Television Breaking Bad

watched it, can now read through all your spoiler threads

What an ending, one of the best finales I've ever seen on TV.

Cannot wait for the final series, it's 16 episodes isn't it?

Jesus fecking h christ. Why oh why didn't I watch these episodes the moment they came out?

Having manfully avoided opening any redcafe spoilers this last week, I was downloading the season finale when I had a quick peak at the comments to check the quality (you know, the A=10, V=10 stuff) Some fecking pond-life had thought it would be hilarious to spam the comments section with the biggest spoiler in the whole season, relating specifically to that last episode. Goddam it. Dammit to hell.

cough cough, eztv, cough cough

Shows this popular should have their own spoiler thread, just like Game of Thrones, that don't have SPOILER tags in them and should only be looked at once the newest episode is aired.

Yup rumour doing the rounds is they'll have a mid season break.

So that Gus Fring vibe, anyone feel it when they watch Obama?

That turned out to be a headfeck though. There was almost as many posts arguing about the concept as there was discussing the show.

I think the best way is to spoiler every post with an "Ep5, Ep6 etc) header above them. It's an extra three keystrokes and a click of a mouse. Shouldn't be too much to ask.

GoT was more complicated because of the books though, 2 threads were needed to discuss it just because of that, and both had spoilers about the show.

Bit late now anyway since the series has finished, but the method you mentioned above would work fine I spose.

I don't agree. It's annoying enough having to put every post in a spoiler tag anyway. No point cruising threads of episodes that you haven't watched IMO.. as you know that someone is going to let slip as everyone is talking about the latest episode.

It's hardly complicated

"Breaking Bad - SPOILER THREAD - discuss NEWEST episodes"
"Breaking Bad - General Thread - NO Spoilers"

Really it should be used for the most popular shows, like Dexter right now.

You should be able to catch up by reading old posts about episodes you just watched. What's the point of even having a spoiler function if people are supposed to completely avoid all threads about a tv series unless they're bang up to date?

To avoid spoilers for future episodes.

Just seems daft having two threads for every tv show just because people can't be arsed using the spoiler function. All the discussion should be kept in one thread.

Don't see the point. 99% of the discussion in this thread has been related to the newest episodes at the time. The general thread would just be filled with generic "good episode"/"bad episode" comments.

Like kietotheworld said, the main use of the spoiler function imo was to stop knobs from leaking future episode information that was yet to air (rampant in the Lost thread).

If it were up to me I'd remove the need for spoiler tags in this thread (except for future spoilers) and say stay out of these threads until you're up to date or you're asking for trouble. I know its not fair on people who can't keep up but its what would make it enjoyable for the large majority.

Anyone in particular? ;)

Wasn't that my point? Why can't there also then be a thread for people who want to discuss the show who haven't seen everything?

Either way there should be a thread specific to people who have seen everything.

So how would the general thread with no spoilers work? Everyone would still be at different points. You'd have one person just starting off the show and one person almost up to date with season 4. Use Pogue's episode number system?

Anyone in particular? ;)

Not at all. People have been really good about using spoilers in this thread. I'm just suggesting that a little "Ep" tag above each spoiler'd post would improve things for latecomers like me.

Why? All it does is dilute the discussion if it's spread out over two threads.

Just watched the finale of season 4.I'm left amazed. What a fantastic season
It's obvious Gus isn't dead though.A great character he was and they surely won't get rid of him.Cranston is a brilliant actor playing a fantastic character.

erm, you sure you saw his death scene properly? He looks dead to me

I did but then I wonder what's all the big deal with Gus being from Chile ? More than half of his face was blown up and maybe it's the nostalgia of losing such a great character that made me say that :(.I really hope to see him again, he's the coolest villain I've ever seen.
Either way, the season ended brilliantly and at the same time there are some questions who are left unanswered

Dead. Confirmed by the creator. And this is not the show that will pull of stupid stunts. Creator clarified that Walt's journey can not complete if there is another bigger bad out there

But they are talking about flashbacks and repurcussions and reveals of Gus's Chilean history fo the next season.

Good news is that it will contains 16 seasons. Bad news is that they might air that over two years.

Yeah. Though I do not think they will do his chilean flashbacks, may be something just related to his US operations and mexican.

BTW It has been quite a bit of time since the final aired. Surely we can talk w/o spoiler tags now

I think he means that the final season will contain 16 eps and will be split into two over two years. Been confirmed quite a while back.

It takes, what, an extra two clicks to stick them in spoilers or to open up the spoilers? Why would anyone care?! Of course there's going to be people just new to the show, but they want to read a bit up on it to see if it's there kind of thing...it takes very little effort just to help those people out.
