenue though. By this time she had made her transformation from housewife to criminal, she should just accept that the only option was to have him whacked.

Game Of Thrones
The Sopranos
The Wire

Charlie Brooker is having an orgasm over it(as you should after watching 4 excellent seasons back to back to back to back)....so hopefully he starts some kind of hype making it bigger in the UK. After all, it was The Guardian(and a lesser extent Time) that turned The Wire from being a next to unknown show instead of the Internets favourites show in 2007ish.

Dexters a huge dropoff in quality after Breaking Bad tbf. Stick with The Wire, Sopranos, Danish Killing, the greatest of the great imo.

I'm about to start watching this. I'll hold you all equally responsible if it isn't the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Welcome to the Brotherhood of Breaking Bad Brophs.

Good man.

I read somewhere that season 5 will get started next June. Anyone knows something about that?

And Game Of Thrones

I watched four episodes back-to-back last night. Seems quality so far.

Guess a lot of you haven't watched Deadwood. Just finished the 1. season and it's one of the best seasons in television ever.

I have. It is indeed one of the best. I would not necessarily argue with any one who claims Deadwood as a better series than Breaking Bad and vice versa.

Which one is better - the American or Danish version of The Killing?

Danish one's 100x better because Mireille Enos was just a terrible lead in the American one, painful viewing.

Hurry up and watch it, it's not even in dispute, you're lawfully considered a cnut now if you don't like this show.

I would disagree. I think the acting ensemble the American show had was good, the writing was just terrible. Bar the pilot, every other single episode more or less stank. I can't believe I carried on to watch the whole 12 episodes . Won't be repeating that mistake again.

I just thought she was annoying when I watched the American one but when you watch Sofie Gråbøl in Forbrydelsen it makes you realise how much was missing from Enos' character, IMO. She might be a decent actress but I thought she played the role really poorly in hindsight. Holder was a really shit character too but I wouldn't put any of the blame on the actor there, it was just a ridiculous Americanisation of a really decent character. Agree about the writing though, the less said about it the better.

Skylar is now brilliant and has proven her worth over the last season, glad Hank started to get his shit together as he was annoying as hell for the 3/4 of his season and as for his wife meh.

The US Killing was ok....until the spit in the face ending. The Danish version is legit classic television, fantastic female lead, supreme ensemble and flawlessly written. It's on the top tier of drama with The Wire, Sopranos, West Wing for me, which Breaking Bad and Mad Men will most likely go into as well.

Deadwood, Twin Peaks, BSG, , Six Feet Under, Game of Thrones(being just a classic first season right now) etc are all just on the tier below, which is still obviously the elite of television. Think you'd probably have to put X-Files, ER and thirtysomething in this tier too despite two of them going on for far too long.

Given that I'd already said I liked it four hours before that I can't help thinking you just needed an excuse to call me a cnut.

Bob Odenkirk is doing an AMA on reddit this Friday.
